Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

That name below Sophitia is 100% without a doubt Tira

Inb4 Rock

IMO the only mystery is who the name below Grøh is. The rest are pretty clearly Cervantes, Lizardman, Astaroth, Tira, Voldo, and Talim.

I'd say it's Rock, but... I really doubt it's Rock. It might be Hwang? But I dunno... seems like Yun-seong should be in for Talim.

If the length are representative and we're not just looking too much into it, I think the three shortest names are probably Voldo, Tira, and Talim, with the slightly longer one below Yoshimitsu being someone else, possibly Raphael. One of them could be a second new character instead though of course.

The one under Sophie does make sense as Tira thematically since they seem to be grouping related characters together but this could always just be a mock-up and not the real thing (it did change slightly between the two images we've seen after all).

For me, I think the one above Ivy would be a mystery, or the one below Sophitia. I feel like one of those is Aeon, and it's Mi-na and Yun where people think Cervantes and Lizardman are. I guess one of those potential mystery slots in my mind would be Talim or Tira. Cervantes like I said before I feel doesn't get his own story as a boss.

Also, I think it's interesting if Geralt starts right where Zas ends. I wonder if they'll be connected.

I can't picture the long ones being Yun and Mina, it makes too much sense to have Voldo-Ivy-Cervantes-Lizardman-Astaroth-Nightmare all grouped together.

Mitsu and Taki are together, Kilik, Maxi, Xianghua, and Groh are together, Nightmare and Siegfried are together, so there's definitely some thematic groups going on in where names are placed and it'd be weird to have Ivy separated from the Soul Edge servants group by two characters who have nothing to do with anyone else.

Yoshi, Zas, and Geralt aren't really part of any groups and mostly their own thing so I think the other two of the bottom 5 will also be solo characters that mostly do their own thing like Talim/Raph/etc.

The argument Hayate makes about Voldo being below Yoshimitsu makes sense, though, since that character has involvement starting in SoulBlade/SoulEdge times moving forward, and conciding with Yoshimitsu, the dispute where Voldo stole Yoshimitsu's sword. Voldo doesn't make as much sense just having a lot of little events in SoulBlade/SoulEdge times somewhat in sync with / alternating with Grøh. I can't really see Voldo having ties with Grøh. And Talim having events only near the end makes the most sense to me so she would be the one just above Zasalamel, while Tira being under Sophitia due to the ties she will have with her/Pyrrha in the future also makes sense, we'll see Tira as a Bird of Passage and learning of Soul Edge through a mission or something.

Do Amy or Hilde have outside chances at any of those slots? Technically their backstories overlap with the timeline for this game, and either can be put into places of prominence either dealing with Amy's origin and some Viola lore, or Hilde's time with her father.

The new screenshots don't say too many things that are exciting, the first one with Cervantes is talking about how he was driven by the will of Soul Edge and put those to death who would seek the sword, and the second one is about Taki coming to Sophitia's aid. Stuff we already know really. Some inbetween battle dialogues on the others. The Soul Chronicle 1 says Prologue for the title, and the text beneath talks about the legend of Soul Edge entering the 16th century, and how the legend will unfold.

just confirmed Sophitia vs. Rothion's image was not fake ...

@JohnMcKee & @Klimat
As John said, I agree it is strange that Ukraine would differ in this. Hieroglyphs are "logograms" (or ideograms, as we call them in Serbian) that are unique to ancient Egypt. Chinese characters/Japanese kanji are also logograms. Here, where I live, we reffer colloquially (as a slang) to anything that is written in unrecognisable characters or just plain gibberish as hieroglyphs, but far from it that we use this in formal occasions. :)

Cervantes, Rothion, and Toki are mentioned by name in various profiles. I wonder if Toki will finally get to show up as a bonus character.
