SC revival team

Epic: Thanks. Hopefully he shares some inside secrets. How old are you anyway? You make yourself sound ancient.

Alex.J recently laid some knowledge on me. Namco has been listening to our community to some degree. They have had testers who are notable players and have even sent devs to some tourneys. Doom combo was found during testing but they didn't think it would be a problem. RO slides were nerfed really hard in BD so in the future it shouldn't be an issue. What Namco does is up to Namco and the economy of course so for now all we can do is show them that we love this series and will continue to do so.

Don't think it'll work, but at least make sure the people communicating with them have some skill in public speaking/writing. We don't need any more stumbling interviews or rambling posts being seen by people involved with this game.

Realistically, I'm hoping that they reach out to us so that the next game can turn out to be incredible, so do continue to show your support in that thread on their forum. But if you want to revive Soul Calibur, then it needs to start with you guys who are reading this. Continue playing the game, don't drop the game for stuff like Tekken, introduce the game to your friends, and try to make it to tournaments. Talk shit. Generate some rivalries. This ain't canasta.

Just don't solely wait for NB to do something. If you do that, you're going to be waiting for a long time.

That is really easy for someone in New England to say.

It's probably because nobody checks the boards anymore for various reasons to even know about the thread. I personally was only stopping by to check the regional thread to talk about T6 lol. I really do think Namco cares about the quality of their product seeing as in how they even bothered to add those changes to BD, that only 1 out of 20 would even care to recognize and appreciate. Imo tho, I don't think there is enough 'buzz' surrounding SC(4) at the moment to warrent a patch finnancially speaking as well as interest wise. Contrary to popular belief, I guess updating a game via DLC can be costly, if you have nothing to insure that you'll at least make your money back...and im not so sure a BD port would work (seems pretty different content wise). We all know, Namco isn't interested in breaking even on any business venture lol. But be that as it may, seems like they really DO care about quality and 'fan' service. Keep letting them know about 8wr and all the various international sites... and that the fans go beyond Starwars nerds and the kind of guy that would buy SC just to play with Kratos. We do exist...we just get drowned out ya know. This has all been said a hundred times and million different ways... Im just glad that even more people regongnize SC as a solid FG franchise now.

ANYWAYS, good luck guys! Call namco, don't just email...better yet, move to Cali/Japan and offer to test for them for minimum wage if you really care :). Show that Ichigo resolve!

Personally, I'd rather just see them work on a sequel of sorts, because I think artistcally the game has lost it's sense of culture regarding martial arts...making the world it potrays believeable and interesting and i'd like to feel the soul in soulcalibur again...but that's just me, hence why im typing this here instead of the Namco forum. Just...you know, I hope they keep riding that developmental momentum they have been riding since SC3:AE. As much as you all might think people going over to T6/BR is a bad thing, I think it's helping a hell of alot. Show's namco that when you make a blanced product, fans hardcore or not will shell out their time and money to support, making the community and the game thrive. With Tekken, the numbers say that...not just the fans. Go namco

Maybe I'm giving up hope too soon but I think SC4 is a lost cause. I think the focus should be on getting Namco to make SC5 with an honest effort to balance it.

An arcade release would be nice, but patches would work too, if they would be willing to put in the effort to patch it more than once if necessary.

I don't think it's right to place all the blame on Namco either. SC4 isn't as balanced as it could be, but people never gave it too much of a chance. We never saw tournaments with all top 5 players using Hilde, and she didn't win Nats or Evo. Most people just took one look at it and said "F this" and didn't really put in an honest effort to reach some compromise about the issue. They didn't really care about the game, that one flaw was enough for them to leave.

All I can say is that if Namco drops the ball again and makes some balance error in SC5, something should be done immediately before it follows in SC3/SC4's footsteps.

I agree its a lost cause, the game's been out for 2 years and no attention was given, even after T6 came out, they didn't bother to do a update or release a new expansion. At this point we just hope the project soul team is still around and are making SC5

ya i was hoping for some DLC...more armor or a new character or something....but if SC4 is a done deal then lets focus on a new and improved SC5. take some polls. take the good from each of the soul series and make it better....give us the option of using older character costumes. if not as a preset choice of the main characters then at least have the cloths and armor in CAS. little things like that make a huge difference. let us customize weapons as well as armor and cloths....i want seig with a Black Soul Calibur (Final Form)...with a white or gold aura(The sword not seig) and if i wanted seig to look all DBZ with an aura then damnit i should be able to do that....and yes this should all cost gold(as much as i play gold isnt an issue)...ill take it as DLC even...its time for some new characters. it should be like CODWAW(using as an example) even if u thought the game was trash the amount of DLC for that game was almost stupid...well i want more than that for SC and bet ur ass id buy it all

Why are you people giving up already?

Broken Destiny is still in the time frame that Dark Resurrection took to make the leap from PSP to console.

Too early to start quitting, IMO.

I agree that it's too early to throw in the towel. People that come across this thread should at least go throw up a post on that forum saying they support the cause. It really doesn't take much effort and there's a lot that stands to be gained, even if the chances are slim.

2 years? i didnt know that, i thought the game came out july last year, the thing is we have to convince namco to do something for this one, cause they are going to do the same thing about sc5, and then we are going to be seeing the same stuff over and over.

I may not be the genius and/or the best at Soulcalibur, but I love this game.
I usually check the general discussion; But I sometimes check soul arenas on my two mains.
Yoshimitsu and Seong Mi-na. I've also posted in that forum too. Is that being supportive?

I posted on the off chance someone from Namco would read and see it. I don't have high hopes. I'm pretty convinced that the actual team behind SC want to make the best game they possibly can. It's just that Namco as a company only sees the money. (And I would assume they make a lot of money off Tekken.NET and selling T6 cards. Which is why they give Tekken so much attention.)

SC4 is only a lost cause if you make it out to be one. It's a shame so many have quit the game, but it doesn't matter what NB does to the game, people are still going to quit and or move on to something else. It's just the way it is.

I'm just holding on to the slim chance that they'll reach out to us in the hopes of making the best game possible going forward. So if you haven't taken a few minutes yet to show your support, make sure that you register on their forum and post a response.
