If i see one more....(thread)

Don't see why you'd hate picking stages, I personally love selecting non-ringout stages whenever someone picks a ringout heavy character.

Either they will play normally in which case the stage would not matter, or they will be people who go for ringouts in which case you will have torpedoed their entire strategy simply by picking a certain stage.

Also, the lag on PSN must be pretty bad if all the things you say are true, live gets a lot of lag for this game but parries are very possible and only a few low attacks are made cheap.

In my opinion, Live service is better. The lag isn't so bad if you ask me. Also, if someone uses Hilde or Nightmare and you pick a non ring out stage, you are severly hurting them. When i play, I don't go for RO's, but since NM is so good at it, they usually get rung out somewhere along the line. Taking that away from them is unfair, its apart of there game...whether they utilize it or not. Shit like Soph, cage vs NM....such a downhill battle.

Non-ringout stages are part of the game as well.

And don't talk to a Setsuka, Rock, and Tira user about uphill battles.

Besides, when it comes to online just about anyone Vs. Sophitia is an uphill battle

I've seen plenty of nightmares using wall combos that pretty much made up for the lack of ringouts. I myself use nightmare sometimes and I never go for ringouts.

Not saying you can't go for them, I'm just saying a strategy that can be completely dismantled simply by picking a certain stage isn't much of a strategy...

Go play some VF5. Japanese players will give you bad rep for just about anything.
Depends on the player. I've played quite a few in VF5 good and bad and I never got a rep ding for it. A lot of them do freak out over any amount of lag though.

More OT:
On SC IV, Live feels slower in general than PSN to me. PSN'll give you weirder lag quirks, and the connection will bork more frequently, but I've never hit a 1fpm (frame per minute) match til I blundered into a 1 bar match (dropped down form a 4 second round.) on Live.

I heard the network was a P2P network, so the farther away the worse the lag.

Also, on PSN not all connections are the same. Ive played 4s that felt like 3s, 5s that felt like 4s. Ive even been able to play 5s that pretty much allow reaction to play into them. The latter not as much, but I play with people that usually have at least 4s and 5s. So online is decent for me.

FUCK the takis of the internetz!! Seriously i can just lay off the G button and whoop you cuz I do like no damage but attack 100 times in a minute. Seriously, taki sucks online.

Cervantes... don't think I need to tell you the ONE AND ONLY MOVE that I am sick of.

Also, lag abusers who are clearly running torrents on purpose so they can play as mitsu and spam the same move over and over without the other player ever being able to register a block.

ummm.... which move was that?

Its either his psycho crusher or his teleport into the air.

I hate his gun juggle where they can just shoot you three times in the air and you cant AC. Not the one where he picks up off the ground, the one where he can just use a launcher, and gets freebies.

The damage on the gun shot juggles isn't high and it scales down the damage on all other hits afterwards. It's not practical and is mainly for show.

I don't understand why people hate Cervy so much. The moves that people spam with him are unsafe and steppable as hell.

Agreed, and if your playing Amy it makes it that much harder to spam.

If i see one more 5 connection that acts more like a 3, i swear ill poop on someones chest!

I seem to have more problems with people that have a 5 connection than anything else. I play with a guy that lives 10 minutes away from me, we "SHOW" to have a good connection, both of us have cox cable, but its so laggy. I get a better game with people that live in canada with a 4 connection. And i live in san diego. Its not only my buddy that i have that problem with, its anybody with a 5 connection. Doesnt seem to matter if i go through my router or plugged straight to the modem! anyone eslse experience anything like this?

Meh, things I hate online...
Kids who play Amy/Voldo/Xianghua/Sophitia/Taki and win by being overly aggressive, to the point where they don't even need to block - and then they taunt or keep attacking or make something flashy because they think they're good.

Ivy... In my opinion, it takes much less intelligence to play Ivy than anything else. Just keep spamming those long ass combos that you've memorized all day long. No need to read, understand or adapt to anything.
Additionally, I wonder why she's not seen as the best character of the game, because I can't see why she'd be so much stronger online.

ive had some pretty ignorant post. But this is by far the dumbest bs i've ever read ? You want us to stop being overly aggressive ? lol.....are you like an old man ?

id shut up if i were you. plume knows what hes talkin bout. I think hes just frustrated about people taunting and stuff. if i see one more person talkin shit bout my buddies im gonna poop on thier chest to!!

Edit: Version 2: Shorter & Prettier.

Yeah, I know, I know... [/facepalms in shame...]

...Wait, what?

(Hot Rod Dave, I'm still quite new to the game, my rant about Ivy proves it, heh.
But thanks, I suppose. :P)

I understand what he's saying though.
Certain characters just have no need for situational gameplay and can just wop on you all day. I hate that sometimes, when your online and the same thing has being thrown at you (most likely with the worst of the match-up). You are firced to adapt while the opponent continues it's repetative assault. It' most frustrating against Amy and Ivy for me, But you have to adapt if you don't then it just shows how much you care about the match and how skilled other people see you as.

Though, if you don't care, then just avoid those people.

I wonder if it's fair to say that if we avoid them, it's because we don't care...

Sometimes I don't know what to think after a match. In these cases I guess one could say that I simply don't care anymore, and avoid it completely... But I do care about improving, and I do care about beating every kind of play style. But when I have no idea what it is that I'm doing wrong, if there's anything at all, then it seems like a waste of time to me.

Like one time there was a Xianghua player, he didn't know where his block button was, but he was able to chain strings and combos all day.
I still don't understand what was the problem. I don't know if I simply had no chance because of my character (A not-so-well-played Setsuka), if I couldn't avoid it because of lag, if I was supposed to be able to GI something, if I just sucked that day, or if he was just so much better than me.

Another time, I was getting slaughtered repeatedly by someone who was picking random and obviously didn't know crap about his characters, but I do know that I was having a bad day.

When I don't know what to think anymore, I doubt that I can learn much.

(Edit : And yesterday, I played Maxi and I've been beaten by another Maxi who was absolute trash... he just spammed A+B all the time, at different rythms, and sometimes mashed buttons randomly. I don't know how it happened, but he beat me. Again, I didn't know what to think, because it was obvious that he was a crap player.)
There really are situations that I simply cannot explain.

Thinking about that it maybe it was a little too extreme to say we do it out of lack of intrest.

Sometimes I just know not to expect much from a match online (especially my horrible Sets whos Ro based)

I just know in futile matchups like my Raph against....Ivy I may not be as ready to go toe to toe with someone playing a maxi or an Asty, It just feels that way in this game.

Probably need to step more/be more mobile. That usually happens as a result of standing in front of the other player a lot.

Possible, I block too much. It does sound like being more mobile would have been a good habit to have at that time. I'll have to work on that, thanks.

Was he dressed all in green, if so i played that same fucker yesterday to. He beat me too!! It was so laggy, and all he did was spam that A+B, he was real low in the ranks. I to have no explanation, must of made his day though. glad i could help
