Yes, keyword being once. Half of the cast were clones in SCI. They were later differentiated into their own unique styles. Why does everyone keep dwelling in the past? I've said it before, the zanbatou and rod are different weapons entirely and should be treated as such. The fact that the developers failed to do that in the past games means they fix it in SCV. They are trying to cut down on clone characters yes, but that's where the opportunity lies. A new rod and user and most likely a new zanbatou user. They're spiritual successors to Kilik and Mina respectively but they're going to play nothing alike. You know, like SCIV Kilik and Mina.

And plus, there's gonna be a crapload of people crying if there's no Mina or no Mina replacement. It's as easy as saying Mina had a daughter. Boom. Replacement. I know I'd have a fit if Xiba takes the role of Kilik and Mina. It's more likely he'd steal Yun-Seong's spot than Mina's if you ask me.

Anyway, I'm part trolling. The only "Indian bit" about Kilik is just the name of his Weapon.
His Staff, Sash/Pendant and Soul Calibur are all named after 3 eras in the Hindu Calender.

Also, Satya Yuga is called Krita Yuga in SC.
 
Xiba and Pyrrha are actually the only two designs I find not "meh". All the other new guys I find "meh" :<
if Xiba uses the pole with his legs I will totally want to try him out

Just a little precision from the wiki page: "The Satya Yuga (Devanagari: सत्य युग), also called Sat Yuga, Krta Yuga and Krita Yuga in Hinduism."

Well, Hualin was indeed very bad (just like most bonus characters), but we're not talking about taking her movelist. It's more like incorporating some moves similar to what she did (meaning not exactly the moves that she had) with the whole expansion thing going on. Like somebody mention, it could easily be done with brave edges.
 
oh and I wasn't really all that for the announcer to say the names of the characters when you pick them, but now I'm really grateful. hopefully, we won't hear many more "zeeba" and "leihua" when the game comes out. especially zeeba would annoy the hell out of me.

lol, glad that Daishi himself cleared that Xiba is "shi-bah". Still bothered that they say "zway" instead of "tsu-vai" though.
 
zway is one thing, but the french people calling leixia "leihua" are really bugging me lol... not saying everyone does that, but the announcers at the paris games week were doing that all the time.

lmao, I'm studying French in school, and I don't know how an "xia" would have a "hois" sound, so maybe they've just gotten used to saying that.

Fatal_Exodus : IIRC, when she was first announced I remember people calling her Leihua by accident. And considering how active the French are you're probably right. It's stuck.
 
I might sound like a perv since he's under-aged but I think Xiba is man-cake material... like mmhmm yummy little monkey boy can GET IT!
side note: the claw that comes out of his waist-band/belt thing looks like it's giving him a HJ...
 
I pronounce her name Layk-zee-ah. Is that right?

I'm attracted to the idea of a monkey king. His feet are ugly, but I bet he has really cool tail moves. I just don't want him to replace Mi-na as well as Kilik!

It should be more like leyshiah or leyshah with very soft "sha". The same xia as in xianghua
