Insta M rating.Soul Calibur needs a excessively vulgar character. Just screaming obscenities as he/she fights. That would be so fun lmao. The lil battlecry thing will be "FUUUUUUUUUUCCKKK!!!"
Insta M rating.
Soul Calibur 4 needed an M with dental floss Ivy. Haha they dodged a bullet with that. But lets be real, I dont think everyone had Teen Friendly dialect in the time frame SCV is in.
Cervantes definitely needs to polish his "pirate etiquette" if he wants to avert Teen Friendly/Cap'N Crunch status in SCV, LMAO.
I somewhat disagree with #2 when we have characters like Mitsurugi, whose basically a traditional, yet stereotypical samurai representing Japan. From my understanding, this person appreciates Zasalamel because he represents African characters in a media that doesnt do so very often. My issue with it is two things:
1. He's giving Zas a bigger meaning than he actually has
2. It's hard to believe, but NONE of the characters in Soul Calibur can represent any of the countries they came from

When it comes to technicality though, Zasalamel doesn't represent any country because he can have the ability to reincarnate into any shape or form. That includes ethnicity and gender.
This is unless Zasalamel has a bias for wanting to reincarnate as men of African ethnicity, or heritage.
The maps are based on historic times, of course, and actually, yes, samurai existed at that time, as well as that aspect of culture. He may be a samurai, but that's a part of history. He cant represent Japan if that aspect of the culture no longer exists. The world in SC may be in the real world, but the maps and cultures are far different. For instance, many players identify the Alexandra family as Greek, but they were born as Ottomans in their time. Then theres the added fact that some characters dont have a direct origin (Setsuka, Tira, Zewi, etc), there's characters who live in the same nations (do Raph and Amy BOTH represent France even though it was a part of an empire), and some characters are rather difficult to be seen as representatives (Voldo representing Italy?)
Anybody ever stop to think that Zwei's stuff is "Unknown" for a reason and not "Lazy" on Namco's part. Besides I never saw anything say that the characters had to be 100% grounded in reality anyway.

The reason why we identify the Alexandra family as "Greek" instead of Ottomans, is for many reasons:
1. Many players don't even care about the history, or don't even care to research it, because...well....this is a game, but the game itself makes sure to have the character's locations and in some cases, life, based on that timeframe. Probably the #1 reason of the three.
2. It's in many peoples' brains that Hephaestus, Sophitia's guide, is a "Greek" god, or an Olympian.
3. Sophitia and others are from present-day Greek, so people label them as Greek. Just like how Talim is identified as "Filipino" instead of being from Southern Asia, because she's from present-day Philippines.
Z.W.E.I. is really just a lazy way for Namco to not even do the research like they've been doing for other characters, and label the character as "Unknown" on everything and not even try to give him a backstory. It's like Z.W.E.I. just fell out of the sky with the wolf following behind him. At least with Viola, since we obviously know it's Amy, she has a backstory, but she does not remember it. Unless Z.W.E.I. had amnesia himself, there is really no excuse for it.
Characters like Setsuka could actually have one theory: She is a part of the whole "Europe going to Japan" deal during that time, and they've been so accustomed to their culture, like how Rock is with the Native Americans. In Setsuka's case though, I guess her parents left her in Japan.
That is true. We'll see once the game releases whether his story is explained or not.This. he may very well have a backstory, but it'll be saved for the actual game for us to find out the reasons for his unknown birth place, age and ambitions.
