Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Looks like they're prohibited from using CaS?

@AndyrooSC looks like our argument is still on!
I was only joking before this is pretty crazy xD but why have CaS if they can't use it?, unless it literally is the full game? In which case that's gonna be impossible to stop people looking in the menus at all times lol

This is looking more and more like the final build to me.

Okubo said in an interview that a final build would be completed around the start of September as you need to give a month for QC console testing and approving from Sony and Microsoft. So yeah highly likely this is the final vanilla build.

There was an achievement unlock in a previous build, one of the ones with Talim gameplay.

Could've been the same build as this one for all we know, she was revealed after the last playable version of the game/select screen we saw (E3 build)

Yoshimitsu and Cervantes isn't a rivalry, and neither is Seong Mi-na and Voldo. Hwang just fits in the upper left along with the heroes.

Well it obviously cant work out mathematically perfect if you're just going off previous games but they may have some rivalries now.

It may not just be about rivalries in story though but also opposing themes.

Those four slots match up to the DLC perfectly. I don't see how they're not. I don't want them to be DLC, but it's fairly obvious that they are..
As I said:

- This doesn’t line up with Okubo’s projected roster size.
- Lizardman, Hwang and Inferno could easily fit in and have been teased.
- DLC could all fit the far left star as it’s own slot.

It’s not like they can edit the demo version or anything...

Before people think they need to release trailers in the order of hype, let's remind ourselves that the last Tekken 7 trailers went:

Lee
Miguel
Kuma and Panda
Eliza
Eddy

There is a high chance that the 4 small slots are the dlc...

Small chance that it could be Hwang, Liz, Rock or Cassandra. They seems to be cut in the end. We might see them in the story.

Can't imagine a game without a Hwang/Yunsung style for since 2 game... And showing dlc slots already since 4 month would be lame. But like I said, Namco can do anything, especially the worst :'(

Still waiting the game, but I lost half of my motivation for that game.

I'am happy to have founded Raphael, I hope Raphaels main will remember Yunseong/Hwang.

I hope your passion for the game doesn't die over one character! But anyway, I think he still has hope!

This build has trophies.
There was an achievement unlock. Hard for me to believe they'd implement working achievements in a demo build. Nothing definite, just another sign in my mind that it's the final build.
We've seen them in the Voldo gameplay videos of IGN months back.. it's the same build, which i believe to be the final build of the game.

Did Markman lie? He said that the current build is not indicative of the final roster. If this is the final build, it fits the PlayStation Experience character slots.

Things change in development, Okubo might have envisioned a certain size roster for base but Namco could have easily told him to make characters DLC instead.

I think you should lower your hopes. I don't want it to be DLC slots, but I'm not going to be optimistic about the fact that it could possibly be for other base characters.

In every other build the remaining base slots were always full, empty circles, now they all of a sudden change them to be small? It makes sense they are DLC slots.

They could be Unlockable slots of course, but once again, I wouldn't put hopes on that.

I knew there was something fishy back when they were showing Voldo and Talim gameplay but deliberately cutting out the character select screen.

Anyway I definitely look forward to getting to see some actual decent gameplay of Talim, Mi-Na, and Asta.

What's really weird is how Azwel and maybe!Hwang are the new slots added at the E3 build. Would rather those be DLC slots then and Azwel possibly in Raph's slot while Raph goes across Talim.

Well Yoshi vs Cervantes alludes to the ninja vs pirate meme I guess...
