Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

For anybody who has trouble with Marvel this is my advice. Don't panic! Just calm down and figure out your defense first. Step two is learning how to open people up. Only after you get that down should you even think about combos.
This is great advice. I don't know any Virgil combos but I've been beating people by blocking correctly and punishing. I just... have to combo their character three times to win LOL.
 
It seems Jet Stream with Dante doesn't hit 2 characters anymore..... that removes his best Birthday Combo outright. I learned that the hard way while in a tournament.
 
Okay, so I got the game finally (probably should've waited a little longer, Zelda comes out in two days) and I got a hold of Vergil and I'm having fun with him, but I noticed that a lot of his normals are unsafe on block. Not to mention lots of recovery time on Trick-teleports, making it hard to mix up effectively.

I'm also having trouble grasping Firebrand and Doc Strange. I really picked a team of really difficult characters, huh?
Cancel normals into specials like Judgment Cut or Round Trip to be more safe. Teleports also work, as do calling an assist to help out.

And no characters in Marvel 3 are that hard to learn outside of like...Viper and Dante.
Hey guys, do you know any re-launch moves for Vergil after the first aerial combo? Normally I can combo the character then finish off with S (Shooting Star) and then follow up with 3H once the hit the ground for a re-launch. However, you can't really do anything after 3H - short of doing a super. I was wondering if there were any other options?
The BnB combo you should be using is:

M, H, 6H, 623L~H, sjM, jH, jS, H, 6H, 214M, H, S, jH, j2H, 3H xx 236+ATK+ATK

Does mid-to-high 600k's worth of damage, and builds almost a full bar. This combo will also work after 623H (Rapid Slash) xx 214+ATK+ATK (Devil Trigger)

Just use another Beehive. Easy enough.
 
No no Cosmic, the Birthday combo has Jet Stream very early in it.
a, b, c, Stinger, Jet stream, XF, s, j.h, killer bee, Devil Trigger, s, j.h, lightning, lightning, lightning, j.s and end it however because most characters in the game and all assists are dead by this time anyway.

But now two characters just fall out no matter where in the combo Jet Stream is.
 
Hawkeye is really good, but I'm still smoothing out his rough spots. You really can't afford to whiff an arrow with him if you dont guard with an assist. DAT ARROW tho! It's a Phoenix killer, no idea how she can fight that. Gravity squeeze at least required 3 meter and could only be done on ground. His combos are tricky though when it comes to corners.
 
Hawkeye can be a pain, yeah, and definitely has the tools to be top 10. Teleport characters ruin him though.

So thinkin I'll be making RR 2nd instead. Don't really like starting the match off with him staring down someone like vergil at neutral advantage. Figure it's best to use a different character to put them in the corner and use DHC shenanigans to get coon in once i have momentum (mine is + on block!). Plus now I have that ridiculous log assist that scares the shit out of people.

Trying Task/RR/Hawk. I'm iffy on usin Task and I don't know why considering he's my main, just feel like im missing out on some gimik synergy for RR (cuz god knows he has silly shit for combos and resets).

Right now Virgil is my biggest irritation. He's unsafe, but that sword hit box is retarded. I'll need to learn my openings cuz I'm getting punished trying to get in on him. Also not appreciating online players running mixes of Virgil/Dante/Dog/Firebrand for lag spam wins :/ It's not fair trying to fight that with RR online.

Apparently it's possible to dodge Hawkeyes arrow. I've seen it full out whiff twice, once by a guy twitch ducking it on accident. And in a totally lame find, Maximum Spider clears the entire field of RR's hyper mines, meaning my dreams of kicking them into one and comboing into another maximum Spider are gone T_T

That aside, Can anyone give me any tips on dealing with "PLAZMA BEAN" spam from Dr. doom coupled with Sent Charge spam? is there a way to teleport past all that craziness? the whole damn screen fills with projectiles its ridiculous.

My question is: which character are you using? If I would assume Hawkeye, you could jump and toss arrows or tiger-knee super on reaction to the Sentinel drones call, after an arrow or two, the Doom player would most likely change their strategy because Sentinel is wounded, and that is when you try to catch Doom with a combo to snap in Sentinel.

Will try it, any way i can use Wesker to deal with this to along with hawk eye and Chun li or Morri?
 
Alright so I have a small offline scene for marvel at the college I live near! Virgil is so freaking beast its ridiculous, I was playing the best guy who goes plays with the gamers and his Virgil isn't top tier yet but he was still messing up my team by himself. Once I killed his Virgil I won but god if I screwed up once against Virgil I paid hard for it, luckily people don't know what to do against Ghost Rider so that helps me.

I'm thinking of dropping Doom and picking up Nova since his he seems like he is more fun to play with and seems like a character that will be extremely good in the long run. Though I can feel Ghost being another strong character and he helps give Dorm extra damage from mid-screen. God the more I play Ghost the more dangerous he seems to people and playing against people who teleport doesn't bother me as much now that I know they will just try and teleport behind me to avoid my long normals.

Anyone else play ghost?

Assist + Teleport. Also overhead teleport.

Dante can also open Ghost Rider up pretty easily with his grapple. Whiffed normal = Free grapple from fullscreen. Even better when I have Strider's Vajra chilling there to lock you down. Devil Trigger is a more meter dependent solution, but probably the best choice. Vortex and Beam for days. Strider's Vajra ability on point also gives him a free way in, especially since it's safe (not +frames, but safe nonetheless). Beam/Projectile characters in general can really open Ghost Rider up, i.e. Doom, Mag, Dorm, and etc.

I don't see him being much of a threat, at least once the game evolves. Why? Because today I saw a Jill get in on a Ghost Rider by herself, even while Ghost Rider was backed by Task and Firebrand assists. It can definitely be done, just takes a little bit of patience and smarts.

Me. I think Doom is going to be one of the best characters in the game, I run Ghostrider-EAT CHAIN/SheHulk-torpedo/Doom-beam. She Hulk torpedo assist is amazing because of how far it reaches and it being low. It really gives GR some great mixups/unblockables and since she slides if you are jumping she may even be offscreen.
Teleport.
It's not that simple but yeah it certainly helps.
 
I think I air grab like 90% of any overhead teleports people try and if they call an assist then odds are they will teleport so just jump up and block. I actually try and bait teleports just so I can get air throws and discourage people from trying it. It's worked on every person I've played online and offline so teleport characters haven't caused me trouble, aside from wesker and Virgil since they don't teleport into the air. I'm also usually on offence with ghost and my doom assist so it really limits the options people have.

Whiffed normal into B+H equals safety.
