Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I think a lot of her fans are worried that :sc4amy1: will be replaced again in the next game if she becomes:sc5vio1: at the end of Soul Chronicle. Being clone or twin sister both have a chance to appear in same game.
I will particularly keep my opinion of Amy/Viola as a secret. I'd rather wait to play and find the real destiny of her.

If, say, Viola is a clone created by Azwel, how do you think it'll change the course of Soulcalibur?
I'm not exactly sure for Soulcalibur itself, but it could lead to a huge identity crisis storyline in which a younger Zwei brings her along, kicking into motion the whole birds of a feather thing. Those two are the only unique styles, and seeing Zwei comfort a broken viola could be quite a touching storyline. Her being a clone would beg the question of her real humanity, and as a creation of Azwel bring her to odds with Grøh. Her being a clone also begs the question, is she malfested? Or just a clone of a malfested. Her existence could also cause Taki to take an interest, whilst also linking Taki to Azwel.

In the end that'd cause viola to have some sort of relationship with:
Raph, who thinks she may be Amy and gets a weird headache around her.
Amy, who she may or may not regard as a sister.
Azwel, who created her
Grøh, who seeks to destroy Azwel's work.
Zwei, who saves her. (Pretty boi match?)
Taki, who is hunting her.
And finally, the Aval organisation is trying to destroy her, as a creation of Azwel and a thing that should not be.

If I do you say the evil organisation is what was chasing Zwei the whole time. Plus that means we get the whole story arc with Zwei and Viola without the new characters. That means we get the good characters from V, and we don't need to mess around with timeline. Just have those two appear earlier.

If we're getting Viola back, I'd say it's pretty much a given that we'd be getting Z.W.E.I. back too, since their fates are intertwined. And with the possibility arisen that Viola may be a clone of Amy, it could follow that Z.W.E.I. is actually a clone of Grøh. This also allows both styles to exist. I really don't think it's a stretch to say that cloning individuals is outside of the realm of possibility, considering Azwel's fascination with mad science and having other knowledge such as his studies on waves that are not appropriate for the time period. Yes, we're extending further into fantasy and away from reality, but in that it's already being done, and has happened to some extent already, these things could definitely all come into play. It may even be that his successful cloning of Amy is what led him to come back to Grøh, because he would see Grøh as a failure, so he would be trying again with a clone he could program to his own desires, where it would have no choice but to obey, as far as Azwel would be concerned, anyway.

No, we don’t need to bring ZWEI back especially not by some contrived twist that he’s actually Grøh. This is a reboot (even if you refuse to accept that), they can change things as needed.

Yes, they can change things, but they still haven't, at least not yet. Until they actually change anything that has a real impact on the lasting overarching timeline, it can be assumed that everything will unfold as it did before, meaning Viola is tied to Z.W.E.I., one way or another, we will get back to Z.W.E.I., unless we actually start delving into changed history, in which case anything goes. For now, though, that is just not the case. Not yet. Amy's DLC might actually change things, we'll see what happens, perhaps sooner rather than later, hopefully, so we can at least attempt to lay this back-and-forth to rest. Knowing my luck, though, we'll still not have any real change, so it'll still be up in the air, though I would take it to mean more evidence that we're not changing anything in the grand scheme of things, it'll just keep the struggle going.

They have. There are changes, right up to Zasalamel’s secret final chapter that unambiguously confirms that this is a reboot. I really don’t need to see ZWEI.

Dante, I really don't think there's a chance in hell of seeing Zwei in SCVI, least of all in a convoluted scenario that combines a Viola is a clone theory with your Groh=Zwei theory, either one of which is pretty convoluted and unlikely and which together would just be soap opera levels of goofy plotting--no offense intended! Viola is returning (possibly, anyway--let's please try to remember we really very little for certain at this point) because she was far and away the most popular original character of SCV. Zwei, with his lame emo-meets-bro look (seriously, that guy's design is so overdone and douchie my brain makes me smell hair dye and axe body spray just from looking at him), lame weapon, lackluster moveset design, ridiculous name, and stupid phantom wolf anime abilities, was one of the least liked characters of that game (and I would guess, near the bottom of the franchise characters people would want to see return generally).

It's possible that if the story every moves into territory that re-explores the SCV characters and their plots more heavily, he may make a return, but it's frankly a bit of a marvel, all things considered, that even one got into VI, and it was clearly only by virtue of her being the same person as Amy. (And again, even then we don't know if she'll be more than teased in SCVI). Honestly, it would be a mind-bogglingly bad idea to put him in before pretty much any other character left in any SC game's roster (or for that matter, any reasonable guest), but putting him in before Hilde has even made the cut? I can't see that happening.

