SCV- New CHARACTER ideas

evil setsuka pic too big snip
It's said that A-Patroklos style is his true style right, he might have been trained under setsuka but there might be another student beside him, and he....is the so-called mitsurugi's brother, that has yet to be seen in SCV because of the incompleteness

No no, they just wanted to replace her. He has no relation to setsuka. Her set is just there for the sake of her players.

Actually it says after his father's death Patroklos was taught by Setsuka and various other masters before he heard the call from Graf Dumas seeking warriors to battle the malfested.

Hmm it makes me wonder how on earth did Setsuka get all the way to him just to train him? This is where Project Soul is lacking in story details. At least in my opinion.

It was more like this:

-Rothion died=Patroklos became an Orphan
-Setsuka was training a group of orphans somewhere in Europe. Patroklos just happened to be one of them, and he JUST HAPPENED to like her style so much that he wanted to learn more of it.
-Patroklos desired revenge, but Setsuka suggested him not to (meaning her SCIV ending was somewhat canon)
-Patroklos pulled the "Classic Yun-Seong" move, and still wanted to avenge his mother anyways, so he ran away from Setsuka.

While the whole connection with Patroklos and Setsuka is a nice touch, it was obviously made AFTER the release.

Hmm I didn't know all that. Well I knew that Rothion died of a disease but it's just so complicated still. I mean, wasn't Sophitia still watching over her children up till Soul Calibur 3 where Tira managed to kidnap Pyrrha? Because if she left Patroklos all by himself while she was defending Soul Edge in SCIV, she's not a very good mother for doing that lol.

But you are right, it does seem like that was an after thought story written after the release. I think they pulled that stupid move just to justify Patroklos using her style.

No Zhou Tai style in SC5.
If you think ALpha patroklos (Setsuka), I cna say you Zhou tai has a different style ... more agressif
Just checks his C3,C4, C5 combos in Musou Orochi 2 or DW7 and you will understand.
More over.
Zhou Tai don't have Mitsu or Yoshi style ...

So : a different style.

Different attacks or not, it's still Battojutsu, which Alpha Patroklos generally has.

I believed it says that he was taught by various masters, but did not specify one of them being Setsuka. But it could very well be her...

It said Satsuka on Facebook. What I posted was a mixture of what they have on there and what is in the art book.

Flash flooding on an old topic a bit. As I've finally done reseach, I can confidently say that ZULU tribe fighers aren't the only thing people in Africa had culturally in this relevance. I disagree with the Zulu warrior being the only potrayal of African militia, If Soul calibur introduces an African warrior It should be from a time period people don't know to break the stereotype. There wasn't only mud-huts and leopard skins, there were kingdoms no less classy then the European ones. I personally want to get the stereotype of bone-nosed tribals out of the only potrayal of Africans. (Yes they exist but they aren't the ONLY people in Africa. Its like if white people were only potrayed as trailer-park campers.)

Meet. Sonni/Suni Ali:

A samalian king of his own actual dynesty in gold-wealth. Now the time frame isn't exactly on the dot with the eurpean middle ages. (actually he rulled 100 years before but this isn't the history channel)

The problem is the timeframe. This type of character would have actually made more sense in the earlier games, considering this dynasty existed then. Too bad the Moroccans got rid of it before 1600.

Hate to break it to you, but the most you could basically get is either tribal, Muslim, or relating to Egypt. A tribal character isn't necessarily a bad thing, since other countries contain tribes as well. It adds for variety in the cast. How PS designs the characters is what comes to play. Talim is the biggest example. Zasalamel is too, somewhat.

Story-wise, and character-wise, they have potential with quite a few events going on in Africa, if research was done. Based on the timeframe, Merina Kingdom of Madagascar existed, though their facial features and skin is more on the Asian side than how we would commonly portray African natives. There is also Kingdom of Kongo who were at war against the Portuguese, and lord knows what other African kingdoms/tribes Portugal has been against. If we were to lean towards the Muslim side of Africa, there is also Saadi dynasty of Morocco, Ajuuraan of Somalia (also against Portugal), Funj Sultanate of Senna (Sudan).

At least in the context of those against Portugal, that is a reason for them to obtain Soul Edge, like how it was for the Korean characters.

This would all be great, but it's obvious that PS doesn't care about historical accuracy as much as they did back when SE was released. Now it's just pandering to fanboys. :( We're more likely to see a black character with gold chains who raps when he speaks than an actual depiction of what black people were actually like back then.

I pray that they don't do that.... >_<
