US Government Shutdown

Lol, not that anything in this topic that 20 people at maximum will read matters. With that said, I feel assured that the same morons who claimed PS4 had "free to play" online, and Watch Dogs was a PS4 exclusive are now discussing Obama Care? LOL!!
WTF does Sony have to do with Obama?
Obama Care is crap, you're average premium for standardized insurance will be around $200 a month. If you defend Obama Care you're either a Leftest Liberal, or just plain stupid. (Usually it's a combination of the two.)
What? The Obama administration is moderate to far right compared to every other place in the civilized world (not counting middle-eastern regimes). The only people who think Democrats are too liberal/leftist are Americans who think Fox News is anything but corporate propaganda.

What's funniest of all is that the Affordable Care Act was actually originally introduced by House Republicans during the Clinton years (and was implemented in MA by Governor Romney ten years ago). Real leftist healthcare only exists in Canada, Scandinavia, and a couple of other EU countries (and it's worked wonders so far). Obamacare wouldn't do anything to you if you're already insured, it just helps people who don't already have healthcare because of either preexisting conditions or financial circumstances.

Since I'm not from the US I don't know or understand why you don't have a National Health Service that is paid for via your taxes like our country.

It's probably an obvious answer like, "Maybe because the US is 50 times bigger than the UK" or something.

Oh no! Someone has disagreed with the all mighty Darren?? This cant be true!! You are all morons now. Close thread ause he is the upmost respected member on 8wayrun. The rest of us are all a bunch of idiots.

/close thread before we say something else that angers his royal highness

WTF does Sony have to do with Obama?

Nothing, neither did your "tea in the harbor!" reference. I was simply stating that this board has a history of saying idiotic, false things, then later realizing they were wrong, like claiming PS4 had free online. God forbid those same people move on to political discussions...

Did you just call it by it's proper name? Leftest confirmed. Are you going to be okay if they try to take all the guns away next? One step at a time, limiting ammo magazines, limiting weapons sold, raising the cost of concealed fire arms, before limiting weapons completely. Leftest Democrats are like poison that take your liberties away, one step at a time.

Obamacare wouldn't do anything to you if you're already insured, it just helps people who don't already have healthcare because of either preexisting conditions or financial circumstances.

Are you retarded? It's going to make health care MORE EXPENSIVE, it's going to make it that you can't choose your health care plan, it's a way of getting young healthy people who don't need health insurance to now have to buy it. So that way the amount of money that young people who normally wouldn't have bought insurance, are now REQUIRED to buy health insurance on a standardized plan, so that way the extra boost in money re-distributes the wealth to sick people with pre-existing conditions.

It violates the principle of self-responsibility, people should pay for what they receive. End of conversation.

Ya'll do realize IJ isn't worth the time of day, and yet you still humor him... it's like let him have his stupid comments, laugh at him and his stupidity, and just move on.

LOL. Gotta love how people are still stuck in the cold war. Health is a human right, there's no left or right attached to it. It's amazing how some people don't see it as such. Guns have nothing to do with this debate BTW, I don't see how believing everyone is entitled to health insurance is in any way related to someone's stance on gun control (but protip: nobody is advocating taking away anyone's guns, even the people in favor of gun control).

Oh, and the tea "reference" was a reddit joke.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

obviously since he is the president. oh wait it was a conspiracy, right?

96% of black people voted for him, racism much? He's biggest supporters are stupid college students, he screwed over Medicare by saying John McCain was going to cut 700 billion from it, labeling it as "An attack on old people!"

Meanwhile after Obama gets re-elected he instead cuts 800 billion from Medicare and labels it "Eliminating wasteful spending".

The guy is a hypocritical moron, he promises one thing, then delivers another.

It is quite strange really, Brazil have a universal medical care, we are indeed lacking in some areas, and the ones that can afford, have private assurance. Now the ones who really don't, well they can count in the problematic "free" one.

Making you pay more for health insurance, forcing you to buy health insurance altogether, making it so hand-guns cost more than rifles due to federal taxes, limiting the amount of ammunition you can purchase, banning online Poker, raising the overall cost of health care, opposing states ability to void Federal mandates.....

You soon realize the Republicans are fighting for your liberties, Obama is just fighting for more control over you.

In the UK we have a free healthcare service called the NHS (National Health Service) which is paid for out of our taxes.
That is one thing I love about the UK. Plus I hear that Parliament actually LISTENS to the people. I mean face it, us US citizens really don't get a say in anything unless it has to do with our state government. We have a stupid "electoral college" that sits and votes for who they want as president while us people, we're just a popular vote. Honestly, the US could really learn from the UK. Scratch that, we could learn a lot from the UK.
Call it slanderous but that's just how I feel.
Like my friend once said to me "I love our country, but hate our government."

