As yours. But something that can makes this game attractive to new players is a roster with no clones. Every character must have his own recognizable style and weapons, and Cassandra isn't one of them. Even if her gameplay is different from her sister, she is definitively too much similar to Sophitia. And SC6 cannot afford to make this mistake.

I disagree with this opinion and I've went over this several times in this thread alone on how she isn't a clone and how they could easily separate her even more from Sophitia both visually and in terms of moves if they wanted to (which isn't really necessary). I will no longer bog down this thread by repeating myself further. Just look at my previous posts and you'll find my opinion on the matter.

Frankly I’d prefer if they try to please the existing fan base first. SCV radically changed the roster to try to appeal to newcomers and we all know how that went.

Ultimately we all want our faves in; no amount of arguing is going to convince anyone otherwise.
 
As much as Siggy is one of my mains I find it quite frustrating his inclusion requires the clone effect. I do in fact believe it hurts the game to a degree.

As for Cassandra, I'd have no problem with her if she ditched having the exact same damn dinky sword and tiny shield as Sophitia. Maybe a long sword and larger shield. Or a spear and shield. Anything but dink sword and shield.

what do you suppose Nightmare and Sieg are? How about Yoshi and Mitsu?

If you have been paying attention, or actually playing SC games for that matter, you would know that Cassandra is nothing like Sophitia. Same weapon does not mean they play the same for the love of god

You mean 5 with like literal clone styles with literally the same person and three random weapon styles? Gee yeah cause that's in anyway close to what we're discussing that's quite literally the complete opposite of some of 5's most glaring mistakes.

It's weird to compare characters to their past iterations anyway. Who knows how they would be represented in this game. And new players probably care more about just finding the right character for them. If they're the sort that just wants variety for the sake of variety, they're probably not much for sticking around anyway.

In the vein of comparing to their old selves, I also think it's funny how people will say their character is looking real strong simply by comparing them to older versions in completely different games, rather than looking at the system and other characters of the current one.

Okay, fair enough. But cutting out fan favourites i.e Cassandra with vaguely similar styles to please potential newcomers at the expense of the existing fan base isn’t the best of ideas. That was what I was trying to get across.

Cassandra and Sophitia will at minimum at least be better than Scaredy Pyrra and evil and look like I've done too many drugs Pyrra. I'll give you that much.

You may not like her, but Cassandra has always been a very popular character in the series. And I don't see how having a character using the same weapon but with a unique moveset is a bad thing. Tekken and Street Fighter have done just fine the past 20+ years and their games usually feature literal clones or characters sharing most of their movesets. And as someone already mentioned, there's Siegfried/Nightmare and Mitsurugi/Yoshimitsu. Just replace the few moves which Sophitia and Cassandra do share and then Cassandra becomes 100% unique.

I'd love to see Rock. He's one of my favorite chars in SC4. But if Astaroth is in, I have to say than Rock is not "useful" for the game.
I speak for the good the game. I don't like Talim at all. She's an horrible char for me, but she has her own style, weapon and identity so, even if I hate her, I think she should be in. And I love Hilde so much, but I don't ask for her on every page of this thread trying to convince everyone here and elsewhere.
