Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Differences and wants aside this is a very robust and unique roster. It only will get better if we give it all of our love and support. Can't wait to see how this community grows. Love you all! <3

It looks painfully incomplete to me... Just add Inferno (TGS?) and you're done.

This game should have at least all legacy characters... but so far missing Hwang, Rock, Lizardman, Li Long, Edge Master...
Colour me disappointed considering this game was supposed to be a return to the roots.

Probably two of them cut and sold as part of Season Pass 1 or as DLCs (while the rest never coming back)... A very expensive roster for our wallets.

No alternate costumes...

Only 11 stages? (Soul Calibur I had 19 if I am not mistaken)...

If TGS doesn't show any surprise, then I cannot imagine a pleasant future for the franchise, sorry. It is like a step back in many aspects.
Even Raphael has lost vision...
I know those are just fake glasses, but you know what I mean.

Bamco just wants this franchise dead so we must accept it and move on.

Okubo and the team tried. They probably did the best they could but you must understand they are not Gods... just regular humans.

Maybe I am just jumping to conclusions here, but that's mostly because I am missing lots of characters in the roster.
I feel kinda sad... maybe some unexpected miracle could happen till game release... but I doubt it.

idk how many times it has been said that the higher ups wanted to end the franchise. we should be happy okubo and his team delivered with what they could which i can only imagine being a small budget. and even with that the game looks gorgeous and every character shines and stands out from each other.

as somebody said before this anger a lot of people feel right now doesn't help at all. remember this game wasn't suppose to happen at all.

I'm back after a bit of a hiatus. But from that hiatus came some information that I was not just told to share, but encouraged to.
Here it is.
I was told that apparently the leaked build from Australia is the build that went to print. As in that is the launch roster and the last two guys (you can guess who they are but it's very obvious who they are) got CUT and relegated to being DLC. Maybe because of time constraints or a way to just make more money. We're not sure the exacts on that end. But instead of 23 on launch its now 21. I'm hoping there's a day 1 patch that adds the remaining two characters as unlockables or something but they stressed that this is really concerning what happened.
While on the topic speaking of DLC, it was said that most people are completely blocked off and kept from knowing who the DLC Guest is. All that is somewhat known is that its apparently going to be huge deal, which was why Okubo talked about how discussions were still going on when asked about it.

What do you mean by this

What do you mean by this

Probably refering to the fact that Soul Calibur franchise is just business for Bamco. They want as much money as they can get investing the less possible amount in it.
Not only that but I am sure they wasted all resources on that unwanted Guest character which nobody really wants. to attract new players (male players mostly).. Instead of Hwang and Lizardman (and many other faces that should be there in the launch roster).
Tira being sold as Day one DLC was just a preview of what would come next...

I think anger can help, especially if it's directed at the higher ups. If the game makes money and they see how passionate the user base is, then they will surely make more Soul Calibur, hopefully learning from at least some of their mistakes (tbh I think they did learn from some of their earlier mistakes for SC6).

If people buys it, Bamco will keep the franchise alive... but at what cost?
I believe good old days will never return considering how things are right now.
I really hope to be wrong. I just want to eat all my words for once.

A glimpse of hope for TGS... maybe last chance.

That is exactly how it becomes worse.

This is pretty much a no-win situation.

Disagree. Higher ups shouldn't be that sensitive, or else they can be fired.

If the game makes money then who cares. Not sure how that's a no-win situation. Otherwise, if we just say Thank You Bamco for your DLC Practices, then the dlc practices will just get worse.

Guys please lets not anticipate the unknown for facts nomatter what weve heard and seen until full disclosure, because of some of you guys going ham and bad mouthing with negativity and bad vibes isnt going to help a francise that we all love. Yes certain things look shady bc there unknown let them tell it fully which should def be at tgs bc the games a month away so time to reviel there cards. We dont know whats instore for us and even if the game comes out some bare boned im sure in time their aware of our concerns and needs and theyll support it accordingly as long as the demand is there. Dude they have alot of shit going on okubo is handeling 2 ips the hurricane/sunamy that hit japan not enough time from corporate deadlines alot of shit involved lets give these ppl the benifit of the effort and support them. Games looks phenomenal gorgeous i know we might not have all of our characters but not all cards are on the table. Remember some of those missing characters arent conical to some plot n story elements so very easily be an unlockable npc just because they havent disclosed them doesnt mean that they might not be in. Chill out guys just give the game a chance dont kill it before it even leaves ground new players read everything everywhere dont spread negativity.

Well the "final ver." Hayate is referring to might simply be the build that's at TGS, which is said to have only the 20 already revealed characters. I think the surprises are a mode, but we'll see.

What if some of the surprises are negative, confirming Vergeben? lol

When I tested the game, alongside with other journalist, it was said that this build was the Master Build, who went to print.

But a day1 heavy patch can still change things.

I'am working to finish my footage in the next 4 hours. But I will probably release my video Thursday 10:AM (Paris Time) so probably Thursday 4:AM NYC time / 5pm TOKYO time

Unless, some info got leaked before, in this case I can release it sooner, since I signed an aggreement to 3:AM

Don't expect too much, it will basically be a preview of the 3 modes I was allowed to play. But I did saw some interesting stuff to share. I don't know what Namco will feel about... but it was in the game, and I was allowed to play thoses modes and reccords.

The real surprise might be in TGS annoucement, I heard there would be maybe something important annouced... but I would guess a DLC, And I don't know who.

And i'm tired from Vergeben speculations too.
I stressed so much for Seong Mi-Na and Raphael. He said Raphael fans would stress and we stressed a lot. He said finally no Raphael and here we have Raphael. And now he posts something enough vague to be a messiah if he is right and have a way out if he's wrong.

And myself i thought there would be a character trailer at TGS because i thought i had read it somewhere.
But i was just wrong, it was a dream. It's just written "trailer".

Error is human but i'm tired to stress for nothing.

Yeah Hayate please save us ! XD

Hopefully your video doesn't take away all the surprises and hype away from the TGS segment

Bamco would see the game making a ton of money as a green light for DLC practices. Not sure how you're not putting these two together.