Obama made fun of McCain for trying to cut 700 billion from Medicare as an attack on old people, when Obama gets elected, he cuts 800 billion from Medicare.

Explain that, please.

They generally do, yes. However as with all governments they still sometimes do stuff that is completely against what we want.

But a good example of them doing what we want is probably involving the Syria situation. They asked us if we wanted to go to war, we said no, and they said okay.

So we aren't going to war.

Edit: IJ maybe you are just listening to the wrong people who are giving you the wrong facts, that's kinda how biased people work.

Right, fuck young people for working towards having a better future. Everyone should just take menial jobs and spend all of their disposable income on stocks.

Also, your spelling could use some "colleage," as you put it.

We're by far the nation that spends the most on medical-related expenses, and yet we have nearly 47 million people who don't receive any healthcare at all. We're doing it wrong, and Obama knows it. That's why he's pushing for health reform in the first place.
The guy is a hypocritical moron, he promises one thing, then delivers another.
AKA: Every politician in human history.
His biggest supporting state is California.
Gee, wonder why. Maybe it has to do with the fact that Republicans openly insult Hispanics, Blacks, and gay people (of which there are tons in Cali)? Hm...

LOL. It was Bush who created the Patriot Act, the PRISM spying mechanism, and the "war on terror" (aka: get rid of all political dissonance both internally and abroad). Neither party is interested in protecting your rights, the only difference between the two is which rights they want to take away from you.

For a lack of time on my part (or because I don't give a fuck to explain things to people who probably won't read anyways.) Obama Care never should have been passed in the first place.

Actually, I was watching a program where a market analyst who's specialty happens to be healthcare addressed Obamacare, for the average individual Obamacare will be 80% cheaper than current insurance rates. If you want a dramatic example, we can use one from Texas, which has actually set up several legislative roadblocks to obamacare. And yet a family of four, living in Dallas Texas and making 50,000 dollars a year can get medical coverage for 26 dollars a month. That is huge. Do you even know what the average monthly premium is in California? Three years ago I was trying to get health insurance and found out the average premium for a non smoking, non drinking, mostly healthy but medium chunky 28 year old dude where I live was about 900 dollars. Even if after subsidies I was expected to pay 200 dollars it would be a dramatic improvement. Even at 400 that would be a dramatic improvement. My cousin Eva was a wonderful girl, she'd been paying into her workplace health insurance plan for 17 years, then she got cancer. 6 months of treatments later they cancelled her coverage, essentially sentencing her to die, which she did. How am I supposed to feel any loyalty to that. I'm sorry amigo but on basic math alone I fail to see how wanting to pay 200 dollars vs 900 dollars is stupid, nor how it is stupid of people to support something that may actually bring a genuine improvement to their quality of life. If anything, even as somebody not prone to radicalism or generalizations, given my personal experiences, I would think it the stupidest thing possible to stay the current course. God bless you that you have been so fortunate that you can walk around with such a blissfully ignorant opinion.

The only real danger Obamacare faces is if healthy people won't come on board within the first five years. Then it would collapse. Many start-up healthcare plans go through this and it's a real possibility (then again many start-up healthcare plans don't have the authority to issue a federal fine for non-compliance). I sense however, that that is not what the conservatives are afraid of. Nor do I buy into the scare tactics about work hours or the total collapse of the economy.

Also, seriously. You start your argument with "you are average premium" and you're calling me an idiot? Have some decorum. We've had enough positive exchanges in the past that I don't consider you an idiot just because we have a difference of opinion. If you can't make a similar distinction though that interpretation will probably stand pressed.

Looking back at my post I spelled college correctly, you must have quoted me within 20 seconds of my post getting posted.

Republicans have never made fun of Hispanics, blacks, or gay people. That whole "gay rights!" and "women's rights!" was a farce by the democrats to distract you from bigger legislature that the Democrats were trying to pass.

You have to realize Norik, you're just a person who probably watches MSNBC, or John Stuart's show. The news media likes to avoid bigger topics and go with more simplified stupid ones like. "If this guy get's elected, gays will have fewer rights!" meanwhile, no legislature was even ANYWHERE to be found. Republicans were never trying to take away their rights, it was all nonsense created by the news media and you believed it all. Case and point, you see any "gay rights!" opposition now? No.

Let me guess Norik, you're a young student who doesn't pay income tax, you never had to pay for health insurance, you go to school under a government funded grant, and you probably get subsidized living via Food stamps like most college students right? If so, you're just being biased and stupid. Thanks! =]
