SC5 'Ivy' Story/Possibilities/Speculation

Might as well get this started. :)

So, in the wake of SC5's announcement, Ivy will be 45 in SC5's timeline. I see several possibilities happening here:

1. She died before SC5. Her maimed soul gave out way before it.

2. Her maimed soul status actually impeded with her body's maturity -- a pseudo Cervantes where she's immortal/young, yet tied with Soul Edge still.

3. (not mutually exclusive from 1 or 2), she bears a now 17 year old child who inherited her sword.

As far as moveset goes, I think we all know that whoever's getting this moveset, whether Ivy or someone else, it'll be completely different from SC4 Ivy anyway. -_- *sigh*
 
Honestly, now that you mention it, I think it would be cool to see a child that wields her sword. A fresh new look with some new command grabs?!
 
Man I am almost scared to see what shreds of dignity she will still wear at 45. Maybe it will be just the whip sword, and it comes off as she attacks. O-o

Agreed, although unless they make drastic changes of how her sword works, I'm 90% certain it'll be a daughter. The weapon right now just doesn't lend itself well to a male character.

I hope it is a daughter.. I'm dying to see the next trailer. Hopefully we'll get a preview of some of the cast. HYPE
 
I see 4 posibility

1. Ivy dies due to Cery taking her soul, but she is then resurrected by her sword as a phantom.

2. She does not aged pass her prime due her being Soul Edge's creation . Soul edge created a being to wield the blade indefinitely, with out being drained of it's soul.

3. Ivy creates another body, and uses her alchemy to transfer what remains of her soul to it.

4. She create some kinda of potion that stop her ageing and keeps her fit for battle.

But I don't think we have to worry to much, Ivy is one of they'er most popular characters I am sure they'll create some deus ex machina, to make sure she stays the same. Sex sells after all
 
I thought Cervantes took Ivy's Soul but she somehow managed to survive using alchemy and she was able to wield soulcalibur in 4 because she no longer had evil in her. So im hoping that because of this alchemy and the fact her soul was taken that she doesn't age.. (Please namco let her stay and not be old)
 
Yes, she did use alchemy, and create an artificial soul, but that soul could not last, it was only temporary.

Only way for her to possibly get back her soul was for her to find some way to kill Cervantes. But her main focus was always trying to destroy Soul Edge. So he used the reminder of her life to atlest destroy Soul Edge before she'd died.

With SC5 apparently the only ending that was true was Siegfried ending. So Ivy fate is really unknown, but it still does not look good at all for her. Cause she will either be 49 years old or she could have died during the 17 years because she didn't get back her soul.

I doubt her soul being take away will stop her aging, because now she can wield Soul Calibur like anyone else. So she not special anymore. With the essence of Soul Edge in her blood, I could understand if she never ages. But still your point is a definite possibility that could happen.
 
They have said many times that she is immortal due to her blood being bound to her sword which is in turn bound to soul edge.

Her appearance only changed due to her soul decay like everyones bin saying. She will probably look younger in the V but still be 45.
 
I just hope she's still in, I don't care what they have to do to the story. They couldn't possibly get rid of her sword and style because it's just too original and awesome. And after all these Soul Caliburs the only one who can wield the Valentine is Ivy. No one else, even if it was her child or sister or some stranger who picked up the sword, would be the same.

Gameplay-wise, I hope they'll take her back to her SC2 days where she flowed better between her stances and had much more useful moves.
 
good thing is that her character is supposed to be a lil magical (knows alchemy) .. so they'll probably do some hocus pocus regarding transferring of her youth/ body clone / spirit / stop aging spell that drives her to fight or she'll age and turn into an old hag.

That's the last thing she needs right now. They already are ridiculous.

I am strongly convinced that they won't get rid of her style. Like Bojack13 said, it is just too original and unique.Question is... is she gonna stay as character or they replace her. I'd still prefer the original Ivy over some replacement regardless of her age. Her costume probably wouldn't be so "revealing", though.

The worst case scenario for me is her soul being transfered to another body (with a different appearance and voice actor in the process) I'd feel like playing some custom CAS character with Ivy's style.
 
Wait. . . if Sigfreids ending is right, doesn;t that mean Tira is dead? didn;t before you fight NM he would kill her? Idk.
I think Ivy will make something that makes herself not age, or maybe Zas sends all the characters forwards through time? like he does that all the time himself, that would make the most sense.

I also hope that they don't go this root and put her in a different body or just a clone her, cause it would turn out like this:


I really hated it when they change the original Japanese voice actress. But after getting use to SC4, I hope they don't change that. And the better give that Fa..hahaha laugh again. The engilsh voice actress did an ok job, but most of the grunt and moans noices were bad, so i don't mind if they change that voice. But again that voice should reflect Ivy persona.


I don't think she is immortal, but I would understand if Namco made her immortal because she had the essence of Soul Edge in her. But since Cervantes took her soul, she doesn't have the essence of Soul Edge in her. That why she was able to at least touch Soul Calibur,

Also Zasalamel is Immortal or his body always reincarnates itself. But I don't think he has powers of moving people through time.
I don't think Tira is dead as we only look at the final ending between Siegfried and Nightmare, not the in between stuff.


For game play wise, I want her to have her stance switching ability in SC4, mixed with SE having CS/SS, and also give Ivy Flaming CS/SS from SC2.
 
I think Sora's idea 2 is great a nice little loop hole for ivy to slip through and stay in the game. Then she could have a son/daughter that is going down the same road she was once on and her quest might be to stop them from making the same mistakes she did or to be a overlooker that will approach them sometime during there journey and weigh in on thier actions. Imagine If cervantes is still around lol the family drama would be pretty crazy with Ivy's child plauged by cervantes.

Edit: I hope She gets to keep some of her new moves like Sw6B, CL 236B,B and Wp6B, WpB~A+B(i really like this it gives her in game Whip the same livelyness of the trailers) there a coulpe of others but i know that everything can't/wont stay the same. Which is good(new moves to play with) and bad(new command grabs to try and learn T_T).

I doubt it! I can't imagine, even though she wears those skimpy outfits, that sex really matters to her at all, and that if she did have sex with someone it would be maybe for information? She seems a bit of a black widow, maybe she would fall in love, then sabotage the relationship. If she did have a child, i think she would be desperate for a good relationship with him/her (because of losing her parents, and her relationship with cervantes) she might become a nit over protective, smother mother and the child would resent her, ooo maybe cervantes could be reborn through ivy's child/possess ivy's child, ugh sorry for rambling!
