Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

If there was confidence in the product, there wouldn't be day one DLC.
This just isn't true. Almost every major release has some amount of launch DLC, most of which is put on-disc ahead of time. It's a marketing scam for sure, but I doubt it's because Bandai-Namco doesn't think the product will sell. They just want to make more money.

Really? It it much faster with the cable?
Wi-Fi is subject to a lot more interference than a wired connection. The layout of your home, objects blocking the signal, interference from electrical devices or your neighbors Wi-Fi networks - all these things contribute to Wi-Fi being generally less reliable.

This interference can cause a number of problems:

  • Dropped signals: Occasionally, Wi-Fi will lose the signal and have to reacquire it. This may not be a big deal for daily browsing or even streaming video (which gets buffered on the local device), because the re-acquisition happens quickly. But if you play online games, it can get pretty irritating.
  • Higher latency: Increased interference can mean higher latency, which can be a problem for all the reasons we outlined in the previous section.
  • Lowered speeds: More interference also means lower signal quality, which results in

Bruh, most DLC is either mostly or wholey made with tge "main budget." If not youd have to wait like, 6 months to get any content. I dont know about u but, Im not trynna do that.
"Main Time" and "Main Budget" are differnet things. Game (or at least the main roster), aside from some little fixes, most probably was already completed by April-June. And they just started preparing DLC right away. Tira definitely was 75%+ ready by the time trailer dropped.

Day One DLC is the standard practice. Nearly all games have them nowadays (and in most cases they are already on the disc).
This has nothing to do with confidence in the product.

Finding some of the character's code on disc does not mean the completed character is on disc. You expect them to delete a work in progress rather than just finishing it with a download later? I mean really. If she's half completed when it comes time to go gold would you rather they not put the completed half on the disc so you need to waste valuable hard drive space to download the whole charactet when it coulda just been half?
Calling someone a "sweet summer child" in the same post where you think they lied about a character not being ready because 3 weeks before said character hits she will be playable is some deep lack self-awareness.
She was in the arcade mode of the TGS build, which was the "master build" according to BNE reps, meaning it's the one that went to print. She's fully playable in the launch game, without any patches or anything.
tell that to tekken 7

and DBFZ...

and SFV...

and... you get my point
I get it, but tbf, SFV had no day one DLC, and DBFZ only had a "cheat code" of sorts as the preorder bonus.

Playable and complete are not the same thing. Characters go through multiple stages of playable before completion. Do you think characters aren't tested in various states and added to? I'm sure many characters where playable with only half their moves or less in various states. I bet some even gained and lost some moves.

You do know Hayate played the final build right? The TGS build didn't even have the name of the moves finalized.

After getting a look at Azwel's weapon selection, I kind of miss having a central theme for each character's weapon lists. This was most evident in SCII, when everyone had a whopping twelve weapons to choose from. One of the best ones I can think of off the top of my head were Cervantes's selection of swords based off of the rivers of the Greek underworld (Styx, Acheron, Lethe, Phlegethon, Cocytus). Then there's the three Shang dynasty weapons with Yun-seong, and Cassandra's penchant for picking up weapons meant to maim and kill the opposition (Spike Shield, Spine Blade, Dark Blade, Ivan the Terrible).

A lot of SCII weapons were recolours or re-skins, which is mitigated by allowing us to edit them. The one thing I wish though, is that stickers were applicable to weapons.

The stickers part would have come in really handy with some of the generic blank weapons back in SCV, especially Pyrrha's and Patroklos's shields.

No, we haven't seen them. We just know their names, based on the poll to pick the CaS Lizardman using Azwel's style's weapon from Twitter.
I know, I asked like four pages back if there was a picture going along with the poll since the options are numbered like in the last one, but everyone was too busy whining about Tira or some shit. Where did the poll even come from if not from a tweet with a picture?
