[SC3:AE Tira] is a Stun Combo StringMachine
Really need to See SC6 Movelist.

... Guess Namco Likes the SC4 Bipolar disorder.
Thought they would make her Emotionally Unstable[Gloomy/Evil/Rage] do that with "Soul Charge Only"
She's gone More Gothic Less Feathers... :sc4tir1:But That Hair:sc3tir1:SEXY

Jolly Tira.png
If All her Jolly Moves are SC3 Focused and Gloomy are SC5.. Ill be very happy with the balance.

First of all, I love this design, it's very Tira.

They seem to have combined aspects of all of her 1P and 2P costumes from all installments.

She's gotten her iconic SC3 1P body and face paint back, which I love.

Hair has SC5 1P-inspired bangs with SC3 2P-inspired fluffed tails, as well as multicolored aspect from SC5 1P and the teal-ish coloring of SC3 1P.

Her shirt is ripped like SC3 1P and SC5 1P, but has some more of the SC4 2P aspects thrown in, such as the shawl and skirt.

I like the addition of the bird spines on the shawl's front tassel...thing and the front of the leggings.

She also kept the heels that she had in SC5 1P, though I remember seeing many people were upset by her getting those in SC5 'cause she'd worn boots in all previous costumes.

Overall coloring is mainly SC3 1P and SC4 2P mixed.

But.... you can see her fingers through her gloves.. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Why would her being DLC have anything to do with it?
Because the game is focusing primarily along the story line of SC1 and SC2. Tira's personas didn't separate until the ending of SC3. If they had her in the game as part of the standard cast, it would mean pretty much rewriting her entire playstyle. Essentially setting her back to her SC3 playstyle. Her being DLC grants her somewhat of an immunity from the timeline and they're free to make her play as she has in the last two installments.

Tira's braids have been kinda bugging me so I had to do some digging.

It seems like they start from the part in her hair on top, wrap down and underneath, and then are pinned upwards. So the tail on the left really starts from the right..

Makes me wonder if her clothing break will cause them to be low pigtails, maybe still braided? I dunno.

It looks like they combined her p1 and p2 costume of sc3. She also retained the bird and Raven theme from sc 3 that she lost by the time of 5. I didn't like her sc4 design but I really enjoyed the Harlequin theme outfit from sc 5.

Side note: anybody else notice the snake motifs om asteroths new armor resemble Algol's chair from sc5?? Anybody think that the cult is hacking the power of Algol to make their creations?

It's great to have her back!
I was honestly hoping she would get some ravens in her CE or maybe some attacks, especially since Talim now has a wind attribute added way more prominently than before in her move list. But well, Critical Edge still looks awesome. My favorite part is when you can see the ring-blade sparking when she tries to stop it from spinning after slicing the opponent a few times. And then that purple glow when she looks at the thrown away enemy with annoyance. Now I'm very curious to see the Jolly version of Tira' CE.

I was sure they'd just split Jolly and Gloomy into her normal and Soul Charge states. I wonder if her CE does extra damage or hits if she's Gloomy first.

No, Project Soul didn't because Decopon would never let that happen especially when he's helping with the balance of the game.

If she wasn't DLC, I figured that's how she'd play too. Similar to her SC3 but with a gloomy slash-crazy Soul Charge.

Exactly, the easiest solution is to make Tira DLC to use her SCIV/V model tweak it in Unreal Engine 4 & keep Jolly & Gloomy stances.

Ok, but even so, they still could've done Gloomy as a Soul Charge state now if they wanted to.
I guess they like the idea that it's sort of random chance, since it's less calculated more like a "real" mood change.

...What?

Tira Battle Director Comments

"Tira is an irregular type character with two different fighting styles (side) due to a unique movement using a circular blade and a double personality. It is the characteristic of Tira that the two personalities "Jolly" and "Gloomy" will switch over when certain conditions are satisfied, and the composition of the technique changes dramatically.

A tactic that fogs at a stroke with a superior "gloomy" on the attack surface is powerful, but since the character changes to a whim, it is difficult to control and practice is necessary. In addition, "SCVI" demonstrates the hidden power by repeatedly crossing two personality. A strategic side change will be a shortcut for victory."

Do you guys think Tira's gimmick is gonna be her mood changes? Like how the other characters have some sort of gimmick, I wonder if hers will just be that.

This part of the battle director commentary seems to imply there may be a bit more control over when she mood swings, but not completely.

It should be in the frequency of how often she changes mood, instead of sticking to a particular (superior) mood.

Tira can't kill herself with gloomy attacks if her health is low, or just 1hp? I'm not sure. B+K can still suicide but in my (shitty 6 am drunk) gameplay, you can see the penalty for using attacks that previously would damage you. I dont remember if this was a thing in sc5
