Taki's Replacement Revealed?!

This week Daishi has been teasing that he might do an early reveal of one of the two silhouettes posted about a week ago. He's been asking which of the two silhouettes people want to see most, and today he gives us an early look at a brand new female character!

Daishi has been rather glib on whether or not Taki would be returning. However, with the reveal of this character, it can be assumed that Taki may only play a secondary role in Soul Calibur 5.

This is why I have problem with games based on age =(,
I mean look at street fighter >.<, that game has been existed before i was born, yet Ryu,Cammy,Chun li and friends havent aged a day,thats y I love street fighter =D,I hope they use ageless system too here =D

 

Man, there are some real haters on this thread, despite the optimism of some, and a few others trying to temprament said haters.

I know. It's ridiculous because 1. We haven't even seen her in combat. 2. We don't know the rest of the roster so stop hating.

Don't judge a book by its cover. This saying applies here, Don't judge her by the way she looks.

 

Taki was the first char I choosed in Soul Blade, I play her in SB, SC1, SC2, SC3 and SC4 one of the best Chars ever. Taki is a woman, this is a kiddy child. Absolutly Epic Fail!!!!!

 

OMG! What will happen when the next new characters will be revealed? Everybody asking for the older and dropping the new ones without even trying them? Ok, I don't wanna see the community split :[

Okay. We've had Taki in every single game of the franchise, and she's always had a very important role in the story... until SCIV. Let's face it, almost every single character in the series was designed to be in one single game. They either have their revenge, complete their mission or live happily married after ever. Whatever they do next to keep them fighting is just stupid. Just look at Astaroth, Maxi or even Taki. They had great stories back in the days when they were created, but in later games they were basically just fillers story-wise. I think that's the reason why we got a 17 year jump.

But getting to the point of replacing Taki is just too risky. She's a fan favorite, in few words, she's the Chun-Li of the series (I think someone said this in other thread already). But hey, this ain't Street Fighter; in this series people actually age (just look at Siegfried). And a 40 something year old woman is not as agile as a ninja, even being a ninja. And they also look way less attractive, and SC is a lot about attractive females.

Besides, this was more than to be expected. We got one of the most important characters replaced -Sophitia- and people weren't crying like babies like they're now. In fact, she was basically replaced in SC2, but for some reason they decided to bring her back as an extra in the console version. Ok, I know it's different, since Pyrrha looks just like a young, scared sophie. But this character could even turn out to just be Taki, who with some Soul Edge-ish magic turned younger/blonde, we don't even know her name, who she is or how she got in the story.

My point is that people are hating without even knowing who she is.

-Now- The chances of the other character being a veteran are way much higher now -that's if they keep their 'one new one old' revealing formmat- but I actually expected the female to be the returning one. Who might he be? He's not Raphael for sure, since he holds his sword with his left hand. Zasalamel? IDK, he has hair, that would just be weird. Aeon Calcos? Hell no! It would just make no sense.

 

Precision and tactfulness were always a part of Taki's character and style, so i'm upset at the moment to see that her replacement is a flamboyant lindsey lohan

About sophitia,i guess her death would be a huge event in the story line of SCV.

Hell yeah, you are right. 10 years ago, the story of SoulCalibur was amazing.

No stupid tournament story... But a tale of souls and swords... Eternally retold. I really believed in those words back then... But it became so boring and unsatisfying after the years... Oh my.

I think this world is way to much focused on young and sexy bodies... But oh well.

 

All I hope is that she actually uses BOTH of her blades, even in the simplest of combinations like AA or BB. I mean, what's the point of havin' two blades, when you only use one 3/4s of the time [I'm lookin' at you, Taki]? If she does, she might be the one to quench my "Duo Katana user" thirst, in this iteration [assumin an actual duo katana user that's not a clone of a fully established character, still won't show up in the series [I'm galrin' at you, Shura]].

This is assinine, everybody complaining has no idea whether Taki is really out or not. Like i said before, maybe this girl has the same weapons but totally different fighting style like Cassi and Sophi, Rock and Asth, etc. Quit bitching till its official................and even then, GET OVER IT! I love Setsuka, but if she doesnt come back, OH FUCKING WELL!! At least theres a new Soul Calibur game finally coming out!

She looks retarded. I hope this is just a bad drawing because her face & hair looks bad. Taki had a much better, gritty style.
