How big a fan of horror movies is anyone here??

I just got Saw 2, 3 & 4 for $9..I'm not really a big fan of horror movies, but I do watch them...next up is

Freddy vs Jason
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

I only get them cheap

I like them.

My current favourite is REC. Spanish horror movie. I was so scared the first time I watched it.

The Rob Zombie remake of Halloween was FUCKING GOOD!

Now I just have to go see the 2nd one that is in theatres right now.

was rob zombie the guy who made 'night of a 1000 corpses'? i'm not sure if that film was so bad it was good or if it actually was quite good, either way , not a bad movie.

Yes, it was 'House of 1000 corpses' and very weird. If you havent seen his 'Halloween' remake, go get it nao. Too good!

He's also in a rock band...called....Rob Zombie...

I watch a lot of horrors, generally I'm a big fan of "the Ring" movies :3

Besides that, I love Nightmare on Elm street.

Ok this is sumthing i saw on holiday in singapore at my uncles house cause he has a ton of movies. I know most zombie movies you've never heard of are likely to suck but i was bored and it was late at night.

I doubt any1s ever heard of it but it was more of a comedy more than horror because of how bad it was. The acting and voice acting were so bad. They pretty much talked like. NO IM SERIOUS - WE HAVE TO STOP IT --- OR ELSE. Their budget must have also been ultra low and they even replayed scenes and used sum scenes that clearly looked like they were from other movies. The SWAT team in it were also wearing normal clothes for a long time and when they blew up a door they shouted "explode" lol.

But what I really felt wrong was first of all it looked pretty normal. Then sum part into the movie theres a fetus coming out of a naked woman. Naked asian zombies. And there were like naked 13 year old boys with masks. (aint that illegal or w/e??)

Halloween 2 was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

Dead Snow (Nazi Zombies in Sweden or some shit) was goooooooooooooooooooooood.

That is all.

Most frightening thing I've seen to date:

French horror is the scariest kind of horror.

I'm not a big fan of the Saw movies. The blood and gore is very unnecessary and don't make it pleasant to watch. I want to be scared during a movie, not grossed out.

I also loved:
- 28 days later (not 'weeks', that one sucked)
- Let the right one in (Swedish movie, very sick in a nice way)
- REC (as I said before)
- The cube (just part 1, not zero or 2)
- The descent (was pretty cool, plus the main chick is Dutch)

I like suspense movies, things like the Japanese version of the Ring. I'm not a fan of horror movies, things like the American version of the Ring. To me, the best suspense movies are about atmosphere, and making you scared, without actually doing anything scary. Horror movies these days are too often about Gore Porn and Monster Closets; and I don't like that.

There is a reason for that... we are just plain desensitized. Scary atmosphere and all that is good... but when was the last time you were actually "scared" at a movie? For me... it has been, like never. (Alien scared the shit out of me as a kid, but that's different) Suspense movies are just way too easy to read now and it seems like everything has been done. The only way to actually get to people is that "shock factor" of seeing intense gore and for some reason lately, rape scenes. (hate those) People are not scared as easily because of the real life situations and movies that we have been exposed to more and more over time. The directors feel they need to go above and beyond that in order to get a "scared" reaction out of a crowd.

Oh and I think the Horror film demographic is mostly made up of unsocial teenagers and people with below average IQ's... they don't understand suttle nuances and deep plots... all they want to see is blood, because they don't have to think about it.

My favorite is Silent Hill, it has suspense that gives me goosebumps, a pretty good and very dark story, and a lot of gore which is fine with me.

The best videogame based movie ever as far as i know.

I like Octalus too, nice old monster movie.
And the whole Tremors series. Although more for fun than for the scare.

One of the worst i've seen yet: The Grudge with Buffy. just. plain. boring.

I was disappointed with Orphan. I expected so much out of a psychopathic little kid. All I got was my own foot in my mouth as the end credits rolled. I couldn't even walk out of the theater, it was in so deep.

My foot smelled of popcorn for days.

Street Zombies FTW.
