I am not sure why you guys are getting mad! I was not trying to offend anyone. The fact is this is all of this is "disk lock content" That is the reason you have to download the packs.

1st of all no one can argue that 1p2p is not already on the disk! Right ?

2nd All those packs contained some serious polygons, they are not 34 mb.

3rd look at all the proof we have already of all the stuff on the disk.

4th why is it so hard for you to believe that NAMCO is doing this ?

5th Why would talking about this upset anyone ? (yes the situation is upsetting, but talking about it shouldn't)

@ Warui: You are so crude dude, stop attacking me, people have a right to say what they wish. And me bringing this information is not a bad thing. Again i am confused why so many on this thread refuse to believe this ? Do you really think NAMCO is above greed ?

@ bello: again not sure why you got so upset. But by all means debate away dude, just don't attack. there's is no need too...

In order:

-Yes, you can argue about it, as what we are getting is a bit more difficult and different than just slapping on an entire outfit onto a character (with no consideration for body type or making it feasible for the creator) not to mention separating individual pieces when clean cut, easy "breaking points" were not thought out when the object was made (such as different clothing sections overlapping and mixing for a more "natural" look then just making it obvious sections per body part).

-True.

-What is "on the disk" as you say is just thumbnails added with each DLC pack in the game files, the actual data for the items is what we get in the DLC pack as far as I know. Prove me wrong and show it is a minor change in coding and we have the full object and I will change my position.

-Why is it so hard to believe EA, Activision Blizzard, Sony, Microsoft, Capcom, or any other company is doing this? Labels do not make your point, especially when you are trying to point out something that is pretty much a general rule at some level. Namco is not any different than any other publisher.

-Well, if you are wrong, it is upsetting when an idea/opinion is made on unfounded beliefs with incorrect statements, points, and information. I can flip the tables and ask why so sensitive.

-(in regards to your comments to specific posters) The moment you make a post or try to bring in a statement, you will receive replies either criticizing or congratulating them. Your defense is on information you believe is relevant and helpful, at which point a reply is alluding to your information and/or point is incorrect/illegitimate. This creates a discussion/debate. My personal issue with this is that you have made this post despite the fact it is a page behind and the debate has already been dropped and left behind to stay on topic on the actual store. If you feel personally insulted, go and have a private discussion with them and keep the thread clean instead of repeatedly dumping the bucket we refill.

On topic: Considering the thumbnails released show an estimate of 120 pieces of equipment that have not been released yet, I cannot wait for the next few months. If everything shown is released, there will be more than enough variety in comparison to launch (although the more the merrier).

My only complaint is that we cannot get all this stuff at once. I agree though, more faces, hairstyles, and the skeleton voice would be appreciated on my end.

@ Vulcan: Sonic 4.2 is already out. I'm only bothered by the fact that there's no demo for me to confirm it's a more expensive form of nostalgia than the rereleases.

Tuesday's DLC, I'm betting...

SCV Equipment Pack 2(Cervantes/Ivy/Leixia/Natsu/Xiba)
Accessory Pack 2(3x hairstyles/random kanji/skeleton underwear/Japanese opera mask)
Modern Pack 3(boxing gear/tracksuit/disappointment)
I was thinking that we might get the SCV equipment pack @, but the Tekken Pack 2, Hair Pack, Misc. Pack 2, and School equipment might be possible too. I'm actually not going to speculate on what packs to expect any further, since we might not get any of that stuff next week and get a bunch of crap. I really expected that Ivy equipment last week :p

Well I would like to hope that one of the new packs will be a Soul Calibur 5 Character Equipment Pack. I bought the first one and I really have found lots of uses for the outfits (except Viola's Soothsayer Hood, Patroklos' Justice Coat, and Omega Pyrrha's Sorrowful Aketon *the one with the arm, they should have made that a separate glove item*).

I'm going to guess and say the next SCV Equipment pack will have Leixia, Natsu, Ivy, Cervantes, & Xiba. Though I would really hope they would even out... Like the first pack had 4 females (Pyrrha, Omega Pyrrha, Viola & Elysium) and 2 males (Patroklos & Zwei). So next time in the future, I'd hope they offered 4 females and 4 males because I'd really like to see Raphael & Maxi's equipment make it in. xD

I also wanted omega's arm to be a glove (or gloves) and unisex.
It looks like yoshi's 1p top is going to get the same treatment. :(
I wanted somthing like this.
WARNING: A TERRIBLE PICTURE EDIT AHEAD.

While that is true, the number of costumes was the same.
4 male costumes(Zwei 1p and 2p, and Patroklos 1p and 2p)
4 female costumes(Pyrrha 1P, Elysium 1P, Viola 1P, and Pyrrha Omega 1P)
So it was still evened out.
If anything, female characters got the short end of the stick because the only difference with the Sorrowful set and the Woeful set was the arm.

Yeah, you're right... My bad. The Woeful set was pretty much the same thing... They should have just just separated the arm and made it a glove item.

I wish they release a bigger SCV characters pack, rather than just the expected "Cervantes, Ivy, Xiba, Natsu and Leixia"... I'd sacrifice a lot of my MS points for them!

