I thought demos these days were pretty much extinct due to companies relying on Youtubers to showcase games, among other things, to prevent the gamers from actually playing it themselves before launch.

Maybe anyone that is at least trying to be serious about releasing a well polished and balanced game does anyway. I remeber that interview Okubo had with Kayane.

Kayane: "Demo?" Okubo: "No."
Kayane: "Beta?" Okubo: "No."
Kayane: "Future patches?" Okubo: "Our game's balance will be perfect."

Her straight face reaction to that was priceless.

By the way, if this recent debacle wasn't showcasing their final build, they definitely seemed to panic enough that it is. Shutting down the tournament and removing all video footage as if there is anything significant to hide in the first place. Raph and Cervy are pretty much "meh" reveals. Mostly because people are expecting those two anyway.

He said there would be no beta, but I don't think he said no demo.

Yeah, I think he said it in Kayane's interview? I really would love a demo like what DOA5LR got where you only get two or three characters available at once but each week the available ones change

A free version launching next to the full game just like DOA5 would work very well. It'd get as many in as possible without the barrier of entry, while exposing the game to the widest possible audience.

Well a beta would help with that but more likely they were too busy focusing on boob sliders, elf ears and Libra of Souls story boards.
 
you know what i just thought of

when Kayane said we could make a Guts or a Griffith I wonder what styles she was thinking of, seig or nightmare for Guts but what about Griffith? Nobody really fits his style... except maybe raph... I'm guessing she just said that for the sake of it and it didn't mean anything,.. but I just thought it was interesting...

I don’t think always appealing to the vocal minority is good. The glasses are quirky and charming. I don’t want everyone to be subsumed to mainstream tastes.

I think they are more likely than not in the game, but there has to be something else coming because those two as the last character reveals won’t really bring in the most hype, unless they’ve been redone significantly.

Reveals have never really been in order from "least hyped to hyped", but you can't go wrong with a brand new female fighter!
