Soulcalibur V Invitational with Kayane on 9/23

Kayane, with the help and generosity of Namco Bandai, have come together to organize an event where the top Soul Calibur players in France have been invited to play the demo of Soul Calibur 5. The event starts Friday, 9/23 at 6:30PM local time and will also be streamed through Twitch.tv with Kayane answering questions that are given in chat.

I would like to thank Namco Bandai for allowing this event to take place and for our top players to get their hands on the game. Hopefully this is the beginning of more events to come for SC5. Check after the break for a list of local times and Kayane’s blog for additional details.

I just saw it and I am super excited for SC5 but I don't know how I feel right now... I can't quite put my finger on it. SC5 is the same but not... Not enough counter action that's for sure... And I don't know, It seemed weird. Maybe just needs more tweaking. Still it was cool, Maxi was awesome!

It was epic dude. That Maxi player tore Ivy apart overpowered CE and all.

In the fight with Mitsurugi i seen some solid looping going on. Too bad my homie couldn't bring it home for us :(

 

Was there any Zwei and Viola play at all?

 

Did I miss any Tira and Voldo gameplay? Those are the only ones I didn't see. Other than that, all is awesome.

I understand your sentiment. But, the good news is we can study the moves from the vids. I'm gonna try to help when I can. I'm exhausted from the awesome stream. How about you buddy? =)

 

In my opinion it was good enough to watch some experienced players finally get their hands on the characters. Natsu, Pyrrha and Maxi all looked awesome. As did nearly everybody else...but those three really caught my attention.

Except Tira, I only remember seeing one match with Tira in it (I was gone for a couple hours) but she got slaughtered by Ivy.

Yeah, that's true. Definitely going to go back and rewatch a few things, right now though, I think I've had my fill :)

I was thinking the same thing after every win pose.

ZWEI was picked like twice, once by Kayane I think, and Viola isn't in this build since they're still working on her moveset.

The audio in SC5 is great!! But they still used that lame tune from SC4 at the result screen :/ It sucks, its not near as good as the rest of the entire sound of SC5.

 

they showed one of eins attacks going right through a crouching opponent, i wonder if this was intentional to remove mid/low unblockables or if it was just on that one attack???
