Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

No fair! Second round I want that crown!

Anyhow I also want Setsuka, Hilde, Cassandra and lots of other characters to return, too. I'm hoping that the final select screen is bigger. Though, trying not to have my hopes up.

Lol I was running out of characters I could think of. :P

And yeah I forgot about Hilde there but yeah surely she should get into SC6? Though she is from SC4 so who knows. Hopefully she does though.

Loona is my favorite... #Jinsoul ㅜㅜ
If Mi-Na is announced during E3 remind me to dance Sweet Crazy Love dressed with her 2P SC II

I want the next reveals to be less 'obvious'. Seeing Sieg, Taki, Yoshi and Maxi come back is nice but they were pretty much guaranteed. I want another Zasalamel-esque character to drop. Someone that makes us go "oh snap!" or "didn't see that coming!". I'm hoping E3 might do this, especially if it has multiple character drops, one of them would have to be a 'WOW!' character.

I'm also interested in seeing if we get a new character drop anytime soon like Papa Groh or some other new character. It's odd we haven't heard much about that yet. Again E3 might be a good time to reveal them, especially if they're gonna drop a new trailer.
I'd say it's practically guaranteed that Cervantes is the next reveal, the first to be shown at E3, or perhaps just before E3 starts. Then the "wow" character will likely be Talim, even though we already expect her, it'll be a big shock reveal for people who aren't literally following every second of the news. Then they likely will show Grøh's father, it seems like E3 is a grand opportunity to show another brand new character, unless instead of him, they shock us even further and reveal a new female character instead. That would be even better.

Then they'll go on and talk about a new mode, or perhaps modes, get into the story and frame things more clearly...

...and then at the very end, drop Hwang and Seong Mi-na, the Koreans Cassandra and Aeon, the Greeks.

It makes me sad how people here act like a child over others opinions ... And not even over something that actually matters lol You guys are fighting over a VIDEO GAME character ughh
Well in here you can expect a lot of people getting triggered over even the silliest of things and opinions, which is why the previous two threads got closed to begin with.

Yeah I think Talim will be revealed as the 'WOW' at E3 too. Like you said, we're expecting it, but in a weird way I'm also not expecting it, if that makes sense, lol. I try to imagine her trailer and I can't, so when it drops I'll be like 'woah, it's actually happening'. I never cared much for her (mostly 'cause I couldn't play her style at all) so I'm not super hype for her but I would love to see her get revealed and make all her fans happy (actually, to contrast all the hate going on, I hope ALL of you get the characters you want, whoever they may be, so that you can all enjoy the epic comeback of the series you love ^_^).

Agreed, I would love to see a new female character get dropped then too. That would be a nice surprise. Maybe like when they moved Zas from DLC to main roster they'll consider bringing the dark-skinned female warrior back onto the table since enough of us were really interested in seeing that?

Because of those gender talk a question came up in my mind...

In a SC6 stream/ video the moderators talked about Yoshimitsu and his backgroundstory. (completly forgot about this)
Yoshimitsu is the sword and the person who wields the sword will be the next Yoshimitsu.

Sooo was there a female Yoshi? ... a female wielder of the Sword would be interessting and feasible.

if we're talking about new female characters... It would be interesting if they announced Chie as a playable character? I mean Li Long's basically impossible at this point but he could make a cameo in her story. Plus she's Taki's friend and has strong ties to the Fu-Ma clan.

Can imagine her using a kusarigama. chain projectile for range and sickle for close range/pokes.

That whole gender argument was pointless lol. On one hand, I find most most of the females to be better designed than most males, but on the other, pretending that characters were cut because they were female is retarded. There's nothing wrong with trimming the fat when tons of clones and unpopular characters exist. Their gender is irrelevant if nothing about their design adds something to the game gameplay wise or personality-wise.

Yoshimitsu is a title, not a name. Nothing is stopping Yoshi from being female.

I would've liked Groh's parent to be the mom personally. Having an older, evil female character who's a cold assassin but also a mom would be a very cool contrast to the rest of the female cast (and would be like a polar opposite to Sophitia). I think currently Tira is the only truly evil female and she's more of a lacky to Soul Edge so it'd be pretty cool to get a leader-like evil female.

At least I THINK Papi was meant to be evil. Last I heard anyway. I'm not that excited for him personally but 'cause we know (kinda) he'll be a thing, I'm still curious.

A female Yoshi might've been cool too. I'm ok with gender swaps in instances like that since it makes sense that whoever wields the sword is Yoshimitsu. Plus Kunimitsu is a thing, haha.

