Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Phoenix has a level 1 super that lets her heal all her red health. In addition at level 5 she triggers Dark Phoenix mode which boosts her damage and gives her the ability to put 5 projectiles on the screen, and she still has all her other supers. Don't forget there's also X-Factor at work too.

Essentially playing Phoenix means you gain access to a fourth character or a character with two bars of health.

A team like Phoenix Morrigan and Felicia who can boost super meter could make a pretty nasty combination set up to burn down targets with Phoenix and then power up meter for subsequent set ups.
 
Galactus is likely an unplayable boss. As for phoenix, her normals also get buffed where they sound out numerous small projectiles. when she's in that mode her offense and pressure is insanely good. She'll be very hard to stop against a smart player who knows how to apply pressure safely
 
As for Phoenix "pwning" Galactus, he was just weakened like most of the times when he is about to feed.

Seth Killian suggests not getting hit when playing as Phoenix....

Can't wait for the game!! Anybody want to play SSFIV on PSN?

Yes but she has ways to heal and those must be high damage combos. Her offense and zoning look insane, plus assists potential. She could be great, just difficult to use properly since you must manage so many things.
 
As she, like any character in this game, will only be 1/3 of your team, whatever her weaknesses a simple tag out to another character can change the game dramatically I'd imagine.

At this point, if I was thinking of a Phoenix team, I might try Sentinel for brute force and Arthur for keep away
 
ryu did a 4 hit combo into super and it did like 90%+ (can't tell cause she went to dark phoenix). If he added one more normal in there it it surely woulda done 100% damage (though for all we know it did anyway.) Unless his super is just freakishly strong compared to other character supers (which I kind doubt) I don't see why most of the characters shouldn't be able to kill her in one hit for only 1 super bar (or 2 hits if dark phoenix occurs).
 
yes but she has lots of ways to keep away and pressure, It may be hard to ever get in one her to combo. As well, it's probably best not to have her on point and drop her in when your meter is at 5, giving her the chance to get into dak phoenix mode and do as you please. ALSO her healing bubble while activated will probably save her when she's being combo'd It activates whenever the opponent is within it i believe, so you should be healing while getting hit. This means she's SUPER dependent on meter even more than just her lvl 5 phoenix. Until we play her we wont know, she has a lot of potential to be a lot of different things. I can see her being ass as much as being stupidly broke, she's not something we normally see in fighting games.

Also Galactus confirmed. He's unplayable boss and the current cast is the FINAL cast for launch. More DLC is to be announced in following weeks which will hopefully include even more characters. There's a review out by playr.com, but it's so fucking horrible I refuse to post it, but merely utter it's existence (Capcom needs to really hire a PR division to stop so many damn leaks and early content..as well have it come from sources that have no reason to even touch a fighting game).

Also for those that ordered the guide on Amazon.com (like me). They promises Feb 4th...they switched it and it will now arrive LATER than the release...so cancel that shit and buy it opening day at gamestop or where ever (Dick move amazon...dick move)
 
LOL that review was definitely horrid. Didn't even know how to use X-Factor properly and thought it was random. XD Anyways, here's the final episode for those of you waiting to see it. It's awesome with win drizzled all over it. Don't watch it you don't want to be spoiled.


My only beef with this was WHERE IS MY WESKER!!! O_o

Also, here's the boss fight against Galactus.

 
Wow, seriously? 1 normal and 1 super from hulk and she goes squish? Yea, that kinda makes her rather asstastic...
 
Wow that was actually a pretty lame "final episode" imo. Also, lol at Capcom having no villains in this game except Wesker and Akuma, who seem to be causing trouble for the lulz.

And here I was thinking maybe she could fit in my Wesker/Dormammu team. That thought got shut down REAL fast.
 
Well, I might be the only one who remembers this but: Sunburst/Sunburned/Shin/Dark (Whatever you want to call it) Sakura wasn't much better then Regular Sakura. And regular Sakura sucked, so....

Which is odd becuase Black Sakura had a lot goin for her. More Invinciblity Frames with Ashura warp. One of the Largest, if not the largest FWD projectile special.

I'm still undecided on if Pheonix is MVC3's version of Sakura in MVC2. She's lot faster and has some great projectiles. I'll wait til she get destroyed in a few tourneys before I say she's a waste of space on the character select screen. :\ Shouldn't have to wait to long to start seeing her worth/worthlessness since Evo's doing that tourney league thing now.
 
This is true. Sure, less effort goes into 1 hit and 1 super, but in reality its not much different from cable hitting you once and spamming his super 5 times to kill you, or messing up ONE footsie exchange and getting killed by Storm.

Just look at Magneto. He's incredible in MVC2 but his health basically means he can't get hit by anyone or he'll get DHC-ed to death. Granted, Phoenix's health is waaaaayyyy worse, but it sounds like she has some good tools. What she needs is obnoxious Strider-level pressure options and she'll be viable. That's all it will take.

That video is only a small part of the match... It stands to reason that her abilty to withstand damage is reduced to compensate for the abilty to recover, explaining why she took so much damage from that move. (she looked dark, I'd guess that state nerfs her defence as well as buffing her offense)

You can't take much from that tiny part of the match really, not that she would of been my first choice to begin with lol...
