Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Hey guys, I was just wondering something now that I remember E3. The Xbox 4 and PS5 are coming in two years and they're prepping the new systems in the road to get there. Do you think a "Super" Soulcalibur VI would make a good launch title for those systems? Like it could have enhanced graphics from the full power of the consoles and all the DLC plus additional characters and content. Just something I thought of and I'm sure it will come up later.

@Vergeben I feel a little brazen making a request, but I couldn't help but ask... I know you said earlier that you are working on trying to find out the roster at this point, since it has been finalized. Can you also try to find out which weapons the characters will wield? (My thought was that knowing what weapons are used would mainly be helpful for trying to understand any new characters better, or if there is a twist and someone comes back with a different weapon).
If not, that's totally fine. It's only 4 more months anyway, which isn't that long, plus I'm sure you have a life outside of trying to find out stuff about upcoming video games. :)
I can try.

Verge, is the 23/24 characters before or after dlc?
23/24 before DLC from the sound of it.

Imagine they put 2B as second guest DLC and we get Copied City as a stage. I would go crazy
That's the ideal place to pick for a stage to stand out and came to mind from NieR: Automata to choose if she did wind up becoming a DLC character. The problem is it has more ties to a boss fight, though 2B is the one who does the fighting in it there if that counts.
I feel like they'd probably pick outside the Resistance Camp, Pascal's Village, or The Bunker (YoRHa base) instead.

I am praying to the Namco gods that we get a remake of Lost Cathedral from Soul Calibur 3. That was hands down the best stage of all the games.

I'm right there with you in praying it is too.

Regarding the stage select screen, it looks like they could place 2 more slots at the bottom:

So maybe we'll get 13 stages instead of 11, if that space gets utilized.
I don't know how many stages there will be for sure. Not yet at least. I'll try to. But the placement of it like it currently is without those two on the bottom sides just looks very off. For that reason, I do hope there is 13.
That way, the bottom row with the infinity symbol could have two more on each side of it if they add DLC stages.... which they should if there is only 11 to 13 at launch and a row that could house 4 more.

There are chances yes, but the next console generation will also very likely have Backward compatibility have as well, so. Also they won't necessarily need to re-release the game, they can just patch it to make it 4K/60fps HDR (or whatever).

I hope the Online will be very good, and a good offline mode, like an Offline mode that i can just threw myself in if i don't want to play online. (Injustice 2 does it quite well in that area)

Even still, an Ultimate Edition is always a good sell for a game after some time has passed. As long as they don't abuse it, and use it as a means to keep the game alive until the next installment (as opposed to milking it for all it's worth while not developing it, like TN did with DOA) then it's a good plan.

Tekken 7's soundtrack is spot on
Can't say I agree with you on that one, the last Tekken soundtrack I thought was consistently good was Tekken 5's, however, that usually doesn't mean anything when it comes to the Soul Calibur games, because there wasn't a single one with a bad soundtrack, in fact the last game had my second favorite soundtrack in the series.

Yes of course and that will be up to them, what i meant is that this time around you won't be force to buy it anyway since there will be likely BC.

Totally agree, last good OST for Tekken was T5/5DR. T6 has a lot of good themes but it's not as good as 5, ttt2 and t7 hasn't been that good overall, i suspect it's because the game was mainly Arcade focus and so the Ost for those games were basically based on having a fiesta/party tone, instead of atmospheric vibe like the early Tekken. Meanwhile SC had always great Ost, the lesser good which was 4 for me was still very good overall, even SCV had a really great ost with so many different music vibes.

Been reading that correspondence 2 pages earlier...

How was Devil Jin in Soul Calibur 5 such a success that people are now suggesting a multitude of styles to be included as CaS???

Guys, he was a failure, a rushed addition. You need standardised characters or no characters at all. Let's just move on and never speak of this again! xD

Devil Jin was simple boot-licking: a useless, resource-wasting addition to please Namco's "bigwig"...

Real talk: we will always want insane levels of SC3 content like stages and characters.
Why? I already know I'm not going to get that, why even bother? you're better off lowering your expectations in order to actually enjoy the new game, and if you like SC3 so much, go back and replay it, I know I do.

Trust me buddy I know we are not getting that kind of content back and those days are long over. My expectations for this game are at a shaky fence. All I can expect is get a good balanced gameplay and that all the characters are good to use, a decent storymode and improved Create-a-Soul. Nothing wrong for wishing for one or two extra single player content. I was, however referring to stages and characters.

++++
And in the original "Samurai Shodown" game there was a good hand-to-hand warrior.
The balance was observed in the following way: it had strong and fast attacks with a small radius. In addition, his best attacks took a bit of hp if the enemy blocked them with weapons.
His closest analogue in this game is Tira

Damn the music is so good. Tracks like 'Under a Pledge' really replicate and emphasise the previous tones of Sophitia's themes in a really nostalgic way while at the same time putting a new modern, beautiful spin on it, while other tracks like the Unknown 1 that was listed are trying something new and are absolutely hitting it out of the park. Unknown 2 is brilliant as well, and 'Lionhearted' is a similar case to Sophitia's new theme. They're doing such a good job this time around.
