Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

What is happening next Thursday ? I’d there a Namco pre-conference ?

Or we will get new infos next Saturday ?

Si Tira ins’t considered as the first DLC ?
If it was the case , these 4 empty slots would match with the 4 DLC , but now ..

And that f*cking center slot that is still mysterious .. mmmm ..
And also that last unrevealed mode ..

Yeah, let's keep telling ourselves that. There can't possibly be any other reason we have to pay money for a launch character.

I've seen a few articles now about the working conditions associated with game design. It's definitely not a glamorous job and one of the major issues is absurd working hours and deadlines. A budget has to be set right? Are you saying it should be reasonable to expect a company to absorb all the costs for developing a game, regardless to how much content is on it?

People keep digging up fighting games from like... over ten years ago as the standard that should be met but there are two major issues with that.
1. Online play was not a thing at that time.
2. The majority of those games were broken, unbalanced garbage.

There's such a thing as having standards. You can have something be sexy without it looking dumb/laughable.

Trying to remember how many times i've seen an armored bikini character design but its too common and too much to count.

...How the hell did France NOT notice the 2 story modes at this point? There were already trailers showing them...l0l

If I got the right reference (jeuxvideo.com), he was refering to 3 people in the comment section of a site known for the immaturity of its community.

They didn't notice World War II also.

Is that funny? 4 people liked this post. Want to join jeuxvideo.com community?

Just finished recording a podcast thing and I noticed a few things I'm not sure people have talked about.

First of all, this frame:

You can see story portraits for Sophitia, Taki, and a few generic characters. Can anyone tell the name of the silhouetted character Sophitia is talking to? Is that supposed to be an avatar of Hephaestus?

And secondly, this frame:

Bottom-right seems to be text explaining game systems (one of the entries mentions 8WAY-RUN). I wanna say SC3 had something similar.

Top-right you can see some kind of story synopsis. Not many entries, so maybe this only tells the story before SC6 (aka before SC1).

The mini astaroth that adtaroth is fighting looks like his sc5 skin (green Frankenstein one)

So are you suggesting that SC2&SC3 were garbage? Also, yeah they weren’t balanced , but can you blame people now for expecting games to get better...

In terms of balance, yes they were. Actually i'll admit that i don't really know about SC2 but just going off memory i believe Talim had some absurd infinite BS or something but i do know SC3 was also very unbalanced. As far as how i blame other people, it depends on what exactly they expect. Character balance is an ongoing thing that pretty much never stops but still very important to do as much work as possible to shorten gaps on the tier list.

Uuuuufffff that “new barron stance” though!!

So i take it this is like... wall jump shenanigans ala Claw from Street Fighter?
And does this mean you have to be at an actual wall and not just the edge of the screen?

I think they were sarcastic.

I'm not blaming the devs. I'm just saying that it's manyfold more likely that Okubo just said that because he's not allowed to say "Bamco told us to choose a popular character to be Day One DLC".

Right but why exactly are they telling him to do that?
Is it because they didn't meet the goal within their projected budget or just because?

While I'm clearly playing advocatus diabolu here, I'd like to point out that dumb and layghable have always been staoles of character creation modes in games since times immemorial.
Ya got me there.

It's not even an armored bikini. The armor and the bikini are two separate parts of the outfit. lol

Companies want to make money. It's not exactly rocket science. It's quite obvious they're poking around and checking constantly how far they can go before hitting Battlefront 2

Ya got me there.

Now I want to know if we're getting a chainmail texture for character creation.

The article specifically said on "walled stages". That makes me think its a tool for teleport shenanigans to work properly because it doesn't on a walled stage. The only thing i can think of is that shitty teleport GDR from SC4 (i don't know if he had it in 5 or not). That would put him back a ways but not ring himself out because he levitates. I hope this means that move is a lot more useful this time around because it wasn't as i remember it. Despite the fact it was spammed by scrubs back in Lagcalibur 4.
