So what if they have devastating damage?? If you defend and evade well while putting on good offense, all of raph's little damages will add up and eventually drain their life bar.
what do you say about half bar i12 punisher?
or 45dmg i10 punishers?
Or even better BE tech crouch, Tech step; aGI, Safe; launcher that will RO from long distance, and deal the usual half damage? (and i probably forgot some properties XD)
When i complained about raph i was probably wrong...raph is not good...but the problem compared to half cast that is awfully broken he got huge matchups problems (considering a competent opponent obviously if opponent is bad just spam SE).
well aside complaints what i found in week end tests:
66B is awesome at melee, most players know how to handle raph on prediction....so when you have advantage at short range running into them (obviously at short distance) and 66B at kissing range will force them to block.
This leads to the ONLY se mixup raph has that is: entering prep SE or stopping 66B and attacking.
Other SE attempts are punishable both on block than on HIT aside risking (on hit) prep K.
There is no more spacing options to save other entry and 44AB is pure trash.
AA and 2A are the only option against step blockers any other move will be blocked.
Raph damage comes most from 11K and 33B the latter is awesome in CH.
B throw is also awesome.
22A is good to limit opponents movements but will be blocked and its risky against many characters.
Raph prep BE is one of the easiest moves to JG and charges opponent CE bar a lot but if used wisely at 2 bars (usually last round) will break opponent guard and leave him open for 33K:BE, CE (considering how hard is to land 22B its not a waste).
A+B is awesome, and the only other raph mixup....hoping they won t have an i16 TJ you can mixup it on block if you think that they will jump, just try to stop the string and evade and punish.
P.S. about the nightmare matchup...
Night relies on many highs, actually raph is full of reverse mixups extremely good for raph.
So if you block a string starter you got plenty tools to answer (from 4B to 44B and fc3B etc etc).
Even burst is not a problem for raph you can punish the hell out of him and most tools you use recover even if aGIed before the "explosion".
