Oh shit, that's bad :< I'm sorry about that...
No I should apologize. I got worked up. The leg armor is actually in another section. So I'll make a more official note here:

Ancient Armor 1
- Breast plate is located in the mid section, so you can only equip undergarment with it since it conflicts with anything in the armor section.
- Gauntlets and spaudlers come together, in the glove section, and will conflict with any shoulder equipment.
- There are no faulds; the "faulds" are part of the armor. However, there are some that will not conflict and work well, such as Warthog and Magus (latter is female only I believe).
- Leg armor is located in the pants section instead of shoes and has an integrated lower chain mail. This means that it reduces customization options, but they will not disappear after armor break.
- There are at least 3 color channels per parts, but it's mostly minor details.
-- Some color channel works the same way as undergarments: you cannot make them orange or red without pink hue.
- Some parts may conflict with itself. Sometimes the fabric part of the gloves will go through the metal part on the knuckles. It happens most noticeably with female.
- Increasing the breast size will make the armor grow fatter from below, making it "rounder", instead of making the breast area go further like the Magus plate.

I'm sure I haven't covered anything since I didn't even try neck accessories yet to see which conflicts with which, or if none of them work (lol). Knowing all these stuff, buy at your own risk...

By the sound of it, its a piece of shit. Some of the clashing seems avoidable if they took the time to separate the pieces. As of now, it feels like they rushed it; it couldve been 7-8 pieces instead of 4. I was on the fense about this one, but I guess I wont be getting it. I may have broke down nd gotten that terribad Trendy Pack after being artistically starved, but it won't happen again.

thanks for the very informative break down. this will help many people.
thx again

I think you guys are over-thinking it. I don't care for extra voices, improved stickers, and other miscellaneous nonsense. All I want for a DLC patch is:
  • Let us set which pieces break. I chose my equipment to be there for a reason, if you make a knight you'll most likely be completely naked by the second or third round, total bullshit. A toggle would be great -except for special pieces, which would just break without a choice (to avoid penises, drums crap, etc).
  • Either fix or remove pitch options. They worked great in SCIV, but now we have this crap system where all voices sound like robots unless you set them to default.
  • Fix the floating pieces, or let us configure them like special pieces.
  • Remove the stupid drums.
That's it. If that happens I won't ask for more than the typical DLC pieces.

^This and more CaS slots...50 is soooo little.

I regret getting the armor ._.
The lack of compatibility with any of the waist equipment is just ridiculous.
And I don't mean that I'm getting the incompatibility warning. I'm referring to the sheer amount of clipping, making any choice look terrible.
The only things that don't cause clipping are the pareo and hip skirt. And who's gonna use either of those with that breastplate?
But, at least there's no incompatibility with neck equipment.

This round of DLC sucks so hard it makes me pretty angry.

Ancient armor sucks for the reasons outlined above. The modern pack sucks for similar reasons, the outfits actually look pretty good, but Namco must be the fucking laziest goddamn company ever. They didn't separate any of the parts so both the flight attendant and military outfits are just one piece so it's really just cosplaying, not customizing.

As for the Tekken pack, who the fuck cares? Devil Jin's stuff? Flaming pants and some fire gauntlets? Yawn. For some reason they opted not to include his wings, the only cool part about him. Xiaoyu? Yaaaaaaaaawn. Already have the Chinese mini dress, close enough, lacks the fuzzy arm and neck openings so it looks less shitty. King? Motherfucking King? What? Because we didn't have enough stupid goddamn animal heads already?

Tekken characters aren't interesting. If people are so hell fucking bent on recreating them, 80% of it could be accomplished through additional decals rather than eating 30 MB on my HDD. The only character in Tekken 6 that has any usable costume parts is Yoshimitsu. Give us that or go the fuck home on the Tekken shit.

So, so, so, soooooo glad I didn't waste my money on this spit in my face.

ProjectSoul, in case you didn't know, most of us don't really care one bit about Tekken parts. That's the reason we bought Soul Calibur instead of Tekken 6. So, if you insist on giving us parts from other games, here are the ones we would like:

Talim parts
Zasalamel parts
Yun Sung parts
Taki parts
Seung Mina parts
Setsuka parts
Cassandra parts
Sophitia parts
Rock parts
Li Long parts
Hwang parts

Just about every one of us would pay our first-born child to have these things along with quotes, faces, hairstyles and weapons of the aforementioned characters. We would also send you our right arms if you could find it in your heart to add and balance some, or all of their fighting styles. If you don't want our children or body parts, we will gladly send you big moneys instead.

