Hilde, Maxi, Tira and Voldo Confirmed for SC5!

  • Admin
A few hours ago, Daishi Odashima confirmed on his twitter that 4 characters would probably be revealed during GamesCom, in Cologne, Germany.
Probably 4 characters are going to be presented at GamesCom. Cross your fingers for your favorite character!
We now know, thanks to an exclusive video at 1UP GameVideos that Hilde, Maxi, Tira and Voldo have been confirmed for Soul Calibur 5! GamesCom hasn't officially started yet... so stay tuned for more!

I really liked the trailer. 3 new things I noticed that I don’t think anyone has commented on (everyone is still flipping out over which characters are / aren’t announced):

1. Music! Was this trailer’s music in any previous SC games (I only know IV)? Because it sounds great. Really exciting.

2. & 3. - New stages! Hilde is fighting outside the gates of some kind of dark looking castle, with a beautiful forest in the background. Pat is fighting in a more town-like courtyard with a more traditionally medieval castle behind the gates. Cool times two.

The music if Definitely From previous SC games.

Im not sure where the first track is from, but the 2nd is the character select theme from SC3.
Ah, it was mostly the first track I was referring to. But if ilTokyoli is right, neither is new. :-/

Agree with Franman, these characters look pretty good for “17 years older."

Tira...looks....just...AMAZING!! I liked her outfit alot and Hilde looks mostly the same but I honestly hope they balance her ala Talim SCIII. It also looks like in the trailer they've restored Ivy's breast size as well

They actually went to another company to do the music this time. All of the previous games' music was done by Namco employees.

These are the guys:

Eminence S.O. did SCIV music. More importantly, they’re just the orchestra, not the composer. Daishi already confirmed that the lead composer is the same.

They did? I dunno any of the composers but I did read an article that was talking about them being at GamesCon and made them seem like they were doing the music for the first time. You prob know more than me and got you on the composer note. But here's something else to check out:

Eh, it's looking nice. What more can I say? It's nice to see the confirmation of all these old characters and I'm sure their fans are happy. I'm a little more interested in what new faces are coming at the moment but it's nice to get these confirmations out of the way.

Right, it says there that Junichi Nakatsuru composed SCIV along with several others – including my personal fave, Keiki Kobayashi. Daishi confirmed that Junichi Nakatsuru is returning. He also made it sound like Keiki Kobayashi wasn’t, which I am not too happy about, but he only composed a couple tracks anyway (the best tracks, lol).

Eminence S.O. was hired to do the recording, for those sub-tracks that weren’t simply sampled/synthed, for SCIV (it’s on their “portfolio” page). This more or less means that we can expect SCV to be very similar both sonically and melodically to SCIV.

Perhaps though that Gamescom article you mention indicates that ESO will be used more heavily for the actual tracks. I suspect that although they were involved in SCIV’s recording, that it wasn’t fully orchestrated (actually just listening to it I know it wasn’t fully orchestrated). So this could be a “greater involvement” kind of deal.

Anyway this is all pretty off-topic by now, so I’ll shut up about it.

wait is it possible that siegfred and hilde are on the same side because they have eagle/hawks all over there armor and i think sieg has the same eagle crest that she does on her chest.

????

I'm glad it was Voldo and not some shifty recreation.
I'm kinda relieved, too. Having an "apprentice" would be downright creepy. o_e|||
Anyways, did you notice his eyes aren't covered anymore???
My mouth literally dropped when I saw his blank eyes.
