Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Dammit I need to learn the frames so I can have a better hulk. Hey does hulks standing M have more armour frames than his standing H.
 
Don't have the guide on me at the moment but I believe M starts sooner with armor, but H lasts longer. So H on advantage, M on response?

Don't forget though, you can always cancel into things to cover your ass. calling an assist then Gamma Charge -> H after a normal can ave you from punishment.
 
Yeah the guide is AWESOME. That's where I got most of my matchup knowledge from. Only character to completely flip the script on me is Phoenix and I already explained my gripes with her a few pages back. Other than that, anyone who doesn't already have it should pick it up ASAP. It will help you out so much.

Also, GGs to Juece and Shogun in the past few days. It's nice to play against people I know rather than random ass-wipes who bitch and call me a Wesker/Dante scrub when most just play Sent/Doom/Phoenix.

Hulk is a scary mofo up close lol Had no choice but to zone him out Juece. Your Hulk is very good though. Destroyed my Dante 8/10 times he went up against him. Also, you need to be a bit more mobile with Dormmy if you plan to stick with him, although online is very tough. ABUSE THOSE CHARGES.

I don't really ever see Spidey played online, much less a solid one, so it's great to see you play so well with him Shogun. Same goes to your Joe. Their best combos aren't easy, especially online, so it's great to see you get them on me at times. Sometimes tho, you should just go for easy mode combos as i said to you lol I'll be awaiting those vids of yours.

Hulk + Corner = o.o; for any player, cause if he hits ya, it's garunteed at least half your life gone. I got no choice but to zone hulk players cause a s.H will always lead to at least half your life gone, and with right assist, at least 75%. It's scary stuff

Also GG's to you too Shin, your Dante and Wesker are beast! If people look at your Dante and think that's scrub material then they are complete scrubs, they just don't know how hard that stuff is to pull off in an online setting. But seeing that gave me motivation to attempt some longer combos online. I was actually able to pull a spidey doom combo twice on my friend online so I know it can be done, just way harder. Joe's gonna be the hardest to perform online from what I'm seeing.

Also I finished the recording for the combo so now I just gotta get another media converter and WMM again to start editing. I was thinking of making a tutorial on how to pull off the combo but I think i'll just put notation down and which characters you have to modify on. I will show exactly which frames you need to have the opponent for it to work successfully though
 
Alright So playing SHIN made me realize how hard it is for hulk to get in on people if he doesnt have a good assist to help him. Even with Sent drones, getting close to wesker is hard since his gun can shut my sent assist down. Getting combo's to land online is also a pain in the ass since you need to buffer and doing Hulk's OTG with Dorm (dark hole) is somewhat timing specific and it only works in the corner. I just sucks that hulk has to have certain assist to get his real damage going.
On a seperate note I was noticing that hulks s.M is awesome, I think it beats out tron's j.H and it beats out haggars pipe. I did it online but if it beats out those attacks then I may need to start using it more in my play.
Another thing is how the hell to you get in close to Sent with Doom missle assist? I swear I had such a hard time getting any damage in on sent at all. Not just sent but Deadpool with tron assist is stupid annoying since by the time you get near deadpool tron comes out and saves him giving him time to back dash and hit you with a hyper. Halp me I need the guide
 
Oh crap I didnt know about the advanced guard block stun stuff! I must incorporate that into my hulk and sent game now! Also does anyone know if arthur's flame toss will OTG?
 
I didn't think Hulk was all that good until I had to start fighting against him. He's flat out one of the best and easiest in the game, but he does need a good assist. Hulk + Doom missiles is obnoxious. I have a habit of using Spencer's Bionic Lancer - DHC to Storm's Ice Storm to instantly kill assists that like to hang around, but Hulk's slow over head EATS a hit from Lancer and stops that strategy cold.

Frustrating as hell, but if you manage to kill his assists he has a hard time.
 
Yeah advancing guard is incredibly important. If you aren't using it you will take far too much chip from hypers and get stuck in pressure loops. Key things to note about it:

  • Advancing guard only reduces chip damage on multihitting attacks and does not reduce the first hit. So You can reduce a Beam hyper but not Bionic Punch. Sentinel Force, while multi hit, I dont think holds you in block stun so I think they count as 3 separate block stun instances so it wont work there either.
  • Delaying the advancing guard deep into the block stun will push the opponent back farther
  • If the first hit to initiate block stun is from an assist, you cannot push the point character with advancing guard, but it will still reduce damage.
  • Projectiles are linked to the character, so in the instance one is on screen and they tag out, the new character will not be affected by push back, EX: Trish Hyper Scythe, then tag out, new character can't be pushed back
  • Assists cannot be affected by pushback
  • Some Hypers and specials are not affected by the pushback.
  • Corners reduce push back distance, no matter if you facing in or out of it.
My dirty trick? Lay Dorm flame carpet down, back dash, when they hop it advancing guard and you'll push them into it still trapped in the attack animation. Follow up with f.H and combo.

It's basically a combo with an unblockable reset that's guaranteed to K.O. any opponent (post Sentinel update) on the game with 1 or 2 bars (no X-Factor) with the exception of Thor (modified versions in the tutorial).

Requirements for combo:

A corner after the spike
Fast otg (Deadpool, Wesker, X-23, C. Viper)

You can use x factor for people with slower otg's (Akuma, She Hulk, etc) if you want to waist it, then it's garunteed 1 bar to take out any character in the game. However I wanted to build it around the idea that spidey can do the damage needed to hang with the big boys with little bars as possible (since Spider Man is considered none damage worthy unless with specific conditions and characters). This will open up ideas to spider mains (like myself) without having to sacrifice to much (I use Deadpool in my team so this combo fitted pretty well with my team).

Modified versions for Ama, M.O.D.O.K., and Thor will be explained in the tutorial:

Notation (I believe this is right): c.LLMH Web Ball, s.LMH Web Swing, j.MMS, s.ML Spider Sting (Spider Bite), s.LS, j.MMHS (timing varies with otg assist). OTG, Web Ball xx Web Throw, OTG D xx s.LMH Web Swing, j.MMS, s.ML Spider Sting xx Maximum Spider

Pretty sure I haven't played you online, but some guy I played did a full-life combo using the same setup (Deadpool's OTG) and one super (the Ultimate Web Throw). Going to assume it wasn't you because the guy had Tron assist and, really, with the exception of that combo, was bad. Just remember that because he basically jumped around doing zipline and covering it with Tron until he would get a random hit and then go into that combo and I thought it was sad that someone like him could kill one of my characters.
 
Nah I still have a 0 counter for Tronne so it couldn't have been me. Was this on PSN or XBL? I also really can't get this combo off for nothing online and only about 50% of the whole combo offline right now (well I've been on a drought for missing DP xx Maximum spider at the very end for some reason). I mean I still take out members, but I need to have it at least 99% by the time I go to a major (yea i'm picking this game up with Soul Calibur for major tournies).

The only person I seeing maybe getting out of this combo is Sentenal's unblockable Aerial Hyper, but he has to get it off in like 2 frames (if performed right that's about all the time you recieve). I haven't tested it against a human sentinel so it goes without saying. I just know any form of attack, block, and tech (front or backwards) will not be able to escape the unblockable reset.
 
Imma switch my internet provider (I seriously got suckered into DSL as fine for gaming...I'm a web desginer...how did this happen?!?). When I do I'll be asking for online matches, right now though there's too much lag to really play a legit match, but I'd like to get some training for EVO going.
 
It's decent for learning match-ups and gives you an idea what to expect but is frustrating when you drop combos and simplify because you drop them *cough* me *cough* other than that it's pretty educational. Does things for you that computers wont.
