SC Community needs to move on....

So... uh... is it too late for me to say a non-flame post?

In SC3, people claimed it was the glitches that killed it. In SC4, people are blaming balance. Next people will be blaming stages. I think we need to establish what makes a good game. You'll always find something to blame.

Remember that in SC2, the stages were HUGE. People were complaining that ring outs were way too hard to land at high level. Now it's the opposite. Come on people. There's stuff I don't like in all of the games, but you have to either tough it out or not play the game. You can't have complaining at this high a level (we should do a tier list for complaining).

The complaints only matter in correlation to turnout, gangs played SC2. Aside from VC in SC3, there was balance of course, and other random ass bullshit. Loved those how much do you hate SC3 vent threads.

Yeah Algol got banned early on, 5 people were pissed off, same 5 people are still here pissed off.

Hilde is banned 5 people are pissed off.

And I guess the rest of us that are still playing this game don't give a shit about those characters. So should tournament organizers decide what ruleset majors are to be run on, or the as usual the elites.

Get your popcorn.

yeah I decided to make a new sig

I think X in SC3 is still the most broke character the series has ever produced. So SC4s character balance is at least better than SC3s not to mention the lack of VC so we are much better off than we were before IMHO.

You make a good point in this post that people will always bitch about one aspect of the game and this goes for any fighting game. Unless there is only one character you can select in a fighting game perfect balance is impossible and just like you said 'Tough it out or don't play the game'.

Personally I think think Hilde shouldn't be banned. I haven't looked at the stats but from what you're all saying she hasn't been dominating tourneys. Furthermore in Australia we have 2 Hilde players both who can doom combo every time and have good mind games and I don't have too much difficulty with either of them. That said these 2 players aren't RTD or Cernian so maybe its not quiet the same.

Tier list for complaints:
A tier: Character imbalance
B tier: France banning star wars characters
C tier: Our community is dead!! its Hopeless!! *cries*

Massive debate threads such as this still on the site seems like proof that the community is not dead, thats my humble opinion anyway :).

If anything, i'll rep the TX/Southwest Region, i don't mind. And i don't think Idle does either. and also, i'll still keep up with lobo <3

Dino or OOF should be Canada's rep.
Idle should be Southeast's rep
someone from CA should be The Pacific's rep
and finally, you'll be the rep for NE

Meaning, 5 people = no possible way for a Tie. As well as it'll at that point be official for the community as a whole. Personally i don't see anything wrong with that...

now if anything Jaxel, i'll go ahead and suggest the 5 peeps that are ACTIVE on the forums should be desicioned by you, gotta have 2 sides to every rule :D

THAT'S A GREAT FUCKING IDEA CHICKENWING, I WISH I'D THOUGHT OF THAT....

I would think for their own tournies each region can do its own thing but for something like Nats I can see why we'd want a unified decision.

To other regions, I say running your own rulesets is perfectly fine, but it's the majors that matter. So for that if you have an opinion or a compromise or something to say about how majors should be run; so that people spend money to actually travel out of state for competition and a bigger pot, debate on that.

Leaders in each region should talk it out and come up with a national ruleset. Even if that region doesn't run tournaments anymore they should still be represented.

Everything i've quoted is either MY idea or some version of it. I'm glad other people decided that SHIT NEEDS TO BE DONE

To continue

SU: Each time you post it's becoming more and more evident that you're taking everything personal or your offended. Well my man no offense to you but i have to say this.

Get off your high-horse, sit the fuck down and SHUT THE FUCK UP!

i'm not trying to be mean. But you and like 3 others are bitching about what' going on...maybe if you and all the other assholes that seem to OVERLOOK post, this still wouldn't an argument.

Ceirnian: You also need to shut up, Period. Ever since you've been here you have YET to say something constructive on this thread. So you're pissed off about what's going on. you KNEW that people have had this problem since day one, you KNEW that this day might have come. And since you haven't prepared for this, you shouldn't get all butthurt for what has happened. And btw, you have YET to answer the question i have asked you when i quoted you.

if none of you all from norcal doesn't listen or worry about this thread, they WHY DO YOU BOTHER POSTING??? (i figured it would make it pretty so it can grab your attention)

Kingace: i would agree with about 90% of your post. However, i disagree with what you're saying about regionals. It like what i've been saying about the rule. You can't half ass it. Having regionals do thier own thing and then the Majors being the ultimate ruleset? Well that doesn't help C-Money to compete since he plays Hilde now would it. Sure it would be ok in TX tournaments, but he can't go to Majors because his character is banned. It doesn't make sense. If you're going to make a ruleset IT HAS TO BE UNIVERSAL, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Whodat: i told you to do this for me...but now it might seems that i might piss off some people....

oh well...

