Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Guard Impact beats everything but not Soul Charge due to it not being an attack (it's more akin to Super Saiyan or Dark Soul's Force miracle where it's offensive property is push back with no damage).
hmm, I wouldn't be so sure about that. I am 70% sure I saw a Soul Charge being cancelled by a GI (although the GI was initiated slightly before the Soul Charge). I will try to find the video of this and edit this comment.

Edit:
Found it. Go to 7:45. it's there.

Edit 2:
...or was that a CE? ^^

That was a GI beating a CE.

My wishful thinking for Soul Calibur 6 reveals next week:

1. Astaroth, Cervantes, Aeon, and New Character revealed (i can wait for Tira/Setsuka)
2. Demo comes out sometime in August to test online capability/bugs

They stopped being a thing after SoulCalibur III. Which is sad, because I wanted to see one for Hilde and Amy.
A shame, as that's one of the main things that impressed me about the game, aged 17, back in 1998 and stuck in my mind ever since.

Yeah, I think a demo would be nice - even if only 2 characters or something!

Alts make sense for the narrative structure since both post-reboot Mortal Kombat games had appearance changes throughout the timeline. The pre-Nightmare Siegfried has me worried but also got me thinking that maybe defaults are customizable.

Lame move Namco...

god damnit bamco.... at least let us listen to the ost whilst we're starving for new info...

To be fair what made me buy Soul Calibur II was seeing Ivy's weapon demo on a display TV in a video game store. I went straight to the counter and asked "what's the game with the woman with the snake sword." They handed me Soul Calibur II. And here we are 15 years later

How did you know it was called a snake sword?

I was so terrified AF of Cervantes’s laugh and his scene in the intro where he removed his face to become Inferno. Now he has my favorite style.

And then there was Siegfried becoming Nightmare and Hwang’s bad ending. I still don’t know why the former became blue instead of red. And Taki’s stage scared me as well. To a lesser extent the coliseum music.

I feel like they won't give us commoners a demo. Come to think of it, did anyone even bother to ask if there would be an open beta at any of these interviews?

Well, you saw their approach to information dispersal. They only talk about things that are already revealed. For everything else it's "please be patient / look forward to hearing from us in the future"
