SCV Yoshimitsu Q&A and General Discussion

Then all Yoshi has to do is 66A+B if they back tech. To escape the 66A+B follow-up, you'd tech right or left. Considering you'd tech to move Deathcopter will hit you(unless you got nerves of steel to JG it) In other words, 66A+B and Deathcopter follow-ups are like DGF K and DGF B. They're mix-ups of what tech traps Yoshi could do imho.

Another safe option is to dash in and 3B to hit grounded. Consistent damage and should always get them despite the lower damage input.

Hope this helps.

Back teching the launch a:B+K deathcopter seems to open many significant punish options. Discuss.

Yea, the whole deathcopter gimmic is probably one of the most recognized mixup in the entire game imo. Experienced players will probably know how to deal with it with ease. Novice players... Not so much.

If you find your opponent getting out of the deathcopter mixup, faze him out.

A:BK -> Deathcopter THEN B+K* during deathcopter. This leaves you hovering pretty damn close to the opponent, who mind you is probably and most likely still floored, and thus you can apply DGF mixups.

*Manji dragonfly NOT flea

Honestly though, while A:BK is all flashy and stuff, if you find your opponent seeing through everything, you can just a:BK then 1B. Its guaranteed.

66A+B will always catch back tech for huge damage so I try to avoid doing that if at all possible.

On another note, iMCF > 9B+KK is guaranteed, at least when iMCF hits pretty close. Leads to 50 damage without them trying to tech out of it. Upon them teching you can get 2B after 9B+KK hitting for 88 damage (72 without it). 2B is good because sometimes the camera flips. Maybe a nice little gimmick to throw out to test your opponent since 88 damage is way better than iMCF > RCC 3B > 6K and iMCF > 66B > DNK > 3B damage wise.
**only tested on Yoshi so far**

Since I struggle at RCC 3Bing after iMCF, I should be able to do 9B+KK to get consistent damage?

Is it possible to hit-confirm 66B after CH iMCF? I find that if I don't buffer 66B before the hit it won't come out.

The best advice I can give is to always buffer 66 after iMCF. This works for several different scenarios. If it hits on block or NH, you cancel your crouching state and are in good shape to do a bunch of things. If it hits on CH you can see it early enough with a buffered 66 to just press B for 66B or even better, cancel your crouching state and go into 3B to launch. The latter is very very very difficult to do on reaction.

I can't do the JF ear slicer (aB+K). is there a guide to doing it?
It was so easy to do in IV, but now i can't do a single one in V. halp.

Perhaps mapping the buttons A and BK closer to each other may help you.

In my case, (ps3 controller,) A is mapped to Square and BK is mapped to L1. I just tap square then L1 as fast as I can; it just feels comfortable to me.

My best advice to you is to keep practicing the ear slicer. I was in your position, but after weeks of trial and error, i'm finally consistent with it; offline and online.

These aren't baby Just Frames, these are tough ones that will take time to master. Keep at it my friend!

Thats what i've been doing. had my A = Square, B+K = R1... was at it all night and couldn't do it. T_T

Are you releasing the A button before pressing the B+K? In training turn on inputs. if your inputs look like A,[A]+B+K, your not going to be able to do it. The A input must be released before the B+K can be hit. It should look A,B+K.