*eats popcorn*

CW: The problem is lets say for example, Mikosu wants to go to tournament in....Alaska...but they ban Tira there cause the Alaska players think she's annoying to fight. So now he decides not to go because the rules are different there. Then there is a Major in Wyoming, and the Alaska players go. Mikosu kills them all with Tira real bad and wins the tourney. Then the Alaska players will say that he only won because of Tira not his skills. The national committee decides that this must be true because the Alaska players are well known for being great at SC, so it clearly can't be their fault. As such, the national committee decides to ban Tira from Nationals, and Mikosu goes and cries in his room all alone.

Tiamat: no....that is

1. Irrevalent
2. Probably wouldn't of happened because of the committee
3. If they listen to my reasoning, if she was banned in Alaska, she'd be banned everywhere else...

Lol Tiagol I love you. No hetero.

Really that'd still be fine. Regions with bans assumably handicap themselves but it's at their discretion. If these characters who are banned regionally were allowed at a national level (read a unified national ruling) then it's up to those regions to get in that anti practice. You can't please everyone. Something has to give. Note that we all say national and not international.

Man I don't even know what people are arguing about anymore. Just a whole bunch of Egos running wild.

SU - Listen Carefully. Nobody here owes you ANYTHING.
Nobody here needs to please you. So why do you somehow think we care what you have to say?!?!
You constantly talk about how sick of this community you are, yet you seem feel you know all the ways to make it better?!?!
You constantly attack people who are MAKING DECISIONS for MORE THAN PERSONAL BENEFIT!! Same cant be said abuot you MR-GIMMIE-UR-DONATIONZ!!.

I tried to avoid paragraphs because I know you have trouble reading.

DO YOU HAVE A BETTER IDEA ON HOW TO MAKE THE COMMUNITY IMPROVE?!?! I disagree with banning a Normal character. But doesn't really affect Toronto Tourneys. However, you must be able to see where IDLE and JAXEL are coming from. I'm not saying to agree with them. I'm saying understand where they are coming from. If they have to Piss off the Few to Please the Many, thats the way she goes.

I really hope you read this. You constantly come in here downplaying peoples Opinions (many as fucked as urs), talk about not returning to threads, yet replying 5 minutes Later. Understand what people are saying here, instead of jumping to conclusions like OMG YOU DISAGREE WITH ME YOU MUST HATE ME FUCK OFF>!>

Do you see the childishness here? Wouldn't you just enjoy being able to talk about things constructively instead of flaming people left right and centre?!?! Just saying......

CERNIAN - WHOA??! YOU WERE COMMITTED TO THIS COMMUNITY?!? THAT YOU SHUN?!?! HUH?! WHERE WAS I?!?!

You can't blame RTD or Cedric for being upset for the way things are going now. When someone puts 1.5+ years into a character that they've been doing well with just to see said character banned, then it's more than justified for that someone to be upset. Should they have just abandoned Hilde early on because a ban might happen?

I don't know about RTD, but I know Cedric started practicing his Hilde without button binds when the call for banning button binding came. It was clearly the better alternative to banning a character entirely.

Chickenwing, i never said I was going to say anything constructive. I know it's useless and the ban will happen in certain regions so instead I'll just troll.

You're telling ME to shut up and sit down about this subject? How about you go actually get good at the game and then come back into the thread.

I think X in SC3 is still the most broke character the series has ever produced. So SC4s character balance is at least better than SC3s not to mention the lack of VC so we are much better off than we were before IMHO.
you really believe that? Hilde is a thousand times better than X was, Algol is better, and Amy prolly isn't better, but damn sure more annoying. Thugish is the ONLY one who really dominated with X, and the only person who utilized the full extent of her gayness. Nobody else I don't think was even cheap with her; I think about all other X players were easy to fight against. X actually took alot of skill to use, unlike these gay ass sc4 characters. Nothin wrong with VC, it just added more fun to the game. So, a better solution to this whole problem, is instead of running SC4 at GAMME, how bout you just run the best game ever made, SC3? awesome idea right...

The EC organizers have sent us a message... That they can ban whatever they want. That no one can stop them. Well we will send them a message. You ride out as fast as the internet can carry you... You tell the other scrubs to come. Tell them Soul Calibur calls to them! You fight now, with me! My brothers! Sisters! And we will show the EC organizers... That they can not ban whatever they want! And that this... this is our game!!
