SCV- New CHARACTER ideas

How about more accurate weapons for the time. Zwei, Viola, and Algol get out of here NOAW!

Or how about Zwei function like cervantes? EIN comes out on just frames, unblockables and CE's. that way you can have an actual style built around Kreuzgriff WITH LOWS AND MINIMAL WHIFFING, and we still have EIN. just an idea

I like the ways that Z.W.E.I can be crafted....the weapon is nice, the short axe is also a great thing, in a girl and less animalistic way, twin blades would be cool too.

^This-From what I remember constantly preached in SC2, this was a series WAS about the clashing of strong barbaric warriors that fought over the right to weild sword to save their country from demons or take it over.. not Swords, floating balls, and robotic wolf avatars.
^I like this Victoriam felling, Soul Calibur need more (more acurrate at least) nobles.
Couldn't agree more. I wish SC was set a bit backward to the stronger points of the medeval age where a story like this would actually make sense... and where swords were actually relevant? I deeplywish SC took more of a historial abridged root. Take more influence from paraphrazing actual history molded around the swords being the causes of some actual wars or death of knights and empires. I mean it would be a lot more interesting to have a story that was coherent and referable. I dont mean throw in King Arthur but get BACK to the times instead of trying to get WITH the times. The game can still be saved atmospherically if not rebooting the stories from day one but the design and art direction like it was in Chronicle of the Sword with flags, coats of arms and etc. I know Blah Blah nao wii aht p0st-medeeval tymez but... the middle ages was just so much more appealing in all it merit. Its the only thing that made SC stand out considering all other fighters today are all present day-fantasy modern fist fighting. I just dont know WTF SC5 is, there were some stages that fit my vision but most others were just random. The gate where the storymode starts with Patroklos gets Soul calibur is one of the good themed stages.

I really like this line of thinking, Soul Calibur 5 it is just a random mess plot wise.
It would be even easer if the series, got a little more in the past, because even so they would still have a lot of freedom, cause the world wide characters would give the felling of travel, I guess Cassandra for example was great, see her 2p clothes, are a moderm approach of the tomboy char, another great thing; the past is something new, now every game have this techno thing, the medeeval has been forgotten. It is fun just to think how would the chars look, I think the new chars would not fit at all, they are just too pop, they lack the epicness too be on a medeeval scenario.

How about a spiritual successor to SC with all new characters, old SC engine (SCIII one with no VC and actually balanced), that takes place around 1400?

Hmmmmm, Solo I hope you are not being sarcastic, cuz since I lost Sophie no meaning in staying in this time, It is actually a good idea,

I dunno know if going back in time would fix anything but if they did a small revision of what the character stories and designs with a little more historial reference they could make the series a bit more collected and thus they won't have to pointessly through the story around having to resort to the sloppy mess based on what currently happened after SC3. The story they had going in chronicle of the sword already is what I want them to do, they just need to actually stay consistant. Add some more variety in characters based on human society class of that age. Have the story revolve around Hilde/Knightmare and etc. The asian characters would be travellers encountered, though they would come from a similar structure only eastern styled.

(Also, enough German characters-ZWEI doesnt remotely look German but more fitting based on his design if he was Arabic or better Egyptian)

Oh the irony.

If you wanted historical merit, that would make 1600s in Europe the Baroque period, not medieval, or at least the Baroque period was emerging during those times. I do get your point nonetheless.

Persia all the way!! I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees that.

What I meant was a new series entirely. Not an SC that is placed back in time. Made by a different developer that would care more about the important aspects of a game.

That term comes from a game being similar to a game but not taking place in the same universe. Big deal...
lol I know that. I already know that Soulcalibur/Soul Blade was the spiritual successor of one of the most under appreciated fighting games to ever be released on PS1.

Wait, there's a quite a few PS1 fighting games that fill that gap.

Either way I think a new series would be cool.

Sounds highly unlikely, and people would flip out even more. Look at DMC. People bitch, moan and attack any non bias supporters of the outsourced recreation.
