Really? We dont see their movesets on the CAS options or on that character poll currently going on. Azwel is apparently available but Hwang and Lizardman are locked? Are you sure you wanna run with that?

I sincerely other characters like Cassandra are unlockable over Hwang and especially Lizardman, though we might just see these characters in DLC.

For a CaS style to show up the character needs to be unlocked, it seems. Tira is in these arcade modes but completely absent from the CaS menu. Considering he has a ton of sc1/2/3 moves and his animation set seems to be based on xi sword with the axe clipping through the shield during certain poses, as well as actual Aeon actually having a design, I'm inclined to believe he is a base roster unlockable.
Hwang and edge master don't have much of a leg to stand on, however. I wouldn't be surprised if we got nothing more than Aeon and Inferno as SP unlocks...

Wrong game.
While that's right, there was a different person who posted about Azwel prior to that that had Hwang and Lizardman on their list, but not Inferno.
But the same guy also said he wasn't 100% sure about Hwang in a reply.

Funnily enough, this seems like it's the most accurate now. Inferno and Lizardman unlockables, Hwang as DLC.

I heard in Hayate's video that Tira was in the Arcade Mode. I starting to think that she may be unlockable in the base game, but the DLC option will make it easier to unlock. Remember SSB Goku & Vegeta in DragonBall FighterZ.

yeah, in the new pic there are only 5 rows so the proportions to the old pic look off but the old one definitely has 6 rows

It seemed unlikely that we would get Edge Master when Inferno seemed so likely, but if we are getting Inferno and Lizardman, and quite possibly Hwang, then that helps Edge Master's chances, but then it leaves Rock all by himself, unavailable and unloved. The real question, though, is if we do get Edge Master, what weapons will he use? It doesn't seem like "The Master" weapons are back, unless it's like Elysium's Soul Calibur weapons this time, and only Edge Master can use them. Or he'll just use the "standard" weapons that are the defaults in Libra of Soul, maybe. It's notable that the Libra of Soul weapons that are level 1 are almost all not the actual default weapons, but the most generic looking weapon for each character.

Well, they could be unlockable once you unlock the Edge Master himself. It kinda makes sense that you'll be unable to use his weapons without him being unlocked.
They were specifically called "early unlock" since first showing. With Tira it's the opposite - she was always a "DLC character" and that notion wasn't ever changed. So it's definitely not the case here.
So was Damp in SCV, didn't stop him from being DLC.

Although I'm jumping the gun here, anyone else believe that Hwang and Aeon will receive a Season 2 rework? My guess is that Hwang and Aeon are going to come out very similar to Xianghua and Sophitia respectively. If this is the case then I believe that it would make sense for them to be reworked in Season 2 where Hwang is closer to his SoulCalibur III: Arcade Edition version and Aeon adopts more moves from his SoulCalibur V version.
P.S.
We should probably tell Okubo to rework the character select screen for Season 2. Having two locked slots isolated on the sides are really ugly.

If they already get unlocked as bonus characters, I can't really see them getting a rework DLC. That would be a little weird, like how would they even handle it? Would they be Alpha Hwang and Lizardman Omega?
