Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

since we won't be able to use our Libra CAS in other modes, I do hope there will be an option to at least import our Libra character into CAS, so we can then save that character as a CAS and be able to use it in other modes. Or, let us import our CAS into Libra so then we can use the Libra version in Libra of Souls.

basically, it would suck if we'd have to create a character "twice" if we wanted to use the character outside of Libra. I usually spend a long time ( majority of my time ) in Character Creators. if I fire up Libra, spend hours creating a CAS, and then try to use said character in other modes, only to find out I'd have to recreate the entire character from scratch again in regular CAS, I would NOT be too pleased.

Some games with creation work that way. There is only one solution: take notes of your edits, and copy them from one mode to another. Tedious, yet the only one working so far.

hopefully, there will be an import feature.

if we can't import Libra character into CAS, at the very least let us import our CAS character into Libra.

okay... well some good news so far

just from preliminary viewing... stickers and patterns can't be included in the "370" figure given... there's over 300 of those alone and I've already counted over 250 armor pieces

Hopefully 370 doesn't include face-paints either ^^

Still there’s the odd lack of Siegfried’s short hair which we’ve seen in the story trailer. Also there looks to be very little purchasable items in-game. Hope that means we unlock some in Libra. Most of what we’ve seen didn’t go too far, but the customs we’ve seen should have had some stuff that wasn’t in by default.

My main female needs a circlet and Honor Boots...

PS: I hate fighting Maxi.

This exact point is something I brought up a few days ago.

I think the problem is that in libra you start with very limited equipment and have to purchase more during story progression at the shops etc. Which means it wouldn't be compatible with everything you have available in the main creation mode.

Played a few hours on the beta today and crushed some noobs with seigfried but then ranked up and started to face tougher opponents. The game is extremely fun.

As fun as they are to play, I think seig and nightmare might need a slight damage nerf, they both hit like a truck and seem to be quite problematic for several match ups.

Most of the time the connection was stable for me although I did have it set to my region mostly. Prior to that I had some extremely laggy matches that were probably countries a long way from my region (UK).

One minor gripe, I don't like how seig's last critical edge blow just sweeps under your opponents feet, it looks really silly. What's with that? It looks like it barely touches them.

Love seig's Jap voice actor, sounds really dramatic!

You know what. I changed my mind. I'm not so upset about the less piece announcement than I was. I mean yes it's less but there's more coming in the season pass and if we support the game even more after that.

We've got a whole bunch of new single player modes we didn't have in five a more fun fighting system and more. I can't expect the world. Besides would be hypocritical of me to complain about people making a big deal about the roster size being smaller than people want out one side of my mouth while simultaneously complaining about the reduced CaS piece number out the other side.

Truth is we got a lot of variety in this game creating a very robust skeleton to be built upon. If we support the game we might get more season passes which means more CaS more characters and who knows how the other modes might get support.

Am I disappointed I have less CaS to work with to start? Sure absolutely I am. That loss however does not occur in a vacuum and is worth it in the short term for a more varied robust game in the long term. Big picture I may have lost some CaS at the start but overall what I've gained in content seems like it should more than make up for it.

Having less customization options for CaS than SCV isn't a good trade-off for races, which largely amount to old "skins" with little to not customization in some cases. Of bigger note is the creation story of the swords, considering SCIV already covered that. Libra of Souls also sounds like a canon "secret" history happening behind the scenes, but won't have too big an impact due to branching questlines and the like.

A very informative interview, overall.

Remember it's a baby budget, they could've had graphics like mitsurugi on the cover. They could've had gravity on the clothes and more volume in the hair. So yeah low budget and low man power cost it.

The game looks smooth and amazing, I have fun with every character I try and every match makes me want to play more,
the servers are really good for a beta, I had massive lag only one time and some input lag of 0.5 seconds to 1 second only a few times
And it NEVER crushed for server problems, unlike a lot of games
I only tried 9 characters out of 16 because I want to keep my first experience balanced at day one, believe me when I say that I've never found a character that makes me say "Oh well this one is boring", I could play all day long with each of them.

Solid gameplay, solid characters, solid entertainment. I can't wait to have my full experience with this game.
