Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Well there's a couple things here. First of all we should all be grateful that we even have a SC6. Might not have happened at all and I don't think anyone would disagree that this is a major upgrade from SC5.

There are characters many including myself feel need to be in this game who won't make the cut for season 1. It's really unfortunate but the best thing we can do from here on out is enjoy the game and support the people who worked hard to give it to us. At the same time we can be persistent in asking Namco to add them in by dlc.

I'm not saying it's not reasonable to be unhappy with the way some things have gone but being angry about it doesn't change much and actually just adds to the frustration. In reality we are getting more than other fighting games get at launch. Aside from some missing characters/content the game looks truly amazing, may even end up being the best or one of the best in the franchise. Who knows what is possible down the line. Hopefully our support will inspire Namco to give us all the missing characters and extra content that would make the game feel truly perfect.

Well, this simply confirms what the story select screen seemed to indicate for months. Twenty characters, each with their own unique story mode. I'm still severely disappointed that Tira is DLC, so hearing that Hwang and Lizardman are also planned to be DLC is only further disheartening. I would much rather see Setsuka, Hilde, Viola, or Algol than them, all things considered.
That being said, if Lizardman is to be DLC, I would overjoyed if it's "Aeon" with double axes. Much like Raphael pre-vampire, it would be interesting to see the style without the wings or fire-breathing.

I suppose the big hope for fans now will be a second season pass, but that assumes the base game and first season pass sell well. One can only hope.

Raph looks lovely in action. Still over the moon that he made base.

The DLC thing is troubling though. I mean, Hwang, sure. A legacy character we haven't seen in a while, with a fully unique and historically accessible move set? I'd happily pay for that. But Lizardman, really? Who the hell thought repackaging him was a good idea? You can literally already play as a lizard man under the racial name "Lizardman" in the base game. Reselling a slightly more unique version for the main roster is so scummy, but worse than that, just... so stupid. Unless they have something absolutely wild planned for guest 2, and can thus afford to just throw him in as an afterthought, it's a really baffling decision.

As others have pointed out, if we look at Tekken 7's first season pass, they may just end up doing something rather bland or underwhelming for S1... though this may lead to a strong S2.

Maybe an underdressed loli character.. I still believe all of this was intentional to show off something big before release, but I dont feel too optimistic recently.

Well the "final ver." Hayate is referring to might simply be the build that's at TGS, which is said to have only the 20 already revealed characters. I think the surprises are a mode, but we'll see.

What if some of the surprises are negative, confirming Vergeben? lol
