Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I hope someone is thinking on making a tutorial series to get newbies hooked on SC.
PW started making some decent SC -> <- Tekken 7 tutorials a while back, I'm sure he could put together a decent guide.
It wouldn't be too hard.
Explain the basics (movement, buttons, notation etc)
Explain GI, Reversal Edge, and Lethal Hit
Explain meter
Explain throws and teching
Brief character rundowns
More advanced fundamentals (just frames, whatever the new replacement for just guard is, more advanced movement stuff, stage positioning & how to keep in mind what options your opponent might want depending on the position in the stage)
etc. etc... I'm sure someone could pull it off

Or he could borrow from those fabulous tutorials on this forum. I don't think anyone would hold it against him if the series' reputation is on the line.

SCIII was the only one with a tutorial.
That's not true.

SoulCalibur's Mission Mode began with EdgeMaster teaching you how to attack, block, throw, etc. And SoulCalibur II's Weapon Master Mode began the same way.

I think those absolutely count as tutorials, even if they're a part of a larger single-player mode. In many ways I think this is a better approach than making it a separate mode that players might ignore.

I liked Viola a lot. Really interesting style. Lots of people loathed her but she placed higher than any other SCV newcomer on the popularity poll if I recall. I hope the rumours about Amy just being Viola/having her style are true since then she's probably going to be in the game, at least as DLC.

Controversial opinion alert lol

I agree with you about Viola but I don't want her to remplace anyone, whisfull thinking I don't want any character to remplace anyone.

The only reason I loathe Viola is the whole replacing Amy as a fencer thing. As long as Viola stays a separate character I don't mind her.

Sieg and Nightmare are the same person but with different slots/movesets, the same could happen for ViolAmy. Viola doesn’t have to replace Amy to still be Amy

I still wouldn't really expect Viola for this game, unless she's literally the last DLC character of the bunch. Even including Amy is a bit of a stretch, when we still don't have Raphael confirmed just yet. They may save her for the next game, either way. But we may see both forms there.
