Trying to Redeem the SCV Newcomers

Our best shot is probably an announcement in 2018 and a release in 2019.
Yeah... To be honest I ALMOST do not care anymore. But then again, I do not see me as a Tekken or whatever fighting game player.... It was from the beginning SoulCalibur

These past few years have been terrible for Soul Calibur from a rushed game like SC5 and terrible games like Lost Swords and Unbreakable Soul I think we all would be happy if we got out of this shit sooner.

Hopefully it won't take them THAT long. I was thinking more like an announcement this fall or winter and then a release in mid 2018 or so.
I'd like to be that positive with this. However Tekken 7 being released right in the middle of the year it being announced at e3 would be impossible due to how soon it would be from the release and it could still be considered to soon to announce it for the rest of the year keeping in mind Tekken 7 has a season pass and what not.

I thought you guys meant to post in the SC6 discussion thread.

But, then again, the new characters can't be built up if a new game isn't made.

Depends on what the new game includes. If there is a new game in production we don't know if it will give the new cast another chance cause we don't know what's going on at Project Soul right now.

I think the new characters should be given a chance. They're not perfect but I feel that they have a decent amount of potential to become better in the next game(if it will ever exist), and improve on where they have received criticism.

Here was the big problem with the new characters or at least the successors, they replaced long time favourite and because of it they had large shoes to fill and contrary to advertisement many people didn't see them as worthy successors.

I think you'd have a hard time trying to find someone that had one of the older characters as a main and actually liked the successor that replaced them and the P.R for certain characters removal didn't exactly help either.

Also generally with a next generation roster you only get one shot to get it right and for a decent chunk of the older fans these characters didn't connect and now they want their mains back. Sure these characters could probably be redeemed but damage control for these characters needed to be done years ago it's going to take a lot of work to redeem them.

After looking back at the last 14 pages of this thread I was surprised it didn't get locked at that point in time.

I hear you, Crash. Most of those pages were spent arguing with Nyte on Taki, Natsu, Patroklos, and that dumb popularity poll. Finding a post relevant and constructive to the topic during that period was as easy as finding a needle in a haystack.

I swear, Crash X, you should be a mod for having the patience to read through that many pages. Kappa

Nyte just got offended whenever someone liked Natsu over Taki or even wanted Pat to return, and thinks they have no possible redemption because of that Facebook poll, which is honestly irrelevant at this point in time. From reading the pages I know Pocky-Yoshi contributed quite a bit to the thread.

If I were given an opportunity to be a moderator, I would probably turn it down. Modship tbh just isn't for me. I'll leave that stuff to peeps like GreatOne and Party Wolf.

Edit: Also, I managed to make it through every single page of the SC6 Thread. How's that for patience?

It's not like that poll was a bad idea it was good enough just to get an idea of who the community likes even if Facebook isn't the best place to run it.

However people shouldn't be treating that poll as if its the be all and end all for Soul Calibur. If PS still want to include Patroklos in SC6 or future SC games they will do it despite he's low ranking in that poll. Same thing with the popular characters like Zasalamel and despite him taking number 10 on that poll if PS don't like him or don't want to add him he isn't going to be added.

Sure character popularity can really influence a roster to a game however its not the only thing that decides a roster especially when you think about gameplay.

^ That's true, but by doing that they risk the game not selling well. If they don't fix any of the major issues people had with SCV I doubt the next game would sell any better.

That is also true you would want the next game to sell I think we would see more fan favourite characters in SC6 (Provided the game happens) I'm just saying that just because that character Poll had a specific character ranked high doesn't guarantee their existence in the future title.

I had quite a few issues with soul caliber 5 myself and I think if Soul Calibur 6 doesn't become the near perfect game it will kill the franchise it's sad honestly.

I'd like to hear these "major issues" that "people" had with SCV
