Watching that Tekken tournament just makes me realise how superior SoulCalibur is in comparison.... SC is more pure and in the spirit of martial arts right down the stage design, whereas Tekken is some funky cramped street fighting game with a bit of UFC thrown in.

A “funky cramped street fighting game” where 90% of the cast has real world martial art styles while SC has fantastical elements like flying orbs, bladed hula hoops, and giant hulking axe-wielding golems. Right lol.

It seems like they made her face rounder too, like Xianghua's, my question is why. I get X might not have looked Chinese enough (??? Not trying to be racist, they just made her face super round ...) but Ivy looks like she lost a bit of chin there for no reason. But then again that illusion might be caused by different lighting.

It's not, you can see the changes around the eyes, lips jaw and nostrils. The biggest changes are with the eyebrows and the eyes themselves have been enlarged. One could argue that it's more faithful to the legacy of Ivy's face but personally I've always found Ivy's face to have always suffered with a bad case of uncanney valley. Her reveal trailer was the first time I though damn, they really corrected the issues I had with it but have decided against the changes with this new build. A shame from my perspective.

Of course. Anytime I took to the skies with my winged dual-axe-wielding humanoid lizard and rained down fireballs at the man with a wolf familiar I thought to myself... this is true martial arts.
