The Arcade Stick and Convertor Thread & List

I like a lot of Byrdo's work, but I suspect they are more than what I could pay. I am awaiting a reply from him so I can get an idea of what I would want would cost. Who knows though, I have a Hori SC4 stick and while it works ok most of the time, the buttons can get unresponsive which is irritating.

Champagne taste, and beer budget I guess!

I'm skeptical. They are being made by Mad Catz afterall. But if I have not already bought a custom by that time, I'm sure I'll at least research what people say about them once they start shipping. The pad doesn't interest me, just the stick.

I will assure you that the arcade sticks are being made with lots of research and with hardcore/fighting gamers in mind.

They'll be surprising to say the least.

Well I learned today that there are actually two versions of the SF4 sticks they are going to make. One of them is priced at $69, and the other at $140. The expensive one uses the actual parts from the arcade machines.

I can't seem to find out when the sticks are due to be released, but since the game is slated to come out in March, I am not going to want to wait that long. Byrdo or one of his competitors will get my business long before then.

That being said, I hope they live up to the hype.

The pricing on the sticks are tentative and they will be available when the game is released.

More details will be revealed down the road too... they are definitely going to impress people once they get their hands on them.

Props to you for swatting back all the MadCatz hate Mark :P I'm planning on picking up a buttload (well, a stick and two controllers) for collections sake anyway. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there's a way to get the 360 controllers to be both light and wireless... though settling on a cable so that they're still light would be an okay compromise.

Unfortunately the controllers will be wired for the 360.

Microsoft does not allow any controllers to be wireless (only other peripherals such as guitars etc).

Well damn. I knew they didn't allow anyone to use a chrome guide button but that's news to me. :/ Oh well then. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this is better indication that we won't have to deal with battery weight issues. There is something very nostalgic about going for the "claw configuration" as ExMachina put it a while ago :D

high quality arcade sticks by Mad Cats!!? here in the usa getting high quality sticks is a hassle. Thats why so many of us build our own or spend $150+ to import.

But i will give Mad Cats the benefit of a doubt because when they do want to make a great product they can do it. Just look at the first party 360 controller, didn't they design it with Microsoft?

I have the Hori EX2 and the quality of the buttons aren't that good, my blue button (X) is already not responding well to quick double presses. I am a bit dissapointed. What I did to fix it though was I opened it up and swapped the X button with the LT button, just swapped in the inside pressing mechanism. I don't erally use the LT button anyway. I had to desolder and resolder the buttons.

Pockymuncher: that'll work fine for a bit, until the other switch goes. you should look into swapping them out.

how does one remove the buttons from the fighting stick ex2 (the SC4 stick) and replace them with sanwa parts? if possible i would like to replace the joystick as well. :)
