Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Unlimited

Isn't she like... supposed to be old or something?
... I guess not, Namco Rule no. 1: Women don't age. If they do, kick them out.

Speaking of which, I think an old hag character in one of these games would be interesting to play as. Oh well.

1:14 Drake:

Well. . . I guess I have a video for everything. And, yeah, I think Michelle has 41 ~43 years old in Tekken Tag 2.

Mi-na...

Wait, it just occurred to me.

This is... This is Patch no. 1. If history serves me right, Namco is good for 1 big patch post-release. I believe that was with T5DR and T6, too, no?

Hacked files revealed that the DLC characters were planned from the start, and characters that were going to be revealed later (to say "look, we're still working on the game!") like Slim Bob are on your disc right now as we speak.

The SCV 1.02 balance patch may have been planned too. Maybe not... That's conspiracy stuff...

I did recall that Mitsurugi's 236B hold glitch was patched but I can't remember if that was after 1.02. I know Pat's A+B glitch is still in here.

Let's see if TTT2 gets a second patch after this one... If Namco doesn't actually follow continuing support for their games, I'll not get mad when I expect them to. in which case, I'll just be happy with whatever I get from them...

Practice mode is starting to feel iffy to me.

You can set 5 record functions... which looks cool, but you can't combine those record functions with action settings like you can in SCV.

Like, if I want to check frames. In SCV, I can do this by having Stand All Guard (or Stand Normal) for the first action, and then a recording for the second action. I can check punishment, advantage/disadvantage, situational options, can I backdash here, etc., etc.

In TTT2... I can make recordings but I can't have the other guy block first. WTF? How hard is this to implement?

How are people working around this (aside from having a friend help out with a second controller)? Anybody know?

If you don't have a good tutorial mode, people probably won't get better, but they can do it if they try. It takes a lot of effort, but it's possible.

If you don't have a good practice mode, people definitely can't get better. At least not without losing all the time.

I hate this "feel it out" stuff. You need numbers and you need information and raw facts, and you need the controlled environment where you can find those facts. You need to be able to run simulations so that you can know what to do when the situation comes.

Dammit man! This is Day 1 stuff! Come on!

People say that Project Soul and team Tekken work together, but it doesn't seem to me like they do. Just put Soul Calibur's practice mode into Tekken, and put Tekken's Hit Analysis into Soul Calibur. Is that so hard? Why is this not happening?

Can't you just go into defensive move and have the CPU attack while you defend and then punish opposed to you attacking a guarding CPU that then does a recording?

Flip it, huh? OK, I knew I was missing something.

I remember testing situations using the record function in earlier Tekken titles. It's still ass-backwards compared to SC practice mode, but you gotta do what you gotta do, I guess.

that's like ... pretty nitpicky if u ask me lol ... have you ever tried t6's practice mode? haha
Yes.

It was TERRIBLE then. But I didn't know what the hell I was doing in the first place back then, so it wasn't an issue.

If I recall correctly T5DR didn't even have practice mode until T5DRO came out. I'm not too pleased with Namco's track record in this regard.

SCV was the perfect storm. Improved practice mode from SCIV, netcode good enough to bring legitimate players online, fleshed-out replay function. Bang- power from nothing. An online warrior like me could actually get skills that were actually worth something.

Being able to acquire power... Being able to get better at the game... Makes you more than a casual or a one-time player. That's "brand loyalty".

And Namco won't even officially give out frames so players can get better. I just don't get it. You're literally losing money by not turning casuals into diehards. I just don't get it.

Something about TTT2s online is really fucking with me.

I'm constantly red ping no matter what I do. I connect to my friends flawlessly despite being deemed a red ping, since I'm always red ping I can't find ranked matches, and when I turn connection restrictions off I'm put up against a genuine lagger.

Literally done everything connection and port forwarding wise but no result.

kinda a dumb question, but you are on a wired connection right? try going to speedtest.net and post your results ?

I wonder when they'll release the soundtrack for the console version. I've been in love with the Arcade version (pretty much the same thing), but once I heard that Brazil stage, I began to cheat on the Arcade version.

Yeah I have bad net but that doesn't explain why I'm given red ping despite the game being flawlessly smooth.
