Hey i said from the beginning that aPAT looks quite imba...actually i never justiefied anything. What i posted is a fact, not an attempt to make him look balanced. Funny how you just cut the part where i said he is "crazy good".
i just point out his weakness when people ask about it. aPAT has some weakness, one is he has no threatening antisteps. Stepping against him is really quite safe, at least on mid-maxrange where you only have to fear 2363B. The other one is that in real play you probably will never get his full damage, while other characters get 100 DMG combos from inputs a monkey could do after 1 hour practice.
In comparison to other characters he has a bad Wallgame, since camera always gets him BT.
His A+G Throw whiffs against quite a few characters etc etc..
His FC3:B can be quickstepped extremely easy and whiffpunishen with anything you want, thats 100+ Damage formost of the chars. Also his strongest Mid is a canned attack which WILL BE JG soon by top players.
While i agree he is extremely strong, most people just play like shit against him and dont know nothing. He is far far away from beeing SC4 Ivy...
Again i agree he is Top Tier, so please dont pick one sentence again and act like i justify his power. In comparison to other people i just research my shit before i start whining.
This is true, each of his power mids has a drawback:
33B is -11 which is pretty high disadvantage, and it doesn't do THAT much damage on NH
66B and 3B don't do THAT much damage, nothing broken here
214B needs CH, otherwise kinda trash on hit
1B:B second hit is JGable, though it's not the easiest of JGs
FC3B:B second hit is steppable
other mids are unsafe
I think you're underrating hit step control capabilities, though. While they aren't heavily damaging, 66A and 4K get the job done at mid range. Up close he has his devastating throws and WR A to catch step. The max range on his step-killing isn't all that much shorter or weaker than most of the cast.
100 DMG whiff punishes? Only with meter in most cases. aPat doesn't even need meter for his damage. How hard it is to do should be irrelevant here, since it's really not that hard. People will master the double twister.
But really, that's all I think should be changed. Double Twister is the only thing that leads to stupid, meterless, OP damage. What remains would still be a top tier character, but he wouldn't be too far from the other high tiers.