Imagine a female Nightmare with that same size, stance etc. I wonder what that would've been like :S Shame the only time we saw a female truly get possessed by SE was puny Pyrrha.

You ain't going to convince those who are invested in it. They can't comprehend people who are apathetic towards gender parity and pointing that out leads to accusations of being a bigot. You're never going to win the argument because they don't understand that POV.
The thing is y'all are "apathetic towards gender parity " when it suits you LMAO. Anyway, as I said before let's move on !

No I really don't care. And no just because I snap back at it doesn't mean I pick and choose when it suits me, I simply see individual characters, specifically legacy characters more important that filling a jocking quota. But as I said the gender parity warriors will never understand that because they're too invested in gender and call anyone who doesn't get in line a bigot, which is ironic considering intollerance is at the core of bigotry.

Side question here. How many characters have you asked about because I'm really hoping, cross fingered that Li Long will make a return. If it's a no then that's fine because at least I won't be waiting in anticipation.
I've asked about quite a few but haven't really gotten much in way of actual responses aside from Voldo and some various things like debunking that one "leaked release date" for instance.
If you have been paying attention, you might have noticed I've basically been laying low with SCVI info in comparison to how I was before a certain post in late February. I'm not getting a wealth of information anymore due to a certain thing that happened that I can't outright address. But there are less than a handful of people here who do know.

With that said, this is totally unrelated to my own stuff, but something that popped up online last month which flew under the radar until recently that are two seemingly separate claims about SCVI at E3 related leaks that came out of 4chan. To say we should proceed with caution is an understatement. But here are the two links:
https://boards.fireden.net/v/thread/416886442/
https://boards.4chan.org/v/thread/417281757/two-e3-leaks-for-you#p417281757
What both are claiming are 4 characters shown at E3: Talim, Hilde, Salia, and Calynpolk.
Salia is claimed to be "frenemies with Hilde and is another rapier user like Raph & Amy but has some Cervantes Style drill & teleport flash attacks" and Calynpolk is said to be a big fat priest with a mace.

I actually have been pestering some both my original SCVI source (who went a few months without saying anything to me until they also heard about Voldo) and my main SCVI source to see if they have heard anything that lines up with those claims.
I've also contacted some other people who are aware of E3 stuff ahead of time.
By process of elimination, if I can find out there is a new Final Fantasy Tactics game being announced, then that essentially could confirm the SCVI stuff.
But this is all assuming I get lucky and anyone has heard anything that relates to either or those two claims. Otherwise we're just waiting about a week and a half to find out. That isn't so painful.

To actually analyze the "leak" if we're entertaining any possibility of truth in it, I heard about Talim and leaked her getting in what seems like forever ago now. So I don't really need to comment on that.

Hilde is someone I heard would be saved as DLC because the roster wouldn't exceed SCIII for the launch roster.
To quote what I'd heard a little more than 5 months ago "a lot of the SCIII-V characters will be reserved for DLC. Hilde is likely one of them."
But people do like her and it wouldn't be that big of a deal to slide her in. Let alone do what happened to Zasalamel and take a character that was more planned to be DLC bait and swap them to launch because the work was already being done concurrently with development. So this is one I feel is a bit of a red flag about this in a way, but until I can hopefully hear something that can confirm or deny it, I am only left with speculation.

Salia is kind of an odd one for me. I still haven't heard about Raphael at all despite my badgering about him. Whether that means anything, I have no idea because I'd asked about Voldo for a while until I was able to finally get a yes from both. So absence of evidence isn't always evidence of absence. But if you recall, Amy was someone I was told there is a chance she might just appear as Viola from now on, but they currently have no confirmation of that for sure.
The Cervantes move references they talk about is very weird too. I also haven't heard anything concrete about Cervantes yet either, but I don't think (hope) that means anything.
It's strange but I guess is somewhat curious to think if there is any kind of connection between those things and Salia would kind of be "replacing" characters essentially.

Calynpolk would be the fat character and mace user people have been asking for for years. In some cases, a fat mace user. Which I do recall seeing requests for throughout the years.

Since I know you people are much smarter than some places I post things and have a better grasp on reading comprehension, you understand this is purely for discussion. Like I have said, I currently cannot say one way or another at the moment whether or not there is anything at all to this supposed "leak" right now.
But it does give us something to think and talk about until they do their E3 reveals or I (hopefully) get some kind of confirmation or denial of what was said. E3 is not far away at all though. So we won't be wondering for too long.