EDIT: I just hope something... I hope Ivy's 1P will be compatible with Viola's gloves... I need that combo for my custom char!
:(

Having actually looked at the DLC files, I can assure you it's not using anything from the disc. Anything from the compatibility packs are DLC made after the game was finished. The SC5 outfits is based on stuff from the final game, but they have to do extra work to make it compatible with CAS. The outfits in the game are a single model. To make those work for CAS, they need to make the outfit into small separate models, and then do what ever extra work necessary to make it compatible with CAS size changes.

You could argue it's less work compared to creating all new outfits (which they're also doing), but there's no doubt that this wasn't waiting to be unlocked on the disc. And for the record, those file sizes are real. For each model, the actual model takes maybe 300kb, and the textures takes up to several megabytes.

Actually, I don't see the arm working with anything other than the Woeful Aketon. I don't see how it could possibly work as a glove item. If you look at how it was designed, the aketon's right sleeve had to be completely torn off for the arm to be there. If you wanted to equip it with something like the Tight Shirt, there would either be incompatibility issues or massive clipping with the arm sticking through the right sleeve unless they decided to remove it. That's probably why her Character Creation model has the arm removed. The same principle will undoubtedly play with Nightmare and Yoshimitsu's arms.

I hope it's the ponytails. I really need that. I think I may buy the colonial wig too. George Washington as a samurai? Sounds good to me.

That swan armor looks pretty awesome too. I hope we'll see that soon.
I was thinking more about George Washington Astaroth. Six-foot-twenty-fuckin'-killin'-for-fun.

You COULD argue for this. I don't think it's that simple but it's debatable.

2nd All those packs contained some serious polygons, they are not 34 mb.
Those 34MB downloads are the thumbnails. Everything else has it's own size.

3rd look at all the proof we have already of all the stuff on the disk.
What proof? You tell us to look, and give us nothing to look at.

4th why is it so hard for you to believe that NAMCO is doing this ?
Why is it so hard to address any of the actual points and evidence I made?

5th Why would talking about this upset anyone ? (yes the situation is upsetting, but talking about it shouldn't)
The idiocy of people complaining about nothing, providing no back-up for their arguments and continuing to harp on about how 'right' they are is upsetting.

@ bello: again not sure why you got so upset. But by all means debate away dude, just don't attack. there's is no need too...
I would debate, but since you've provided nothing to back-up your statements, it's not really a debate is it?

Feel free to begin addressing any of my points at any time. You claim you want a civil debate, but all you've done is ignore any legitimate counter-arguments.

Thank you for being sensible. People should just calm down, it's not like they're entitled to free DLC. Nothing is free, so chill your nips and listen to this wise master?

I refer you to my profile page. If that's calm, wise behaviour, then I'll buy a new hat with the sole intention of devouring it.

Gentleman there is so much proof!!!

Then feel free to post it at some point. You want a discussion, and that's how they work.

I'm all for civil discussion, but as your second post on my profile points out, you're a hypocrite. You'll win no allies that way, and have already forfeited the right to any moral high-ground you might've previously claimed.

good points.
My hope was for them to develop some sort of work around for yoshi N.M. and O.P..
in yoshi's case maybe the core becomes like the picture i edited.
IMO i would take them with the clipping or compatability issues.
i would just be savy on how i use them.
I miss the days of picking the 1p or 2p arm for N.M. and yoshi.

Since I am an IT guy and I actually get how this stuff works, I'll throw in my two cents on the DLC delivery debate we've got going on here.

When the game first came out, there were a small number of creation parts that were available as DLC. The reason you could see them on other characters even if you didn't buy them was because the items were locked away on the disc. The only stuff that was locked away on the disc were the DLC costume items before the Cepheus store, the DLC music, and a few unused story mode clips. At least as far as I know.

When you download the Cepheus compatibility packs, you get the data for every single item that is purchaseable within that pack. You need to have that data in order for you to see it on other characters using it. Otherwise, you get that little message "Unable to load downloadable contents, blah blah blah" at the start of matches where other characters are wearing DLC parts. I am actually okay with this kind of DLC delivery and certain kinds of on-disc DLC for this reason; they want to sell you extra stuff, but they don't want you to have to jump through hoops just to be able to see when other players have it. If you've ever played Quake online on a server with custom maps and skins in the late 90s or early 2000s, it's probably not hard at all to sympathize with this stance.

As for the thumbnails? Well, I think that's just them teasing us since there's no reason they should think we're not gonna find them, and no reason for them to even have the thumbnails there in the first place. They're only thumbnails. Not even that high of resolution, either. And I'm actually okay with this; I'll be sad when a pack comes out and there are no thumbnails; that means they're probably done releasing packs.

Now, back on topic...

That white dress. Oh my god. If that's as long as I think it is, that's going to be a 3P costume for Ellie. But I still want my flared long skirt! I'm tired of hacking about with the rococo skirt since it's clearly designed for a certain costume type, and the normal long skirt just doesn't flow at all and has clipping issues like crazy.
