Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Maybe their communication is so crap because they're focussing all the money on game development instead of marketing

Go to the Bandai Namco US Twitter account and try to tell me that with a straight face that they can only have their social media person hype up anime games, but can't be arsed to do the same for SCVI because of the budget.
The social media person for their US twitter account memes about DBFZ and even the anime of DBS while it was airing, but SCVI can't even get 1/3 of that?
Maybe the social media person/people just aren't really fans of SC. I don't know. It does makes me wonder.
The way how they treat and post about SCVI seems so robotic and forced in comparison to DB stuff and others. It comes off as not inspiring as much confidence in the product when you see the social media people going out of their way to post things to have fun and engage with fans versus what they're doing (and not doing) with SCVI.

I hope not lol do you even know how important advertisement is ?
The worst part of it is that social media people are paid to advertise various games to begin with. So it's essentially free advertisement to have someone you already have employed and paid to do the job for other things to do it for the one game, and they can't even go and do that for SCVI?
I mean my god, memelord it up with SCVI too. It at least gets people talking versus bitching and thirsty for a monthly scrap of information that clearly doesn't hold people over well enough.

Like others have mentioned before, posting some concept art, art of stages, weapons, little things could go a long way in getting people talking and interested. It gives people an idea of what ideas came up during development for certain characters too to see how their designs might have changed and what was proposed. Otherwise it's just seeing some cool behind the scenes art that gets shared and appreciated.

I guess my frustration is that.... you can have the Bandai Namco US person post some silly memes about Android 21 being thicc and whatnot, but you can't even be equally goofy enough to do the same for Ivy? Come on now. Have fun with it. lol

This. But i suspect the guy behind Bandai Namco account being a huge Anime fan, while doesn't like much/ isn't a fan/ doesn't know much about SC. I may be wrong but it really seems so.

The issue is, what will they post? Of course anyone here could do a better job, posting actual trivia or curiosities about the series and even the devs could at least utter a word about the game, but everything in SCVI is coming out slow, Namco could literally corner the market if they made this game really well and advertised well.

Couple of quick notes:
That leaked release date (September 27th) is bogus from what I was told.
There's a new build.
It includes Siegfried, but still doesn't have Geralt.
Siegfried's absolutely retarded in his current state. Very specifically 66B up close being pretty plus is completely braindead.

Any idea when this build will be sent to players to play?

Also, Geralt is probably a later game addition and one of the least finished characters, but the contract probably made Namco show him like mid game development or something like that. PS: Blink twice is that is the case.

So E3 is June 12th to 14th. We may have big news there.
News would probably hit before then. The actual E3 is 12th to 14th, but that's mostly for press hands on and interviews. And some public hands on time in recent years. The press conferences and reveals that most people think of as E3 itself actually happen in the week leading up to E3. So if there's a trailer we'll probably get it before E3. If they're showing off features, we might get an announcement of those features before E3 with hands on reports and interviews about them during that 12th-14th window. If they managed to get a trailer in one of the big press conferences that would also be before E3.

One thing I do want to point out is that they did attempt to do this on their Facebook page for Soul Calibur. However when they just posted memes about Soul Calibur and nothing for a potential Soul Calibur VI at the time a lot of fans where becoming obnoxious demanding something really rudely.

Sure, I wanted to hear something too, but damn were the memes they posted filled with negative comments.

Maybe, just maybe, they aren't filling it up with memes on their twitter because of that. If the one who is running the facebook page and Twitter are the same one even more so.

Still, they should post something like concept artwork and trivia to keep fans excited.

Oh thanks for the reply :) are you sure of it? It was the case for e3 last year? Games having their reveal trailer before the actual e3 show?

What do you think about it?

Does it mean we can get SCVI reveal, trailer, etc, at the target schedule or something like that ?

I need to see Taki and Cervantes :P
Here you go:

I figured that release date wasn't right, even if Thursday is Calibur Day.

What about Zasalamel and Ivy?
I somehow missed seeing this reply earlier, but Zasalamel and Ivy are in the build too. Geralt's the only character out of the roster announced up to this point that wasn't in the build for some reason. It's reasonable to speculate that he's still just too early along in his development, or they're intentionally not going to put him in a playable build until E3.
