Ivy SCIV->SCV Changes

Input is 28284666B+G (In reality, it's like 2828465656 B+G because you have to go back to neutral twice... it probably won't be possible to pull off this command throw as fast as SC3/SC4 ones)

iCS has not been found yet.
Ugh, I was half decent at her SCIV one as well =\ I love it when she says Ensnare! too :\

EDIT: Omg it looks retarded now. She doesn't even laugh o.O

Well, english isn't my native language but doesn't she say "Now sing for despair" ? It's a little hard to understand. If there is an iCS, she will probably scream something else or laugh.

For CS, I believe she says "Now sing for a sinner!".

For SS, it sounds like "Shred Apart".

Interestingly the second CS had the first 28 bufferred, so it at least provides good wakeup pressure as the step and run in necessary means you have a poential mind game for CH fishing on wakeup following a step and against a more defensive player, you still get the throw/mid mixup anyway =/. Ivy players are going to start throwing on wakeup like Keev's NM does now, lol. (step, run, step, run, throw)
Just looks more situational but still perfectly usable from that.

These have to be my favourite IV quotes for Ivy:
I really hope iCS is returned because her CS looks weak..

Ivy´s 2A seems to have a very good hitbox now! it´s something... I think this Ivy needs old SW 66K! I want to spam it again!! <3

Is my imagination or Leixia´s AAB BE have a lot of + frames on block? because she beats Ivy attack after that two times :S

Won't be the only time Ivy gets beaten up by Leixia, so Ivyplayers, I suggest you better start getting used to that. ;-)
I hated X, so I'm going to hate Leixia. I take it that X's crybaby has returned?

Isabella neo was attacking at disadvantage all the time.
Ivy's CS seems weaker. Is it?

Plus, is this Isabella Neo guy a regular player? He seems to be fighting at a disadvantage all the time lol.

Back in 2007, he was the best Ivy player in Japan and possibly the second best Ivy in the world. Then he went to military from what I heard... he's back for SCV and that's a good thing.

Who is the best currently? (In SCIV).

Malek?

Scud. Unless Whoahhzz can pull something out of his ass at NEC, that's pretty much undisputed - he's called the machine for christ sake XD.
(Currentlly, Malek is #5 in France overall, Scud is #1 - though Ring probably knows the most about SCIV Ivy out of anyone and is up there in terms of ability. Dude's fucking scary to play against.)

Anything can happen in Ivy mirrors. No player has any advantage here. And don't rule Malek out, he can win NEC too. There's also Linkrkc who may be rusty but he can make up for that with his almost unmatchable technical skills, Eli with his unpredictable Ivy, and the list goes on.

Also, this is getting offtopic so let's get back on the subject.

Before we do - I'm not ruling Malek out, he is a god, its just that Scud is THE MACHINE! Lol.
Both the French Ivy's are more than capable of wiping the floor with our American brethren, I just think that when push comes to shove, Scud > Malek nowadays.
As highlighted in the NEC thread:

Heh heh heh heh heh.

Anyways, back on topic =D

I’m probably not going to add anything new, but here are some impressions about SC5:

A+B~A was still not fixed in this build.

All of us (Link, Eli, Woahhzz) thought CS was hard—awkward to do. Rolling from 8 to 4 on the stick seemed to help.

3B reminded me of 3B from SC3; it’s less punishable.

I couldn’t get the 5-hit, but Link ripped it out like every time. I couldn’t get the timing right, but if it’s as easy as it is in SC4, then there should be no worries.

214 B is punishable—but not by anything (so far) that does bad damage (I think the worst thing that I ate was 2K).

22A is definitely better than in SC4; not as good as 44A from SC3 though…

3[K] is definitely + on block—a lot.

214A is hilarious! I landed it three times on different opponents (at one point I looked up at Link and we both were chuckling at the damage).

BB/ [ B ] is very nice—really deceptive.

I did manage this one: 8B ~FC 1B~6B9 BE. That shit was hot!

Step~CE is downright awesome. It’s pretty easy to get almost 180 around an opponent for this. What doesn’t work: a frontal assault with CE; my opponents ducked constantly. Hell, just step by itself was awesome. I was surprised at the movement in the game; it’s what makes the game fun. The movement in SC4 is terrible. It’s like moving in sludge compared to the other SC games (one of the chief reasons why I never liked SC4). But that is not the case in this game. The game is fun because of the step!

I tried to land CH with bK, to see if I could get CH bK, bK, but no luck.

CE seems to be able to be ducked at times; sometimes the animation starts when the opponent is standing, but then he was able to duck. But there were other times when he was not… I was told by one of the developers that CE will be easier to pull off when the game finally drops next month.

SS was definitely ducked on reaction a few times. What is really annoying is to waste meter with that when you could be saving that juice for something better, lol…

I’ll let Eli, Link, and Woahhzz post their observations. Unfortunately, I couldn’t spend too much time with the game; I had—have—work to do…

Thanks for your impressions. I eagerly await to hear from other Ivy's.

Looks like you guys played the same build. I think it's safe for me to say now that the only change between the old one and this one was nerfed 4A+B aGI- the frames activate slower, it's no longer 1-frame aGI startup like in SC4/BD.

I lied. 9B+K is side techable after 6B8 BE. I thought it was free because I asked someone to tech roll it and they said they couldn't tech at all. It does tech catch if they tech one direction (I think backward), though.

I'm going to put down some random notes because I just got home and I have two final exams in six hours. Which I of course neglected studying for so I could play SC5. I'll say more later.
  • I'm not a believer in 4A+B. Lots of moves get auto-GIed, sure, but since it repels the opponent, often they're out of range and able to punish Ivy while she's stuck spinning her whip.
  • CH 4K, B+K works
  • BT 2K was the only thing I could combo from 22B BE. I tried turning around and doing either bK or 2A+B, but neither worked.
  • CS was weird at first, but I got used to it by the end
  • CS and CE damage seem about the same. Save your meter unless you need an unbreakable throw.
  • CE has no auto-GI or super armor properties. (I remember this being speculated because of the blue glow)
  • A+G break window doesn't decrease when you BE it, or if it does it's not by a large amount.
  • Her damage seems low ... but I mainly played against strong characters like Siegfried so I can't say if it's lower than average. Maybe the strong characters just have obscene damage output.
  • GI'ing someone doing a jumping move floats them. This messed me up, haha.
  • 3[K] isn't the same. This game sucks.
