Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

On ESL there's a Soul Calibur VI Exhibition after a 30 minute segment about SCVI[probably more empty interview nonsense] at around 2 or 3 PM PDT I believe, running until 5:15 PM PDT. For those who prefer going by EST, that's 5-6 PM EST until 8:15 EST.

you have the link friend? i thought esl was eleague or something.

All I was saying was if you can make content everyone can enjoy and in no way harm your game or make content only some can enjoy and lessen the amount everyone can enjoy who in their right mine chooses the latter option when the first is clearly superior?

Hate CaS all you want, but as the only fighting game supplying such a feature people who like CaS are left with no other fighting game so you are stuck with us unless others branch out into this aspect enough to compete.

As fot CaS having an essay every page that's a huge overwhelmingly large exaggeration which implies a hatred for and over-sensitivity to CaS being mentioned at all.

Well I'm expecting that if we don't get a reveal trailer at the normal time today, we might get one during the tournament I heard was taking place later today although I've no idea what time it is

SCIII was the first time I ever really got into the concept of custom characters. There were so many options and the ability to unlock and purchase more with your hard in-game work was pretty satisfying. Having an entire mode dedicated to CAS too was genius. I loved seeing the devs manage to create an interesting story and characters using purely CAS. I really hope for something similar in SCVI.

I made a few OC's and tried to develop little stories for them just for fun but I got lazy eventually. Hoping that with the SCVI reboot, I can start afresh with my customs :)

I didn't know the stream today was an exhibition. That'll be a lot of fun to see now that we have more stages and characters :) Sadly won't be able to watch it live so hopefully some lovely person will upload it.

Think it’s a bit of a shame we saw all the stages already. But at least it was just one chaos and no towers. They’re beautiful and all, but feel we’re lacking things like the Money Pit or a lava stage. To be fair it seems like they’re set in a certain region too...

I know you guys will curse me.
But I'd not think twice about sacrificing Talim if that could guarantee the presence of Raph or Setsuka in main roster. Actually, I don't care about that child.
Nobody likes other people's children! Imagine if she turned out ugly... "this baby is a monster!!!!"

You have a right to want your favorite character. I'd happily sacrifice most characters for Amy or someone with Amy's style. I think everyone has a favorite character or style, and can relate.

No traditional reveal today it seems.
WHYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?!

It's my fault for hoping for one. ._.

I'm still gonna (unreasonably) hold out hope they might reveal something later today... it's been 2 weeks since Maxi's reveal, plus it's E3... I am going to delude myself into thinking they must reveal something.

Raphael had a significant impact on the series story-wise so you'd think he should be prioritized over most characters, but from what it seems, they are taking him out of the picture, at least for the most part, since not only does Kilik have a new enemy now, but there's a good chance Raphael is no longer the person who freed Siegfried. Talim, like Zasalamel has gained some serious popularity after their absence in V, so much so that Namco couldn't ignore them anymore, as for Setsuka, I don't think she belongs on the same category as either Talim or Raphael.

This is along my line of thinking. I suspect Raph's part in the story has been retconned out and that Talim's role has been made more central to the main plot.

By now we’d have a reveal.

The one suspicious thing about Raphael is that it Verge only mentioned him and not other characters like Setsuka. Makes me think he’ll be the last reveal.

But to me it does feel like a call for making a certain loli DLC.

Bummer. Perhaps they felt that story mode, release date, and special editions were enough for this week and will resume character reveals in two weeks.

Although, they will have to do one today if they want to reveal one character every other Thursday until October 19th.

1) June 14
2) June 28
3) July 12
4) July 26
5) Aug 9
6) Aug 23
7) Sept 6
8) Sept 20
9) Oct 4
10) Oct 18

theres suppose to be a 30 minute exhibition on esl. maybe we'll get something there. besides pro gameplay which im content with

Even if Raphael doesn't make SoulCalibur VI, for the sake of argument, that doesn't rule him out of SoulCalibur VII, you know. The assumption, for me at least, is that the next game would pick up where this one leaves off, and Raphael can always enter the story later in the timeline, like some others that won't make it into this story, such as Setsuka and Hilde. They can get their development with all new stories in the next game along with new supporting cast members as well. I figure that SoulCalibur VI is but the framework for a new beginning.