TL;DR: We would like to use CaS to remake the missing Soul Calibur characters, rather than "Generic Cool Dude #47" or any characters from non-Soul Calibur games. It's nice that you're trying to appeal to Tekken fans, but please don't forget that the people who actually bought Soul Calibur 5 are fans of Soul Calibur.

Well i picked up the tekken 6 dlc pack.
Thanks to reviews on this thread i felt well informed with what i was buying.
So with this purchase i went in with the mind set i was buying 3p guest skins and not cas items.
It helped.
i am currently trying to get all the soul titles so it breaks up the monotony to have king, xi and jin filling in from time to time.
the item i like most so far are the jin gloves.
Since i am all about creatures i really like how the king mask dosent taper up like the tiger mask.
this makes it look more like a head than a mask.
Oh and that panda head is huge. it almost sits on the entire shoulders its so big.
Also you can make it into a regular bear head with color editing.
my only real disappointment is with the color editing on some of the items.
And of course the whole pants and feet gear are one item is kinda getting old.

I don't really see what they are trying to do with the Tekken parts being included. Of course, I will still buy it for Xiaoyu's dress, but.....is that it? Well, you all asked for more modern clothing, and sure enough you got it.

But something tells me this was just to promote TTT2. Whether PS chose to do this or not, it still won't affect whether I get TTT2 or not. Of course I will buy TTT2, and I have always been planning on it.

Le Bello actually likes the Ancient Armour. The helmet alone has a certain intrigue.

People whinging that it looks bad when all equipped together. Honestly, you're making a CaS that wears just that one set of armour? Le Bello applauds your originality.

The chestplate, whilst lacking in items it plays nice with, is still a very nice piece of armour, and let's be honest, there's a distinct lack of that. Especially ones that don't make the character look fat. AND it's unisex, so, bonus!

And claiming PS are lazy for 'not breaking up the parts' implies they were ever going to. Which I daresay they weren't, and so, it's like calling a car designer lazy because the car doesn't have reactor screens and cameras in the back.

I disagree with you so much on this. This may not be the best update, but compared to the Beast Pack, Trendy Pack, and the third one we got within the month the game was released, this is a decent update. What's wrong with it are a few things:

1. The equipment take up a lot of slots; the ancient armor being the major offender with this. A lot of what we've gotten could've been broken down into more pieces to give us more customization options. I actually like the flight attendant attire, but they should've separated the jacket from the ultra-mini. If they did that, we could've added pants, shorts, a different skirt, or anything else to it. You can get a lot out of these clothes if you see them as something more than what they are; I treat the stewardess uniform as a modern jacket instead of just a stewardess uniform. As far as the armor goes, it doesn't take a genius to know that it could've been divided into 7-8 pieces instead of just a measly 4 (helmet, torso, spaulder, greeves, gauntlets, fauld, chain-mail). I thought it looked plain and ugly, so I didn't bother to buy it... :p

2. The price wasn't right. I hate the fact they cost $2.99 each, as if this was some kind of premium content when it's not. It blows my mind that the SCV equipment was $1.99, yet it has about 30 pieces, compared to the $2.99 packs that have 3-5 pieces. They should've combined equipment that share a common theme (active wear and the maid clothes should've been included with the modern pack) instead of dividing them based on fetishism. They seem to be less concerned about making the consumers get the most out of their money if they change prices that high for a pack with only 3-5 pieces. Someone needs to directly speak with them about their flawed business model, because they do it to other Namco Bandai games too (Tales of series, Ace Combat, and others have poorly implemented dlc)

I agree that they should've given us clothes from past games instead of doing a Tekken 6 crossover. However, with Devil Jin as a playable moveset, I can see why they tried to migrate more of Tekken into Soul Calibur. Even though the Jin outfit can't guarantee that the moveset will be playable at tourneys, but it's a slight hope imo. I also don't like that they choose to include King, because we already have more than enough animal heads...

3. No new 1P or 2P update. This is a biggest let down and there's no reason why they shouldn't have done it. Because they were able to do this, we made a big expectation on what we should get next. There's nothing wrong with those expectations, since Project Soul is clearly able to do them.

This dlc might not have lived up to it's hype, but it's not as bad as you think.

I don't want any 1p parts from SCIV. They where all ugly. Maybe not Cassandra and Sophie's 1p outfits.

I'd much prefer character outfits from SCIII.

What would be really cool is updated versions of outfits from Soulblade and Soulcalibur for the throwback.
