Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

V gave me a perfectly damned fine reason. At least E3 is next month and we can always block Debbie Downers if they’re getting to you.

Anyways it seems like if we get more than one reveal, it could be Voldo and Talim. The former for the infamous shock factor and the latter as a returning favorite.

I don't think people would be so antsy about getting new builds if they put out more substantial preview material. It would go a long way if they gave us match gameplay a week or two after a reveal with the new character(s) in action. You can't please everyone and there would still be complaints but I don't think they would be as numerous or vigorous.

That said, I ain't stressin'. We're gonna get SCVI before you know it, brehs.

I remember a time when sneak peek builds weren’t a thing... these marketing strategies are smart but I feel like just keeping a basic build and using that as a play test reference rather than wasting resources making multiple builds. Remember the soul calibur team is very small.

I'm feeling suspicious. Then again I say that once a week here. Honestly if it wasn't for my curiosity for whenever we'd get CaS details, I'd have bailed by now. Don't mean to be like that but you'd think we'd have a new build by now. And the potential September release makes me wonder about the amount of bulls*** we can expect.
The game's been in development for quite a while. No reason to think that they spent all that time without doing anything on CAS that whole time.

Final Fantasy XV took even longer and for what? Anything Benny has to say might be too good to be true. I mean there’s E3, but there just seems to be so many red flags right now.

We didn't get CaS details for SoulCalibur V until November, and the game came out in January, so two months. I really don't think there's much to worry about, not yet anyway. Final Fantasy XV was a development hell mess and I don't really think it's fair to compare, since that game literally was taken apart and restructured from the ground up from its original vision into what we got today, and suffered for its incompleteness. SoulCalibur VI at least seems to have a much more cohesive vision from what we've seen so far, it's just a question of how much content there will be that shares that vision.

CaS won't change anything about the quality of the game btw. It only allows you to see ugly costumizations online. I wouldn't mind it being gone tbh.

Not only that, but also when you think that the time they spend on working on CaS could have been put on making more alternates outfits P2,P3 ect.

yall beat this dead horse more than I beat my meat

Do y'all think any of the kids will come back? I think they'll make an appearance at most. They could also be DLC I suppose.

Tbh I doubt that we will get a new public build at all and such things would be kept for testers and special events where chosen people would demonstrate a few things.
Again, DBFZ used one of the very first builds at events till very end.

I believe the reason why there is no teases is because the focus on classic characters, with Soul Calibur cast it would be too easy to figure the cast out. Most of them kept a very "iconic" look.

I think it's more likely just the fact that they are working on the game and still tweaking everything and will probably show the most anticipated reveals closer to the release date. Developing a game is hard and often chaotic work, I just hope they won't cut any corners to get the game out quicker, we all know that doesn't end well most of the time. I would gladly take a delay over an earlier release in this case.

Like I said before, there is a new build which has everyone announced up to this point except for Geralt and Taki.
I can't tell you how I know about that, but I'm sure people can piece it together easy.
But I don't know when it will be available to the public, if at all until E3.
They would most likely have a whole new build featuring all the characters announced up to that point though. So it makes it all a little moot.
I don't think they'd wind up having a build at a show as big as E3 that didn't have everyone announced up to that point.

Any word on the new subsystem mechanics for Ivy (stances, button holds, long range grapples), Zas (time stops), or Sieg (some kind of defense buff)?
