Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

You can select a weapon by hovering the cursor over a character then pressing square (i play on playstation, so you can use the equivalent if you play on xbox).
I'm on PS4 Square does nothing in Arcade mode's character select. Unless my update didn't work properly?

Man, history of the video game market clearly showed that it is impossible to always sell same product without any innovations.
Ful or particular rejuvination of roster is common practice in games (Tekken 3, Garou, many chars in Street Fighter)

Perhaps re-read the post you were responding to. There was nothing to indicate an aversion to innovation--the complaint is about the executions and the incredible lack of forethought and acumen that went into the specific design choices for the roster of Soul Calibur: Twilight Edition. And even in my criticism I was careful to note that many of those questionable calls can be attributed to the fact that the devs were working with limited resources and on an unforgiving timeline.

But understanding the cause of those issues (and indeed, even acknowledging what SCV got right--and it did do a fair bit right) doesn't change the fact that there were a lot of boneheaded decisions made in the name of trying to "advance" the franchise in that game. The sales weren't abysmal just because the the industry and the fighting genre were in a slump at the time. And if you want to have debate with the long-time veterans of the franchise here about whether there's anything "really' wrong with that game, I'm sure you'll find takers, but you better come armed with better argument than "loli" references, because there was a lot that was odd, ill-fitting, unblanced, nonsensical, or just outright broken in that game, and you're going to be exposed for not having very salient or compelling thoughts on the matter if that's the best you can do.

Oh right, sorry glossed over that you were in arcade. Yeah im not seeing anything on my end either. I guess we can only hope that its added next patch. Lol

Im begins with SC5, and whats wrong in this game?
Lack of pedololi? For me its advantage.
Remove of too similar chars (Asta - Rock, Kilik-Mina, Sophy-Cassandra), For me its advantage
Dampierre? For me he analogue of Dr. Bosconovitch of Tekken

The opinion of professional players is important in questions of game balance.
But this question is second in importance.
The first question of importance is the level of sales of the game, as unprofitable games die.
I spoke several times opinion of the most mass buyer of fighting games (schoolboys).
I spoke several times the opinion of a professional psychologist.
Time showed that I guessed right - schoolboys did not like Groh (too sadistic). In anime terms he is "Fukusuha"(復讐者, jap. "avenger") - grimdark anime kinsman of Batman. From the point of view of a psychologist, the mistake is that a Batman is a big, stern man. A teenager cannot be a Batman, this was the reason for the failure of Batman Beyond.

Added later:
In the history of video games, there have been many cases of good sales of games with poor graphics (DOTA, Minecraft) or bad game balance

Well, just a quick FYI, the CaS pack 1 is already on Steam, already up in PS store in JP/Asia and EU/PAL terriorties, nothing yet for X1 worldwide (which I'm currently checking), and nothing yet stateside on PS Store US until practically tomorrow morning, I assume.

So yeah...it'll be a while.
