Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I don't even fully understand why everyone keeps acting like the games needs to be delayed, yes there is a few Graphical missteps(Which imo are not a big deal at all) that can be due to being on Unreal4 or because it is a work is progress.

Most people who played said the game play is solid, fun and responsive. I'm sure the very reason why we didn't get a release date is so they could "delay" the game without people noticing.

The game didn't start production in December, hell it didn't even start in 2017, it started back in 2014, shaky as it was, the development at least seems to have produced a good base gameplay.

But the builds that people played were demo builds, any number of new issues could have happened, been fixed, still cause issues, etc.

We only know what they put out.

I felt like a delay was inevitable at this point.

... Where are the delayed rumours coming from all of a sudden? Not sure If I believe that yet but If It has been I hope they use the time to work on the models more.

Pretty weird that they classify it as male when it just seems clearly genderless.
before being "charade" he was a man ...
He finds the legends of Soul Edge, and begins to find its fragments. He is eventually murdered by bandits who had heard a rumor circulating in the cities of a man overly-protective of his possessions. Still grasping the fragments, his corpse is thrown into a river. The blood from the hands forms around the fragments due to the man's tenacity to protect his precious fragments. This being seeks out to find more shards, so it can devour them and become whole. He eventually becomes part of the Soul Edge.

I'd rather have them spend more time perfecting Siegfried's hair, creating more CAS parts, or creating a badass intro than wasting development time and resources on a model, voice over, and animations for a fucking mimic.
For some reason I feel like his hair (along with anyone else who has long hair e.g Sophie, CaS) are going to stay just as shitty. It will probably look exactly the same in the final game as it does in his trailer. The long hair has consistently looked bad for 10 years now, in both 4 and 5. And now it still looks bad lol.

I really hope that they do fix it though. Looking back, they did change Pyrrha's beta hair, so hopefully they realize how ugly it still looks and fix it.

Can't wait for more Ivy gameplay!!!

And really hope they'll drop the bomb at E3, like 2 or even 3 characters reveal, 1 or 2 new stages, and a reveal of a brain new cool single player mode playable in the showfloor.

Niche title will be less desirable to those who want decent content/polish for day one buy. Then as time goes by those that didn't buy it day one due to lack of content/polish become disinterested in it and thus never buy it. It's been seen time and time again with many other IP's.

Edgemaster would be a wonderful addition to SC6's roster. Three reasons:
  1. Kilik's the main character of SC1, and the story will probably involve him in a big way. If the game's story mode wants to explore Kilik's past, Edgemaster is an essential part of it.
  2. If they offer a tutorial (which I'm hoping they do), there's no better teacher character than Edge Master. He's the only mimic character to ever actually train another character! Also, being able to switch weapon styles for the tutorial would be a great help if they want to go more in-depth with
  3. I love playing mimic characters, and 99% of their animation is already done anyway. Easy add.

It's worth pointing out that the current playable build is rather old. It was shown to Maximillion etc *before* Evo Japan. It's not like it just popped up last month.

Sophitia's hair looks gorgeous in SCVI.

Yes, the braid looks the best it ever has. But I meant when her braid gets broken and her hair is loose. It could definitely look a lot better. It's almost like they just copy and pasted Sophitia's bangs onto the long hair CaS option from SC4.

By the way, thanks for everyone that went to Texas Showdown last weekend. Had some great matches during the weekend and the game is pretty darn great. Mitsu to me so far seems to be the strongest character, but I guess that is due to the fact that there is no training mode to check how safe or unsafe his moves are. I can't wait for the game to come out, and 100% we will have it next year for showdown.

OK.I don't like Amy much and I hate Viola but I have an idea. What If Amy actually is in SC6 roster and when she activate her Soul Charge she transforming into Viola o.O
Um, actually, someone else suggested that in the locked news "discussion" thread. Anyway, I agree, it could be a fantastic idea. :D

As for Charade, I think it's a waste of space, unless they come up with a good story for that enigmatic form of life + good gameplay.
