there were "almost 80" participants according to I think Dr Dogg. 30 actual participants is probably a low estimate... but really it was the DEV staff's fault. Why wouldn't they announce the start of the brackets on a loudspeaker?

Whatever the final team is, the team better win it.

To me this team tournament is more than about money being on the line. Right now the SCV developers are favouring France. They believe that France is the best in the world right now. This is our chance to prove them wrong, and show them who they should really be coming to. France will get destroyed, the developers will notice us, come to us, SPONSER US? We'll see, but the first step is to destroy these guys.

I didn't realize it before, but I agree that Mick should the captain.

Also I challenge SCUD to a money match. Details later.

Truer words were never spoken. When I saw the comments Tago made on those interview videos I got a little pissed. My American honor was stung. This team tournament is not only about my $500 (but that is SO much more important) but like OOF said, it's about getting the developers where they need to be...America!
 
So if DEV was supposed to be 80+ through announcement and it was only 60+ in the actual brackets but 30 actually participated if its even that much then is it safe to assume the tourney was also free? Because otherwise u would have to refund 30 people their pot money. On top of that their was bracket issues. OMG! Can we say the worse structured tournament ever.

Thuggish drops in and posts once and already puts up money. What happened to the rest of the shit talkers that wanna get at the French?
 
There were 60+ people who participated in the Dev tourney. I know because in the first pool alone there were 20 people in there, and there were 4 pools. But like Xeph said earlier, most of those people were random scrubs. It would have been cool if they would have done a top 16 tourney instead of a top 8. With proper seeding in the pools we could have had all the 8wayrun members who were present at Dev occupy all 16 slots.

Anyhow, this NEC will definitely be the biggest SC4 tourney this year skillwise, with summerjam coming in 2nd.

The French need to start calling some people out. After all this shit talk it would suck to see only 2 people truly stepping up to the French (me and Thuggish). People aren't even challenging Scud. Wtf is going on in here.

a: well over 30 people participated. it was around 70.
b: once again, you are a dipshit for commenting on something you know nothing about and were nowhere near seeing or understanding, as is the case in 99% of your posts.
c: what do you mean "refund pot money" when the event was a sponsored pot and entry was for the event and not individual tournaments...for every game...oh wait, you have no clue what you are talking about. i keep forgetting this.
d: perhaps next time, you should show up and 'save it' like you do for everything else...if it was the worst structured tournament ever, why don't you show us how to do it better? after all, you have that series of events to save the community that you announced over a year ago that are gonna...oh wait...

The difference between France and the USA is that while you have a few really good players, they are accompanied by a bazillion morons. And they know how to use twitter. So even if im not french myself and my country doesnt get any SC5 love too, im happy Namco doesnt ask any opinion of the US scene.

In France almost anybody knows their shit, so its the best country too look at. Believe me we all profit from that circumstance. France doesnt have a Yoshicookie.
