SC causes problems in real life.

Calibur ever been to blame (in your eyes) for some unfortunate event in real life? Tell us your story.

Soul Calibur once again has made me lose another job.

No.1SC2, an acquaintance an hour and a half away invites me to a party some spring Saturday night. A friend of mine and both our girl friends decide to go. As it turns out the host claims mad SC2 and Smash Bros. skills (Gamecube) and we get this tourny goin at this huge party (something like 200people in SBM and 150 in SC2) long story short I didn't make it back to work on time Monday and lost my job.

No.2SC3, I was working construction... woke up to rain so I went into the basement to get my slay on. I was so addicted I never left the basement. Turns out the rain stopped before noon and they wanted me to work. My cell didn't get reception down there... Another job sacrificed.

No.3SC4... this time I have a delivery job and 2 cars. Some drunk b!t[4 rear ends me so my nicer car is totalled, but they sent me a check to get another. My other car has very minor ignition problem that could've been fixed in a few hours with under $100.
I've been so stuck on this game I haven't gone to look for a new car and gave up working on the other one because my PS3 is so close by.
My g/f takes away my PS3 so I'll work on my car...
Still can't take my mind away from Calibur so now 8wayrun is keeping me away from this.
Either way they found another delivery guy lol.
 
You need to go to G.A. Gamers anonymous for real dude I think the worse thing that happened to me because of the game was not doing an essay. I did that shit later though and slept like an hour but still if I got things to do I get them done. Even if I lost sleep

losing all these jobs, how you have money to pay for your apartment rent, bills, car insurance, gas and still have the money to spend on games? and what about college..?

maybe the guy is just thrifty is all other aspects of his life... economically prioritizing :)

Eh, I always seem to have some kind of side work or hustle I can get up on to make some cash for bills when it really comes down to it. Gas? You don't need gas if you don't leave the house. College? Government and privately funded grants more than pay for it. Games... there's the problem, besides games I've borrowed I really only have SC4.

And, I wouldn't consider 3 jobs over the course of 5 years a lot as was implied. Especially when they were all replaceable.

3? Wow... do you mean like completely broken? One of my controllers' shoulder buttons + right analog stick has gone to hell and I have a couple marks on my wall but I still use the controller lol.
 
Here might be a solution: Why don't you just work at GameStop? At least you might have breaks and hey, play a couple of demo games while you're at it. That way, you'll never be late to work because you have incentive to be at your work... it's a win-win situation :D.
 
I ditched my mid term paper for Cannes 2004 (SC II) but still managed to pass the module.

I had an argument with my boss over SBO 2008 (SC III:AE).
Either way, I told him he can let me take unpaid leave or I can quit.

And now in SC IV....

PS. Not really a problem to me btw.

I've skipped dozens of social invitations because of weekly SC tournaments, and I frequently make bad money decisions when rare merch pops up on eBay. No immediate SC=trouble situations come to mind, though.
 
Hmmm... Calibur hasn't made me do anything, but I have played Calibur with a broken hand before... and with a broken arm.