Ugh, I can do without ZWEI. One overly anime fighter is enough.

I 'm not against Z.W.E.I., but his move's are terrible & why would a viable character like Grøh become a terrible character like Z.W.E.I.

Hilde isn't returning in SCVI and it's confirmed.

I believe Hilde, Algol and maybe Dampierre are being saved for SCVII. Mainly because that game will cover more events from that era and will also like start to go off rails from the OT where we get to see what’s really being planned.

Makes sense

Why is Hilde out from SCVI? Do we know Yell is someone already?
Don't listen to Frayhua--he's just trolling/talking out his ass. He's been saying "Character A confirmed for SCVI/Character B confirmed not in SCVI" for weeks now with regard to characters that are very much up in the air as far as any official confirmation or definitive evidence is concerned. We actually agree on a substantial number of the identities of the forthcoming characters, but I have to say his habit of misrepresenting their official status is getting a little obnoxious insofar as the confusion it invariably causes for forum members who aren't here every day to track the course of his bullshit and therefor often think he is relating some recent annoucement they have not heard yet. He must know that people expect "confirmed" means confirmed by the devs and he's been called on it repeatedly, but persists, because, well...Frayhau.

Frayhau, I will agree with you this far: I don't think Hilde is one of the Season Two Codenamed Six; for numerous reasons, I believe we have all the evidence we need to believe those characters are the remaining six classic (pre-SCIV) roster characters. However, you don't seem to have followed the context of what I was saying well enough to properly understand what I was talking about. In the event that Viola gets in, that will almost certainly mean a Season Three (which I think will definetly include Hilde if it comes to that). But even if there are no further characters after Season Two, my point remains valid insofar as it was a hypothetical anyway: I was merely telling Dante that there's no way Zwei gets in before the slew of other characters that would be obvious and better picks and (after season two drops) the character who will be at the top of that list of characters who would be more logical additions than the avenger bro will be Hilde. Do you follow now?

Yun-seong because he's after Cassie & Amy on the popularity poll back in 2015.

Yun-seong is almost certainly "Star"; "Yell" is most likely Li Long.

A few weeks ago, I would have agreed, but I don't think there's any chance that Viola drops in Season Two, which means if she really is being prepped for a playable presence in VI, we are likely getting yet more support after season two. And if there is a third season, I can't imagine they will continue to defer Hilde. Insofar as I believe the Season Two Six are Rock, Li Long, Hwang, Setsuka, Yun-Seong, and Lizardman, if there were a third season, I would wager (and we're getting well into speculation territory here, but this is truly my best bet) the selections would be Hilde, Algol, Viola, and a guest character with two more CaS packs. But it's possible we're all reading too much into Viola, there will be no third season and, as you say, Algol, Hilde (and presumably Viola) will be reserved for SCVII further down the line.

I can only see ZWEI ever getting in if they revisit the SCV era, but that in itself sounds very unlikely. That game’s legacy is that it nearly killed the series, Okubo even admitted as much. This being a reboot, confirmed by Zasalamel’s ending, will likely entail a massive divergence later on.

Viola getting in amounts to her being the Kenshi of SCV, as in the one character that caught on and was rebooted in the New Timeline.

Li Long is NEVER returning & SCVI isn't getting a Season 3 like Tekken 7 is.

Just so I’m understood clearly, I’m not saying that either Viola or Z.W.E.I. will make it into SoulCalibur VI, merely that their seeds will be sown for the future, much like Dumas Raphael already has been. I don’t believe that we will get a season three either. SoulCalibur VII would see Algol and Hilde coming back, along with possibly Z.W.E.I. and Viola as DLC for that game. This is my opinion as of this moment. Amy’s Soul Chronicle may change my expectations.

Ahhh, I see. Well yes, that could all very well be (though if there is one part that seems less likely than the rest, its Zwei as DLC).

However, insofar as they keep indicating more and more content at a much faster rate than I ever would have dreamed to hope for just three months ago, I'm not prepared to write of a season three. I mean, afterall, they are pushing this Viola vibe awfully strong--it really does seem like DLC prep. Anyway, as you say, we'll have a lot more to go on in a few weeks!

Well, a third season is still probably a long shot, but PS has surprised me so many times as regards expanding the scope of their DLC support for this game that I'm not ruling it out either--not by a longshot. Of course, bear in mind that at PS's current rate of production, we wouldn't see the end of season three for another two plus years, so even if we do get as much content as that, it's going to be a long process..

I just can’t see Rock and Li Long being DLC. Or having Yun-seong with Hwang. But let’s not open that topic again.
