Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I actually think that golden feline-inspired design would look better on a new woman of colour. Maybe one who wields two sharp sets of claws, the secondary pair with poison status effects like someone suggested before. Tira looks better with the bird motif and the popidol kittycat bs looked ridiculous and made no sense on Talim

i think it would be interesting to see a female character with a chinese sai and something like a bleed passive where after some hits it would stack and then after particular move you can activate it.

What are the potential mechanics people see for the hypothesized characters' Soul Charge?

Tira - I would like something that functions similarly to Testament's curse in GG where a raven attacks in certain patterns on its own.
Cervantes - Give him the GG Johnny coin flips.
Aeon - Turns to a surreal appearance of his human form and gives him an array of moves that are less barbaric and more crafty.
Astaroth - Some sort of qualifier to be able to stack armor on certain moves.
Raphael - Fixed distances he can teleport in a straight line Wesker/Slayer-esque, but can put him at someone's back or ring him out.
Amy - Kind of like Jam she can have tarot cards she can stack on A/B/K for extra properties for different moves.

So I'm watching the start of the stream Aris did the other day and I thought I would point out these mechanics for anyone who's been curious about them.

Guard Meter:

Decreases when blocking attacks.

Flashing yellow is low
Flashing red is critical

Doing a strong attack on someone who guards while their guard meter is flashing red will lead to a guard crush opening them up for attack.

Whiffing Guard Impact and whiffing Reversal Edge (B+G) will lower your Guard Meter. This is to stop people spamming them but if you land a Guard Impact or Reverse Edge on your opponent your Guard Meter doesn't decrease.

Reversal Edge is one of the best ways to fill your meter, fills roughly a quarter when it successfully hits your opponent.
Reversal Edge stops the clock.

Back + ABK = Soul Charge
ABK = Critical Edge (Super)

Lethal Hit: A special counter hit that only happens with certain moves (every character has unique ones and are similar to Clean Hit in Tekken).
Successful Lethal Hit gives you a window for a full combo or launcher on your opponent.

Guard Impact beats everything but not Soul Charge due to it not being an attack (it's more akin to Super Saiyan or Dark Soul's Force miracle where it's offensive property is push back with no damage).

Would be cool if Cervantes' 1P is his human form and 2P the ghost. They did say this is meant to cover I and II...
Ideally, that's what they should do.

i was thinking more like an Arabic female character and the moves would be more inspired from a dance or something.
It'd be interesting to pay homage to the weapon's history.
The character could use silat with chabang or tekpi if they wanted to.

To chime in on a topic of the past two pages of conversation, I don't have any specific information or know what to expect from Tira's design on SCVI. But I feel like that's what makes it so exciting.

Even if SCV's opening was graphically superior to SCIV's, it was incredibly boring and lackluster, so I hope we get something incredibly grand like SCII or SCIII's with the same kind of epic tune as SE's Edge of Soul lmao.
I can't even remember's anything about SCV's opening, but I can easily remember SE, SC2, & SC3's (I can partially remember SCIV's just because of the WTF factor of seeing Mitsu and Taki fighting Vader and the Apprentice).
